New moon candle - November 26th

Priviet Witches, 

Today, we experience the New Moon of November and as the Waning Moon spell seemed to interest some of you, here is what I would like to share with you now that the Moon is fully dark ~

This New Moon is happening in the sign of Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, which is usually about adventure, travel, education, sports and physical activities in general.

When the Moon is in this fiery sign, we tend to focus on the big picture and the search of new experiences instead of details. This is why you also may feel quite spontaneous in your work today, and want to use new items or ingredients. Time to use these crystals you bought and never touch because you already have so many ! ~

Of course some of us could wonder how we can use these energies in a time of “introspection” like a New Moon ?

New Moons are indeed time for introspection if you want them to be, but they are also a very powerful moment for new beginnings, new projects, health, beauty, rejuvanation... Feel free to go with what you feel is right for you.

And, well, I don't know about you, but I had enough introspection during Mercury retrograde in Scorpio ! ~ Breath if you agree.

Anyway, what I like to do during New Moons is trying to combine these two purpose at once by doing some magick that are not spells or rituals but more like crafts or diy : candle, sachets or puppets making, to talk only about a few ones.

But before we jump into this little craft I prepared, I would like to inform you about an other celestial event.

Sorry.

But you will forgive me for this extra-reading in a bit.

Few days after today’s New Moon, our natural satellite wil be passing very close to Jupiter, and Venus. 

Here is why such an occurence is a wonder : The New Moon is a new beginning of a cycle, we can all agree on that. And if you use Jupiter’s energies, and/or Venus’, then your intentions will have all the chances to be successful as the Celestial Being carrying them is meeting the two power sources you used. Kind of like a “cosmic high five”.

No surprise, I would highly recommand using the two planets mentionned earlier tonight.

Let's wait no further and start our witchy DIY :

☆ New Moon Candle ☆ Setting your intention for the next month.

Needed :

A tall candle that you like

A paper & a pen

A sharp object (to carve your candle. Careful with the knifes!)

Herbs of your choice that represent the energies you will use (Ex: Lavender for Venus, Sage or Chamomile for Jupiter... As always, whatever works for you ~)

A piece of cord or ribon

Steps :

- Write your intention for the next moon cycle (prosperity, love, luck, beauty...) Be specific and choose your words wisely, no negative sentences.

- *Optional* Carve on the candle the symbols of the planets you used or sigils of your choice.

- Take your candle and think about what you wrote on your paper while you surround the candle with the herbs you chose and tie it with the cord/ribon.

- Once it is done, place your candle on the paper folded in four, and display it on your altar.

- Let it sit all night for it to absorb the New Moons energy.

- Keep your paper with your candle until your intent manifest. Then you can burn it with its candle. (With this you also take away your intention off the candle and can reuse it for another purpose if any left ~)

And you are done ~

Light this candle whenever you need its energy during this moon cycle.

Meteor Magick - Alpha Monocerotids

Did you know ? The Meteor shower called Alpha Monocerotids is currently happening !

Which means... *drum rolls* METEOR MAGICK !

I am really enthousiast about these, sorry ~

Meteor showers are all about power, magical boost and wishes, therefore a wonderful time to do magick. Don't restrain yourself ~

The Alpha Monocerotids is happening between between November 15th and November 25th, with a "firework" on November 21st or 22nd depending on your area. Especially this year as scientists predict around 400 meteor per hour !

This specific meteor shower is coming from the Monoceros constellation which represents : beauty, purity, love, freedom, luck, spirituality, transformation and wisdom, so I would advise doing spells or rituals around these matters.

Of course it is also possible to simply enjoy the show and feel the cosmic energy falling on you and entering your body.

Whatever you decide, I hope you'll have a wonderful stargazing event ~

Waning Moon ritual : Letting go of ...

The Moon is actually waning (in Virgo today to be accurate) so I thought it was time for a little "letting go of..." spell.

Indeed, this time when the moon is slowly disappearing is a perfect time to make something go away from us.

We all have some issues we have to deal with and sometimes we need an extra help to get rid of it and give us the strength to move on or to solve these troubles.

