AUGH OKAY so. it literally all came from a silly one-shot i wrote because i was so fascinated with a rave experience i had in germany (while i was first and foremost visiting mainly to see ghost) that i needed to get out of my head. ever since i became enamoured with german culture (particularly music and fashion) as a preteen, i’ve always wanted to visit and so it was honestly a two birds with one stone sort of trip for me! in it, i projected a lot of my own experiences (of being a foreigner, boldly trying new things alone) onto perpetua, and i also wanted to work in that idea of meeting your idol as well. but since pet is a little shit, of course it becomes a bit of a power game for him. i was also just dreading going back home (since i wrote it while waiting in the airport), so that theme of “i have to let loose and have fun and because i need be responsible again after” is also there for a reason.
