Leviathan Headcanons: Another Side

Alright, I know this is a second part that no one asked for after my first one for Asmodeus. However, it’s come to my attention that there are important pieces of information that it seems a majority of people are forgetting about. Leviathan, to me, has many more layers to him than one might think. Today, I’m motivated enough to write about him today too.

!!Warning!!: these are just my own personal headcanons and may get sensitive topics mentioned (or spoilers for the current end of the year). By no way, shape, or form am I expecting anything from this.

Honestly, this probably is an unpopular and very much personal opinion but- no one seems to realize that this guy is the Grand Admiral of Hell's Navy and exactly how much more to him there is than some otaku with an obsession with Ruri-Chan.

Despite this fact, there’s not even much to show with it. It’s upsetting.

However, with a bit of asking a few relatives of mine who have also served at one point or another- I think Levi might have PTSD. With seeing how a good few cope with it, I’m starting to see the similarities.

Anime, Manga, Games- all of it not only become a part of him when he found out they existed, but they also became his way to cope with his PTSD. It’s to help him avoid losing it.

It’s also why he can’t stand crowds- not only from social anxiety or because of him being a recluse. 

Crowds can be a trigger for PTSD for some people, because of flashbacks that could potentially resurface of being in a situation where you’re in a tight space and everyone’s dropping around you (as one example due to what I’m talking about and how this is involved with Levi).

Isolation is one way some people with PTSD can try to deal with it. No people, loud noises, or anything else? Nothing to spark you. (Disclaimer: This doesn’t apply to everyone with PTSD!! Note how I’m still saying ‘some’.)

If he’s back in that sort of scenery, or in his element- I believe you could see a much different side of Levi that you wouldn’t on any other occasion.

He’s that high a rank for a reason, after all.

I believe it’s one of the rare times everyone can see a serious and very dangerous Leviathan. A great soldier who was even trusted for his position has to be an opponent not anyone would want to face.

Not to mention he’s based on the serpent and naturally water would be his domain here. He could get through it easily.

Despite being out of shape, likely due to everything that’s going on now, he still has to be doing something to keep up with his body too.

I’m almost positive that Levi then, with this in mind, would appreciate someone who understands that at times he might need his personal space.

It’s nothing against his dear friend/partner, of course. He just doesn’t want anything to happen if things ever escalated.

That doesn’t mean he won’t appreciate someone, who knows how to handle this, attempt to comfort him though!! That’s brownie points there.

The war must have taken a toll on him too, since it’s likely that he played a similar role then too. So it’s not out of the question that one way or another it could have affected him a lot more than it seems.

He likely feels horrible for his own failure too, having lost Lilith too. His low self esteem- probably also driven from that (not to the extreme as Belphegor, which is a story for another time.) alongside so much piling up.

It’s no wonder he is questioning his own worth and assumes everyone thinks badly of him.

Not all military, sadly, are treated the best to start. Then when he became an otaku, faced the relentless teasing and maybe even bullying. After all, not everyone likes fans of anime/manga/video games.

Then to see that everyone sees so much more good with the others... he’s going to feel like all he does is exist.

Although he does also get angry with Mammon too, but that doesn’t mean he thinks he’s better. That’s just a clash if Mammon steals something of his. (Doesn’t mean it’s right, but that’s another story for another time.)

He also went from an angel to a demon. He’s not excluded from the fact such a change could have affected him too.

One way or another, it turned him into the avatar of Envy.

Everything started piling up- from his own issues to then seeing how happy everyone else is when he’s suffering and fighting many quiet battles on his own... it’s likely why jealousy ended up being his snapping point.

He doesn’t talk about these issues often, and little is it mentioned as to why he is the way he is. I think his spurts of envy are not only emotional outbursts, but to the extreme of feeling threatened during the quiz is a result of that bottle he’s been pushing his feelings in completely boiling over. I think he’s hiding a lot more pain than we think.

As petty and all as it may be, his complex to his fandoms and why he has to be the biggest fan must stem from him wanting at least some achievements to hold onto when everyone else was ripped away. He wants to have his nice things and something to bring up that no one else can. He wants to be special, even though he knows its disliked that he’s a fan. It’s his main go to, though.

 That and he wants to indulge himself on this because it’s the only thing he has to cope with his problems.

Yes, he’s aware (at times- maybe) he might be taking it to unhealthy lengths. That’s why he needs someone who can help push him in the right direction within reason. It’ll be extremely difficult, I know. Especially with how he can be. But with looking deep into his character and trying to look past what kind of ‘front’ he may have, he would not disappoint.

