Pony doesn't stay gold. Whatsoever. He gets messed up in rougher gangs. Makes bad friends. Starts fights. Gets into drugs. Starts going after socs instead of them going after him. He becomes the worst of the Shepard gang and then some. He disregards his future, doesn't give a crap. After all, if Johnny can't have one, if Dally can't have one, why should Pony get one? Besides, these... activities? They're the only way to forget, to numb the pain constantly coursing through Pony's body. Darry made him talk to a doctor about it before he got real messed up, and they called it "survivors guilt". Pony's doesn't care what it is, just knows that it ain't going away, and deep down, he knows he doesn't deserve for it to go away.

Soda can't let go of the Pony he once knew. He's still holding onto fragments of memories of a Pony who slept in their house every night, who stayed up light to finish homework, not pulling pranks or getting drunk. Of a Pony who would disappear for hours only for Soda to find him nestled in a corner, reading a book. Now he only found him in the holding cell looking bored after getting caught by the police. But Soda held onto those fragments like a Potter to their works in a tornado (or something of the like) except the Potter was delusional and all their pots where figments of their imagination.

And now let me add in I Bet on Losing Dogs by Mitski.

Soda who sees Pony going down this path, knowing he can't do anything about it, but can't help but rely on him for comfort. Can't help but bet on him and he knows that someday it will come back to bite him in the form of terrible grief.

Where I'll be looking in their eyes when they're down I'll be there on their side I'm losing by their side

Once Pony really crashes and burns, Soda will still be with him, because it's his brother. Soda defends Pony to Darry all day and all night because of this spark of hope that maybe, maybe some remnant of Pony is still in there. But eventually, he'll be losing right by Pony's side.

Soda who can't help but love Pony. Even after he comes home covered in blood that isn't his own, staring straight ahead with no shimmer of kindness or love left in those dull green gray eyes. Even after he tells Soda he's given up trying. Even after he yells and screams at Soda, just telling him to give up on him, that he isn't who he used to be, and he never will be.

Never again.

But Soda just looks into him and remembers how he was.

POLITE REMINDERS FOR SOC SATURDAYS!!

1) this is a privilege from Melody and she does not have to do it, she does it from the goodness of her heart

2) their business is their business as much as ours is ours. they don’t owe us anything and we are in no way entitled to ask about their personal lives

3) please don’t ask about relationships/ sexuality/ age/ where they live. they wouldn’t ask any of that about us so why should we

4) please stop with the adoption. some of the cast are very outwardly uncomfortable with it and honestly it’s weird and not funny as well as such an odd thing to say

5) PLEASE STOP DEMANDING TO SEE OTHERS!!

Melody has said so many times if people want to be on it they will come to her and she won’t force anyone to be on it. We have to remember that these people are preparing to do such a physically and emotionally demanding show and don’t always want a phone shoved in their faces where people are demanding things and being rude

6) don’t comment on peoples appearances. i hate to bring it up but last week there was one person who kept spamming and asking if Jason was balding?! and i’m pretty sure he saw it because of the amount of comments on it there were. First of all, that is so insanely rude to point that out and in no way funny and Secondly, why would he answer that anyway?

7) Please stop spamming. All the cast comment on how fast the chat goes and all i ever see is people asking them to say their names and not very nice comments. If you want to ask a question that’s okay but don’t put it every second. it fills the chat and i see how stressed it makes Melody when she can’t read anything

8) REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN!! Soc Saturdays started as a fun thing for Melody and us and now they seem to stress people out and are getting toxic.

Please remember to be kind and polite.

Again the don’t owe us anything so stop acting like you’re entitled to their life.

Today i am going to try watching with the chat off so if anyone sees anything they want me to highlight message me and i’ll say something. also if anyone wants me to add anything to this post feel free to ask.