As a cosmic witch I usually use for this spell the Waning Moon, of course, but also the extra energy of a planet or a constellation to really highlight the subject of my spell.

For example : Venus if it is a love or beauty matter (you can banish acnee away !), Mercury for work or communication - I would advise you to wait until its retrograde is over though- and so on...

Tonight I used the energies of Mars. I really wanted its soldier vibe to absolutely destroy something about myself I was really unhappy with.

Anyway here is the spell I did. Feel free to use it, modify it with what works best for you, make it your own ~

Write and burn away spell

Needed :

- Salt (for circle)

- Candle (use black if you'd like) & Matches

- A bowl - Heat resistant!

- Paper and pen

- (Optional) Wheel of planets & Crystals

Steps :

Before starting the spell, write on a piece of paper what you want to let go or get rid of :

"By the energy of this waning moon (and the energy of ...), I am getting rid of ..... that I demonstrate/have/feel. Tonight it is burning away and destroyed into oblivion. Starting tomorrow ... (insert here how you will feel or live without the burden of the issue you are experiencing). As I hurt none so be it."

Cast your circle the way you usually do

Place the wheel of planet at the center of the altar and put crystals on the planets to call

Place the candle at the center of the wheel of planet and light it

Channel the energies of the moon and planet/constellations you want to use

Once it is done, read your paper and let it burn in the bowl, visualizing the issue you have being turned to ashes

After the paper is entirely burned, light off the candle and let your altar sit as it is

Channel back the energies you borrowed and thank them

Open your circle the way you usually do

Next morning empty the ashes from the bowl, put them in a sachet, a paper or whatever and throw it in a public garbage bean far from your home.

You are done ~

Mercury retrograde in Scorpio - Oct. 31st -> Nov 20th

While we were celebrating Samhain (or not it's absolutely fine too), we entered Mercury's retrograde cycle in Scorpio and I wanted to do a little article about this bad boy and its spooky reputation. Because let's be honest, we are all a little anxious here. "Big up to all the witches hanging on their crystals right now".

First of all, for those who wouldn't know, or care, a retrograde occurs when a planet starts to move slower than the Earth, giving the illusion that it is going backward.

Easy.

During a retrograde cycle, a Celestial Body's expressions are emphasized and shifted a little for us to take time on some reflection, evaluation, introspection... Kind of what we usually do during the Dark Days of the years.

Of course, the sign the Planet will be transitting in again will "decide" what is going to be put under the microscope for us to study.

So what does this Mercury Rx in Scorpio has in stock for us ?

I see so many witches or astrolovers litterally loosing their sh!ts when it comes to this retrograde. Though I do enjoy a good meme or two about it. And it is a shame because Mercury Rx isn't just about that.

Yes Mercury is rulling communication, technologies, travel and money so we are expecting some misunderstandings, money issues, troubles and so... You can read articles like this on aaaaaaall the internet and they are not wrong.

For example it is best to keep new projects for later. But it doesn't mean the current ones will rot and end up in the trash !

Actually, Mercury Rx brings back things from the past and put the issues we are having (and often do not want to deal with) right in front of our face so that we don't have a choice but to do something about them.

Mercury is in fact "helping" us solve problems that are already there. It doesn't bring them to us. But it does in a savage way like, if I were Mercury I would help a child learning how to swim by throwing him in a lake and show the moves from the deck. "Do the frog with your legs Steven !"

Anyhow, this cycle Mercury goes back to Scorpio, ruled by Pluto so this Rx is going to be DEEP.

Everything that is hidden bellow the surface will come to light, alongside with emotional matters. Mercury Rx in Scorpio will make us seek truth and dive into our close relationships, sex lives etc...

Get ready to kick out of your life the people that does not bring you happiness anymore, to share what you truly feel or want with your loved ones, to look at what you've accomplished until now and search for a way to improve your life...

It will not be a retrograde as hard as the other Mercury Rx. We just have to go with the flow as we have no choice, and try to solve any matter that is left at our front door. Swipe! That! Mat! And get ready for a new start.