Hello, I would like to request a matchup for Obey Me, please! I’m a 23 year old girl. Scorpio and INFP (Hufflepuff, if that helps). I’m an introvert but I enjoy long conversations about topics I’m (or the person I’m taking to is) interested in; I just really enjoy listening to people talk about things they are passionate about. I’m very easily amused; very fond of sarcastic humor and puns. I’ve been told I’m really nice but that I’m scary when I get angry (and people who have never seen me angry are often surprised by that fact since I really hate conflict).

It takes me a while to truly open up to people, but if I consider you a friend, I’m very loyal and I try to be as supportive as possible. Speaking of support, I’m more of the “give you a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen (and as many hugs as you need)” type than the “give you an actual practical solution” type of person. I’m your typical perfectionist procrastinator (a horrible combination, really) and that often adds to my pile of anxiety.

As a hobby I love to dance (I did ballet for 10 years), read, draw and write. I recently graduated college with a major on scientific and literary translation. I’m fluent in two languages and I’m slowly learning a new one. While I hate deadlines, I’ve learned that I work better and quicker if I have them and also if what I’m doing could affect other people. Hello! Oh, no no! Don’t worry! This helps me a lot in deciding. With everything going on in the world, then my family being thrown in a loop so far- I just wish I got to this sooner. I’m so sorry for the wait!! Honestly, once again I am torn. You’re apart of a group of people that have me torn between quite a few characters. I’d either pair you with Leviathan or Satan!

Satan

You two would be able to discuss a lot about books for as long as both of you are up, honestly.

Two smart people in the same room? Expect a lot of interesting debates, especially since he’s be very much interested in your field of general education. 

He too, is one who is scary when angry but can stay calm most of the time. (Mostly)

He’d be very much interested in those languages you are learning, and don’t be surprised if he asks you tons of questions about it. Especially if they are travel based.

He’d also lowkey appreciate your loyalty, especially when he does have his own moments.

He’d have fun trying to figure you out too. He’s more observant than some.

Satan not really being the type to unleash some of his emotions, as it ends up translating to anger (and we all know how that goes), but he’d appreciate your method too whenever he’s ticked at Lucifer or someone else and needs someone to talk to. Otherwise he’d just lock himself up.

While he can’t exactly stop you from being picky about how your work looks, he’d try to support you however he can and make sure you don’t burn yourself out trying to make it great.

Also have I mentioned this guy is a bookworm yet? He’d love to read anything with you and discuss the content in it too, and likely would be the same if you ever allowed him to read what you write.

He’ll give you an opinion if you ask him straight up, but don’t be surprised if he asks if you’re upset about it. Poor guy doesn’t want you to stress over if there was one typo/spelling error or something like that. Either way, great support.

Expect the humor to be doubled here too. That’s all I have to say.

Leviathan

However, Leviathan is the one who would be over the moon about your liking of listening to people talk about their passions.

After all, he could ramble about the latest animes, mangas, and so on forever. I hope you like long talks, because seriously have you seen this one episode where-

One immediate way to make friends with him there, and he’d introduce you to any and all of his fandoms too. I hope you like 18+ hour movie marathons too. He might just have one of those and point out every single moment and overall be a huge fanboy about it.

Expect him to be amused with your sense of humor though.

He too, can be scary when he’s angry too. I mean have you seen him chase Mammon down?

Though he’d also be very surprised if you ever got angry in front of him. He would do his best to help you calm down if he can, but lets just say he knows there is definitely a limit to the nonsense you put up with and he’ll want to make sure it never happens again.

He isn’t a very open person either with all things considered, but with a bit of work you could definitely learn plenty of things about him and vice versa. He’d be more appreciative that someone new isn’t going to bombard him entirely with too many questions. Social Anxiety can be a pain.

He’d also appreciate your support too, especially when he’s having a very bad day.

You two have your own different ideas on what you want to do in life, but its not like he’d stop you. Don’t be surprised if he asks you what all of this is though.

He’d also want to make sure you’re okay too when you have your moments with being a perfectionist and a person with some form of anxiety. He can understand on a personal level how hard this must be.

• This boy would need someone stubborn enough to keep going- or have patience because not going to lie, he holds a lot of his own baggage there that he doesn’t really like mentioning.

• but honestly you also might remind him of Belphie just a little bit. It’s not a bad thing, but expect him to probably be worried if he feels something is wrong in a way only he can detect. Expect to give him some reassurance there if you’re just fine or if it’s something small.

• Also expect to be sandwiched between him and Belphie, since it’s a given he loves his twin and you.

• By that, I mean he wants to protect you and Belphie so expect him to try to keep you two nearby. 

• Beel is willing to work with his partner too, so if there’s something he’s doing wrong- just tell him and he’ll work to fix the issue. With how you are, the both of you will make a good team here.

