FIONNA AND CAKE SEASON 2 GREENLIT

What now? I just finished the Fionna and Cake spin-off series and it was so good from start to finish! I loved Adventure Time and was thrilled when the first episodes with Fionna and Cake aired. I'm so glad that they decided to make an opening for this spin-off to be born before the original AT ended. This spin-off tied things up beautifully, Fionna and Cake's world still exists, we see Farm World again post Ice Finn, a lot of foul language and flipping of the bird, and at long last we get a happy Simon Petrikov and some closure with the whole GOLB Betty situation. It was a great story with a happy ending, but part of me wishes for more. More of Marshall and Gary, Hunter and Fionna, and Simon enjoying life and going on his own adventures... sometimes there's not room for more, it could just pointlessly drag out the story and stop bringing joy. Whether we get more or not, I'm so glad Fionna and Cake got this wonderful spin-off series.

Now excuse me as I bury my face into one of my cats and figure out what to do with my life now.

Perhaps these movie aren't comparable, but we're having a petty and dumb argument at work going on a year now (both sides have only seen one of those movies and keep doubling down and refusong to watch the other) and I just want some outside opinions. Just having some fun and hoping to razz my coworkers taste in comedy.

How about that Nintendo Direct eh?

If I had a nickel for every mystery solving puzzle game title which gained popularity through Nintendo handhelds that are tangentially linked via the Ace Attorney series and are getting a big Switch outing this year I would have two nickels.  Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.

I just finished the most recent Tiger & Bunny season and I just.... it was good, I loved it, but.... I NEED MORE!!! Why are there so many unanswered questions?!? What about Ouroboros? What will Kotetsu do now? What about Barnaby's injury? What about Subaru making lasagna for Thomas? What about Antonio's gift for Agnes? WHAT ABOUT KOTETSU AND BARNABY FINALLY HAVING AN UNINTERRUPTED DINNER DATE???

I don't know how there could be more, but if this show can come back a decade after season one, maybe it will come back again... I'm off to find fix-it fanfics and swim in all the Tiger & Bunny fanart I can find (bless you artists, you're all doing great). Stay strong fandom! Over and out!

Violet Evergarden is such a beautiful series. I watched the original anime series years ago and shedded tears every episode if not flat out ugly cried. Since then I watched the two specials and finally sat down to watch the movie that was released in 2020. The specials made me sob plenty, but this movie I hardly spent more than a few minutes at a time with dry eyes. Maybe I've just become a sentimental thirty year old lady, but the different types of love carried in this series are all so beautiful. Whether it was a love I understood or didn't, I felt so much from the stories that were told.

I've thought a lot about love and feelings since turning 30. I decided I would no longer live to work after leaving a job that was sucking the life out of me. Unlike Violet, I understand some types of "I love you". I know the love for family that feels too big to say aloud so you end the call with an automatic "bye, love you" to make sure it's out there if it's too hard to speak deeply or specifically about it. I know the love I have for my friends and the love they give back whether it's telling me to let them know when I get home safe or a hug that lifts one of us (usually me with my stick arms and legs) off the ground or simply saying "I love you" at the end of a call and echoing it back. I still don't quite understand the romantic love though, if I'm even capable or what past crushes would come close to love. It sounds like a beautiful kind of love that can break your heart and make it whole and I'd be lying if I didn't feel for the characters who didn't get a chance to confess or reunite with the person they were in love with. I hope to understand that kind of love someday, it's just difficult to explore what you're not sure you're even capable of feeling. Even if I don't, I am grateful for the love I do receive and the love I'm able to give.

I feel like this movie was a perfect end for Violet Evergarden. It wrapped up a lose end beautifully. I could've gone without the call back to the one episode that had been one of the times I cried the most from this series before watching the movie, but it was a wonderful type of closure and a fitting way to carry this last story of Violet Evergarden. It was wonderful to have a series that told such beautiful and heartfelt stories. Now excuse me as I get a mop and bucket to clean up my flood of tears.
