I haven't prayed to god in a church in ages. I pray in libraries, in fields, in the summer heat and in the first bite of a warm meal.

I don't pray to god anymore, I don't think I ever did.

I pray to the world around me, to the bugs in the fields, the sunflowers on the side of the road, the water in my garden and to the rain coming down.

A myth before the soul enters Earth

They knew they wouldn’t remember, as soon as blood would run through their veins, as if it were Lethe of the waters of Hades. “And?” The gentle voice of the love-rich mother asked them again. The soul had known that already, yes. But that’s why they came here, right? To lose oneself, the journey home and the deep-rooted self-love that would accrue. That kind of love they knew. Yet now they are mixed with the opportunity to learn and grow closer to themselves. “Will you be with me?” This time Aphrodite's smile brighten before she cupped the cheeks of the clay body. „My child, call out, and you shall receive my guiding hands above you. You shall never be truly alone in our world, this I vow. “Helios high above will greet you at days beginning before his sister takes over. If you don't see Selene, you’ll meet the stars, and if the stars don’t meet you, our king surely will.“ The soul looked immensely relieved that they could meet the gods anytime they needed in their journey. Aphrodite created the last strand of hair on their legs. “Remember, you belong to us gods, and to the gods you shall return by Hermes hand.”

A silly dream i had about lady aphrodite.

now, i don’t exactly KNOW why she made me dream such thing — i suspect i was in the astral, actually — but i NEED to let you all read this one.

in this dream i was in my bed, there was lady aphrodite with me. i don’t remember what exactly happened afterwards, but my intuition told me, after the dream, that she might’ve tickled me 😴 because i remember i suddenly fell off the bed and was with my ass on the fucking ground and she looked at me, LAUGHED HER ASS OFF, and gave me a hand to get up again.

i totally agree! i don’t like when people go against someone for using certain terms that aren’t BIG in the community, or for just doing things that people usually don’t do.

everyone has their practice and their way of expressing it, the important thing is that they stay respectful to the gods, worshipping them or not — for example, i always keep a respectful demeanor with christianity and the other abrahamic religions and their gods, even though i never worshipped them, because they remain gods and a beliefs still —. i love this religion because everyone has freedom, and i sometimes hate its followers because they do not recognize nor accept the freedom everyone holds.

such a shame, huh? but i love your way of taking your relationship with the gods. it is very creative and also shows respect :)

hi i'm not really all that new to this sort of thing but i keep seeing people use the term "deity work" and i don't exactly understand what it means? like what is it, what does it entail, how is it different from deity worship? could you explain? thank you so much

OBVIOUSLY! let’s start with saying that i’m happy you asked, sometimes, unfortunately, people stay silent even though they don’t understand something and it’s really a shame. i’m really happy you took a step and chose to ask. but i would also like to say: everyone has their own definitions and ways to use them, paganism doesn’t have a shape, it is moldable and that’s the fun of bein pagan! some people might not agree with my point of view, but i’ll let you know of it.

What is deity work? What makes it different from deity worship?

deity work is a practice in which you form a relationship with a deity, which will take form with the time passing. it is stable, they help you in something, maybe shadow work or self-love. it is a giving and receiving type of thing that can be really consistent, and basically you get closer to a deity. the deity will influence your workings and life with their energy, with their signs, and will obviously help you out when they want and can, mostly focusing in aspects of your life that they wanna help you with, most of the times those aspects are very connected to the deities themselves (example: lady aphrodite helps me in love and self-love matters, lady persephone helps me when i need to let something “die”, making me understand i need to let go.).

deity worship is, instead, a casual relationship, where you offer things to the gods, prayers, food, etc, you can get close to them, you can receive their blessings and sometimes help in your worship, but what i’m trying to say is that it is more casual and less intimate, less consistent, they usually don’t interfere much in your life until they offer you to WORK with them, or viceversa and the offer is accepted by both parts.

hope this helps :) it is your choice to get my concept of things and follow it, or make something completely yours! it’s your practice.

am i the only one who thinks about the fact gods are in their home? like, what do you mean gods visit me? they look at my room, my bed, my clothes, the mess that i make on my couch with all my plushies and clothes, random bras and socks that i didn’t like thrown around…and my parent’s bedroom and all their shiny jewels and cute sculptures, the living room and its coziness, the kitchen and its persistent smell of homecooked food? do they like it? what do they think? in the end, it’s just like when a important person visits you. you can’t do anything but hope it is cosy for them.
