I now have a degree in Games Design! It has been a long journey to get to this point but I am hoping it is just the beginning of many more adventures! ✨
I couldn't be more grateful to my friends and family for their support, and of course my games design family! I have been so lucky to meet and work alongside such talented people, I hope to work with them again in industry someday!
It's almost time for the Games Design Degree Show!
Everyone is welcome if you would like to see what I have been working on throughout the year, you will also get to look at the work of the other students across a number of specialisms who have made incredible projects!
Visit any weekday 10am-5pm between 9-26 June.
Located at the Victoria Building, 74 Lawson St, Preston, PR1 2XQ.
With the final year of the course coming to an end, we will have a degree show to display our work! Once I have more information on the public show I will post here, but I figured I would share my show reel of what I have been working on!
I realised that I never posted the finished renders of the game I made! So here are those renders, as I have mentioned before I modelled and textured everything here. I think that the textures being done in watercolour first was a good idea and I am pretty happy with how it turned out!
Another addition to my deity project! This is a Justice Deity. I definitely wanted him to look almost like an executioner, with medieval inspiration for the armour.
I really enjoyed playing around with a more painterly style and not worry so much about blending everything together to look super smooth!
Some before and afters of a game I made, managed to model a lot more assets and get them all textured. It looks so much better now!
Every texture I made I painted in watercolour first, then took everything into Photoshop to set up the textures before setting up materials. A lot of work but I am really happy with the results!
I'm going to do some proper renders soon of all the models, but I just wanted to show the before and after images 😄
I completed another illustration as part of my deity series! This is a deity of time.
It is two characters who work together to travel through and control time. I had a lot of fun designing these characters, I wanted to lean into the clockwork concept for the first character, with the second character with more of a magic influence, being able to open portals to different points in time.
It was fun designing two characters that work together rather than just the one!
I recently finished another illustration! I designed another deity character, this one is a deity of nature.
My thought process sort of was along the lines of revenge of nature, with a deer skull and oil covering the body. I wanted to represent the damage humanity does to the planet through this design.
I feel like my understanding of effective lighting is definitely improving, I am really happy with how it turned out! Now we move on to the next design 🎉
The first illustration for my honours project is done!
*technically it's been done for a week but I've felt too nervous to post 😂*
It's part of a collection of character designs I want to do, all of which will be deities based on a variety of concepts.
So this character is the Spirit Deity, she would steal spirits from others as she hasn't got her own so she takes them from people. I am pretty happy with the outcome!
My prints have dropped in price! I have changed my printing supplier so I could make my art more affordable, so now for 4x6 inches it's £5.99 and for 8x12 it's £10.99!
The paper I'm using is glossy, so it gives a shine to the prints ✨
And that's the update! With that said, if you are interested in ordering a print, you can do so on the following link:
This is an old sketch I created of a witch character. I touched on character design a little bit at uni and I really enjoyed it. So I wanted to draw this as a bit of an experiment!
It's from years ago, but I'd definitely love to draw her again now!
Hey everyone! So I'm finally ready to announce the charity stream!
It'll start at 10am GMT on 28/05/22, I'll be aiming to stream for 12 hours!
I'll be playing all sorts of games on the GameCube, N64 and even the Wii!
So head over to twitch.tv/cosynoodle to watch on the day!
I decided to do this event after hearing the leaked draft majority opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade - If the Supreme Court adopts this opinion, then 23 states in the US will either restrict or ban abortions.
This means that approximately half of women in the U.S can expect to live in states where abortion is banned or greatly restricted.
This is extremely frightening news, access to safe and legal abortions is essential.
Funds raised will be donated to the National Network of Abortion Funds which helps to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion, which is even more crucial than ever right now.
If you are wanting to learn more, I've gone into further detail on the JustGiving page.
With that all said, if you are looking to donate to the National Network of Abortion Funds you can either do so directly on their site https://abortionfunds.org or if you want to contribute to our running total on the stream you can donate on the JustGiving page!
Hope you can stop by during the stream, see you then!
