so true! i think dance team/pom experience helps more for the UDA/NDA route while studio training is great for jumpstarting a dance career.

molly long in support of choosing studio over high school dance team to prepare for college programs- what are all your opinions on this? Can dance team and studio training coexist? Or is one better than the other?

omg smalltown boy was almost when doves cry?! i wonder how many other routines molly has scraped. my studio does it with in house choreo all the time so im sure that wasnt a first for her either! i actually really appreciate when choreographers scrap a routine they arent feeling instead of sticking to an idea they no longer have a vision for

Lets all take a moment to recognize all the dancers who work really hard to do well in regular school but also have to balance it with their crazy dance schedule
I remember being 14 trying to balance my < 15 hour a week comp dance schedule while also trying to get all a’s and let me tell you it was so so hard. I can’t imagine what’s it’s like trying to do well in school and balance an even crazier dance class and competition schedule. So to all those dancers out there, you got this and you are seen!

THIS POST IS LONG BUT IMPORTANT. ‼️‼️
I try not to get too involved in any drama but I cannot stay silent on this any longer. Way too many times when I am watching dances on tiktok or instagram, creepy comments will come up. Looking at the profiles of the commenters, they often have folders and reposted videos of minors in dancewear, bathing suits, and doing suggestive things. The following lists of these accounts are extensive, listing mostly dance and gymnastics accounts and others with real or AI generated content which is too disturbing to even talk about iykyk. As a minor myself I find this so disturbing and I have tried to report all accounts I come across. Unfortunately I have reported tons of these accounts and none of them have been terminated. I am saying this as a reminder that while dance is an art form and should be expressed, it is unfortunately also a place for predators. At the end of the day, the distribution of children’s dance videos truly needs to be more regulated with the world we live in. While technically anyone can walk into a dance competition and no kid is truly safe, constantly posting these childrens routines publicly and not unlisted will pose possible risks. And many of the people who need to pay more attention to this are the parents who are willingly exposing their children to predators. This isn’t about choreography or costuming or even song choices- I feel we have come a long way with all of that actually. This is more about thinking before you post or support dance accounts because some of them might not have pure intentions. The community on here seems to be genuine, so I am mostly referring to other forms of social media. I also would like you guys to report suspicious accounts you may see on any of these platforms, this is something that has been on my mind a lot and I know you guys would be receptive to it! thank you for coming to my ted talk, and just please think before you post. lots of love 💕💕

I wanna hear who you guys thing are prodigies. Ik the obvious ones are Crystal and the szyndlars but who else would you guys consider prodigies?
I think Savannah manzel in 2020, maybe Stella Brinkerhoff in ballroom, some early 2010s dancers like Tate McRae Briar Nolet and Sophia Lucia, cami voorhees when she was a mini, maybe autumn miller, maybe jaxon Willard, honestly Tristan
Btw when I say one of these kids were prodigies at a certain age, I don’t mean they got worse, I just think the other dancer also got more talented and got closer to their levels
I don’t think these kids are at the same level as the szyndlars and Crystal but I think they could be prodigies
Who do you guys think?

i totally agree with this- the back line is where I started to build confidence while not being stressed about forgetting choreo
unpopular opinion: some dancers feel more comfortable and thrive more in the back line