Hello! Of course you can. Golly, I was torn between either Asmodeus or Satan, honestly. For this case, I’ll go ahead and say you could work with either of them! Both have their pro’s and cons, and I see a balance between them.

Satan (+Asmo)

As someone who has to deal with the other six constantly, Satan would appreciate someone who isn’t as chaotic around him.

That and when Lucifer is involved, he becomes the chaotic one. He’d appreciate someone who could work with him, as he’s also a bit of a mess himself.

Your patience with him would be rewarded, as you’ll always have someone nearby to listen to you play. He’d actually enjoy listening to you play music and sing honestly.

He could relate to your nature here otherwise, and would have the patience to wait for you to open up or come out of your shell.

He’d also take what chance he could, when the time is right, to tease you since he loves to see how red your face gets when he says something that really gets your attention.

Satan would also appreciate someone with your level of intelligence, as a wise demon himself. 

As someone with his own insecurities underneath that smile of his, he’d also be able to understand your side of things in his own way.

He’d do the best he could to try to help you feel confident in yourself, though can’t promise anything. If anyone has anything to say about you that isn’t a compliment, you can bet he’s going to have a long talk with them. (And probably get in trouble for getting into a fight, whoops.)

He’d be able to notice if something was off, and he’d do the best he could to cheer you up.

If you just want alone time, he’ll respect that too and allow you to do what you want so long as you’re going to be alright.

For astrology fans, he’d work well with your sign too as he’s a Libra. Correct me if I’m wrong, though. I’m no expert!

Though Hogwarts Houses are not my specialty, but you can determine if (my opinion) a Raverin (Primary Ravenclaw, secondary Slytherin) would work best there.

Asmodeus

What Satan lacks in personality and confidence at points, Asmo does make up for in being the beauty queen and could also work with teasing you, being the flirt he can be. 

He’d focus on you a lot once he’s interested. Though they (Asmo and Satan) aren’t too much different here. 

Asmo would also appreciate your skills, and encourage you in your hobbies a lot despite not knowing much here. 

He’s more passive, but also would defend his thought that you’re fine the way you are. 

He’d do what he could to try to help you feel comfortable in your own skin- from self care time to the perfect clothes. He can’t make you change your mind, but it doesn’t mean he’ll give up doing at least something to hopefully help you out.

Asmo would also spoil you rotten, though it also means it’s likely he’ll almost be attached to you by the hip as a physical person.

He’s extremely affectionate, even more highkey than Satan.

However, for astrology nerds- hes a Taurus which isn’t usually capable I believe. 

It depends on which appeals more to you to work with as to who seems more fitting to you.

Asmo loves everyone regardless. He’s probably a Huffledor (Primary Hufflepuff, with a secondary of Gryffindor) though again that’s up to you to decide.

Asmodeus Headcanons: Another Side

Hear me out- I’m well aware that at times there’s not exactly much light being shown with him, but I genuinely believe there’s a vast possibility of things that could be done to dive deeper into the character. I believe under that narcissism and his sin (that plays a huge factor too), he really could be a decent demon otherwise. The same goes with the other brothers, but they are not my focus for today.

Honestly, I think he’d be one of the best demons to go to for comfort for those struggling with themselves.

I mean- he’s been there and it’s hinted that he is insecure and seeks love and attention. Genuine, platonic love and attention. He just isn’t quite sure what to do with it. He’s the embodiment of Lust, after all. However, surely he must crave friendship too. He’s just so used to the sexual aspect that it’s become like the norm.

After all, he doesn’t even try to get you in his bed at the end of the game. He just wants to hear someone tell him they love him, genuinely, through the time and few experiences over the year.

Jewel of the Heavens. He likely does want to still be the angel he used to be, making due with the situation given to him. Remember- its very possible that he wasn’t like this as an angel. He reminds me of an incubus in game- as he acts much like one in his own way. But he went from adored angel to almost a nobody. After all, why would the demons have cared much for an angel when the brothers first fell?

I think this was likely a factor in his behavior, as demons aren’t usually considered to be the nicest. If he wanted to be popular again, to avoid letting go of that title, he has to keep up with the trends in the Devildom and do whatever it takes to get back up where he should be.

He might have accepted his new look just fine, but imagine how hard it must have been to go from that angel to nothing. So, now as a newly made representation of Lust, alongside this issue, the wreck that comes his rising popularity for more reasons than one begins.

Whether it was from sleeping with someone or wiggling in somewhere, it would still get him known as something or prove that even here, it proves he’s adored to the point of where he’s considered desirable. He’d have to look the part too. That’s where the strict beauty routine comes in. It’s to a point where, honestly, I believe he doesn’t know what else to do then. He just knows what he can make of himself here and is rolling with it.

Plus- as he can come off as a feminine man, it’s no surprise that it’s possible he just doesn’t care for gender norms. He’s confident in his own skin, especially when it seems the populace can agree with that too.

