uh first time ever posting a fic 🙀 kinda nervous

Toby and Jeff reuniting after multiple years but Tobys just like a little mad 😾(or sum like that)

THIS IS BASED OFF OF @comingdownwithme own headcanons (which i love +adore btw its so very very cool) I HIGHLY RECOMEND READING HER WRITINGS IF YOU WANT MORE CONTEXT SINCE IM RLLY BAD AT EXPO

     Toby fully stands up. Pulling his bloodstained goggles off his face and onto his dark brown hair. He bends down for a second, ripping the hatchet out of the side of this now-bloodstained pulp. He takes another moment, taking another deep breath, seeing the heat of his breath rise in the frigid air. 

 

     After putting his hatchets, both having large chunks of tissue still attached to them, into the small loops in his belt. He looked down at the body, being annoyed he would now have to clean it up. He was thinking about just leaving it for the animals when a familiar static entered into his head. A reminder of the operator's constant presence. He pulled his mask down as well, now uncovering the rest of his face. The gash in his cheek, uncovering the left side of his teeth.

 

     Just as Toby was going to deal with the body, he felt a presence behind him. He quickly snaps his head around, not directly seeing anything. but he can hear it, something practically stomping around. He pulls his mask up over his nose but quickly makes his way towards the sound. stepping over every branch and root, knowing exactly where each one was. He eventually caught up to the noise.

 

     He hides behind a tree, catching his breath before peeking around it, not wanting to attack immediately. He sees this husk of a person, not sure if it was a man or woman until it partially turned around. Toby watched as this THING turned as it revealed part of its disgustingly white face, with deep red scars going up through its cheeks. Like a childs attempt of drawing a smiley face gone wrong. Toby assumed he was outside all night since his long black hair was slicked down, stringy, and wet. Toby kept watching, waiting for a second before he wanted to attack.

 

     As he fully turned around, Toby KNEW who this was. Well, he didn't actually, but he knew this THING from his almost constant nightmares, which had been recently starting to creep into his hallucinations. But he was different, almost cartoonishly white-skinned, and his nostrils were gone, just leaving large holes. He could just barely remember its name, Jeff. These pieces of his past infuriated him so much that it had him up for the last 3 days. He felt like a little child, like he had lost all control. 

 

 

     He moves behind the tree for a second, wiping off his goggles and pulling them on. He quickly pulls up his hatchets, finally jumping around the tree and swinging towards the side of him. Almost immediately he jumps out of the way, pulling a knife from behind his back. Toby tries redirecting his momentum, taking off from the foot he landed on. He winds up his one arm, aiming for the middle of his skull. Missing by a hair, as again it runs again. And getting his hatchet stuck in tree behind him. While running under Tobys arm he slices the side of Toby's calf. 

 

         Suddenly he starts almost yelling at Toby, "Toby? Dude, it's m-". He has this look in his eyes, like he was remembering something fondly. The exact opposite of what Toby could remember; all of it was just pure anger. He quickly gets cut off when Toby finally pulls his hatchet out of the tree. Even more furious that he wanted to act like they could've been friends, then why was he alone NOW? WHY IS HE HAUNTING ALL OF HIS MEMORIES?

Toby sends another swing, catching Jeff off guard and sending his hatchet into his side. It was a decent swing, but not deep enough for Toby. Until this nightmare of his past was DEAD. UNTIL HIS BODY WAS LYING COMPLETELY FUCKING DEAD ON THE FOREST FLOOR, he wasn't stopping. Jeff quickly gets up again, leaning over, trying to hold his side. Jeff tries running backwards, trying to understand why Toby wouldn't stop. In a moment of desperation, Jeff quickly stabs his knife into Toby's foot. Jeff turns around and starts running, trying to find the way he came in. Toby couldn't feel the pain Jeff had tried inflicting; he quickly started gaining on Jeff. All while the static growing in his head got painfully loud as he reached towards the border of where he was allowed. He winded up again and threw his hatchet. He missed but didn't want to stop to retrieve it; he went to throw the other, but the static, the noise, grew to be the worst it had ever gotten. It was because he was reaching the end of his little "territory". It became deafening, spreading to behind his eyes and down his body. Causing his arms and legs to just stop mid-chase. Sending him straight to the forest floor, he picked his head up to see Jeff had stopped and turned around. Toby used the rest of his energy just to scream at Jeff. "GET THE FFFUCK BACK HERE!" he starts trying to drag himself by just his fingers. "I'LL FUCKING KKKKILL YOU." Dragging out his K so he wouldn't stutter. He waited and slowly got back up, not seeing Jeff. He turned around pissed as ever, just not being able to follow after.

Toby and Nina cross paths so often- they become comfortable with one another. Nina doesn’t even know the guys name but she does know of Jeff’s interest in him and she wants to figure out why.

When Toby is allowed to leave the forest, he always ends up back with that unsettling man. Most of the time it isn’t intentional, they just gravitate to each other. Those other encounters though…he just can’t stay away.

Toby knows about Ben from Jeff whenever he'd tell stories to catch him up on where he's been, but he doesn't have the greatest image on ghosts (both due to being haunted by the memories of his past, but also because I think he should be freaked out by ghosts just because its funny) so he doesn't trust him and think he's a bit of a creep (Ben is just a silly lil dude though, just a silly lil guy)

Ben knows of Toby but doesn't know too much about him. Jeff kind of sees Ben as an annoyance whenever he's around (in the way you'd find a younger sibling annoying), and so doesn't talk about his personal life as much lmao

If they met though he'd probably enjoy freaking out Toby though.