That doesn’t mean he’ll tell someone to get over themselves so simply. He can say some pretty choice words, but I doubt he’s purposely go out to upset someone if they did nothing to him. (Or if that persons Mammon- that might change. We know how Mammon gets the short end of the stick.)

I bet if he met someone struggling with themselves (when he’s not self absorbed- actually aware), not only would he treat them to a self-care day, but he’s probably vocally make his support known. 

You’re a female but don’t want to “dress” like one? You want a suit? Okay, honey. Lets go to the store and pick you out some that just scream (name) then. You’re going to look wonderful, darling. Not as much as I would, but close enough!

You’re a male but want to dress feminine? Well then, sweetie today's your lucky day? How about we get makeovers then? Shopping spree too? Want some nice skirts that’ll flow yet fit you and help you look your best? Trust me on this.

This goes for all people of sexualities and genders, by the way.

He’d probably do his best to make sure you get accepted. Heck- he probably could introduce you to a few friends since in the present time he knows a lot of people.

When it comes back to the topic of love interests...

Someone who he can’t charm and isn’t easily wooed, being a test for him to likely show what he does really want? An MC or S/O like that, for him, would be able to give him a good challenge, yet also be able to have a bond like that of best friends.

He would not make it easy at all, for sure- peeling back the layers past his narcissism and flirty behavior would be much of a challenge. But he’d have just as hard a time trying to charm his respective MC who he can’t just woo so simply.

It’s bound to lead to one of those scenarios where the popular boy (because lets admit- he is one of those characters.) and the new person end up having their rocky start since neither know what to expect, but with some time could easily become a sweet reveal and overtime good relationship too, whether he is a supporter of their choices (if you prefer one of his brothers within reason- since he isn’t completely innocent either.) and identities or they truly want to work towards an actual relationship with a lot of time and effort.

He’d likely spoil them, but love can’t be bought. He’d be shown what an actual relationship (platonic or romantic- doesn’t matter) is like with the right person.

They also might be able to genuinely notice his visible struggle with keeping the title of most popular, even if not many can top him in popularity. With some insight, you’d be able to see the ‘not so fabulous’ side of him. A side he hardly ever shows.

And this could be an unpopular opinion, but I think he envies Beelzebub and Lucifer for their bodies too, plus how popular they can also be. He might word it in an odd fashion, but I think he does believe that they do have traits that, if they aimed for it, make his attempt to be the pretty, adored one of seven to shreds with some more pushing. He could genuinely just admire them as well, but I think its a possible misinterpretation with his rambles that lead to the assumption that he’s a total creep about it.

I mean- is it just me who noticed despite the blush that he seems a bit pouty or upset when he rambles about the good things about his brothers? Again, it could just be how he just looks- but to me it looks like he genuinely does have something he’s not saying about it. He loves them both- Lucifer especially, but he almost seems a bit down.

I think he’s just good at keeping his emotions put away to save face so no one can tell he’s suffering or facing his own inner demons just as much at points, though can let that come down when the times right.

He just needs a good platonic hug, and a reminder that its okay to just be like this at times. Or someone to be his friend- someone needs to make sure he can have a friend who doesn’t want to be near him for those reasons of wanting to keep the cycle going without an end. It won’t stop it from happening, but it’d probably mean a lot to him that one person really doesn’t want that much. He’d spoil them anyway though.

Especially if he ever gets the chance to open up about how dark his side of the story, likely, really is: losing Lilith and also in a situation where he struggled to cope with this new forced identity of a demon at the bottom until things got squared away. Almost a completely different person, who grew to believe that this was one of the only ways he can find to become valid again.

He’d be able to experience, at first, what having someone- an outsider truly care about his own well being just as much as anyone else close to him is like. Get this too- they don’t expect repaid, nor will anything go down if he doesn’t sleep with them, to make up for it! Someone who could listen to his problems like he would for others if he was given that chance to explore some more positive aspects of him. It’d balance him out perfectly.

In the same respect, he could teach someone how to truly care for themselves and watch out for anything that’d hurt them. Seeing him help a few struggling demons- or even humans with their identities and making sure they are safe when they do their own thing would be a good enough eye opener to see there is more behind that guise.

I don’t expect him to change much, but seeing him try to better himself and work with what he can for someone- a love interest he genuinely wants-- or keeping a real friend around would be such a good way to add to his character in my personal opinion. I believe it’s possible, with the right person and resources. He could completely improve a bit and treasure a friend/partner more than he would have ever done before. He’d actually be able to fully get his time to shine and show he’s more than just some lusty flirt. After all, it’s his sin. Not entirely his character. It’s a factor, but not his whole character.
