Writing is not always writing.

Writing is being on the train and mentally seeing your OCs stumble into other people, or flinching away from the germ-ridden handrails, or sleeping on each others’ shoulders.

Writing is hearing a song on the radio and watching one of your scenes play out to the lyrics.

Writing is laying on your floor or sitting by your computer and spending hours collaging newspaper clippings or pictures or people or plants together and making something that is completely, uniquely, your story.

Writing is drawing your characters in your notebooks, and making tea only your one, picky character would drink, and writing an open letter to all your characters just to remind them you love them.

Writing is moodboards, and playlists, and crafts, and asks, and prompts, and pictures, and memories, and you.

So never think that just because you’re not putting words on a page, you’re not a real writer. Writing is something that follows you everywhere, beyond the word document, and beyond the screen.

Because writing isn’t something you do. It’s something you are.

What the fuck is wrong with me why do i keep making up new AUs instead of finishing the ones I ALREADY HAVE

I get why ppl are leaving tumblr but ive never deleted an account for anything in my life and if tumblr wants me to leave theyre going to have to kill me themselves

Okay, so here’s where I’m at with the flagged posts situation. I can’t find them. I’ve scrolled through all the posts ever for this blog and nothing is coming up as flagged. But, there are posts that are missing. Just gone from my posts. But if I click on them in my notes they show up on this blog? And nothing there says that they’re flagged. I also haven’t gotten any emails about posts being flagged or removed. So I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m trying to figure it out, and I’ll keep you guys posted.

What this means for me is that if you know a post has been flagged, please let me know, because as of right now, there’s no way for me to find out. Then I can start trying to get them reviewed so they can stay.

Hello! I don't know if it's from the new filtering system being put into place or if they're from when Safe Mode was forced, but I saw that several of my submissions for CS Hiatus Challenge (and possibly other people's idk) have been flagged as explicit even though they're not. I don't know how much of a pain it is to appeal or if it's a simple click for review like with safe mode, but if it's easy, could you please appeal them so they're not hidden and so neither of us get in trouble? Thanks!

Hey there! I hope you don’t mind me answering this publicly, but I wanted any other concerned authors to be able to see this. 

I will absolutely do everything in my power to make sure your content is kept. I don’t agree with what tumblr is doing (even if I understand why it’s happening), so I will gladly fight for anyone’s right to create explicit content. (Of course, I will also fight for any falsely-identified content.) I’ll try to keep monitoring the content on this site, but please, please if you notice that your content has been flagged, let me know so I can fight it.

Per staff’s official guidelines about the purge, writing should not be affected, nor should artwork, since only “real-life” visual representations are being deemed NSFW. 

There are a few petitions going around to stop this. I have no idea if they will be effective, but here’s the one I signed if anyone is interested.

I’ll do my best for you guys, and if tumblr follows their own rules, nothing you guys have posted should be taken down.

Big news!

Alright guys so here’s what I’m thinking. I’d like to sort of repurpose this blog and start using it again, start promoting all the beautiful content that people create. I’d like to keep the challenges going to an extent (gotta keep some aspects of this), maybe in the form of like monthly challenges. But, I don’t think I can do it all myself, so I’m looking for some interested people to join up, network style. As always, while this blog is focused on CS, we absolutely and always welcome content for any other ouat characters and ships.

What I’m looking for are people who can help me find and reblog content, as well as create new content. Ideally this means you are:

– an avid reader or consumer of CS/OUAT content – a creator/writer/artist – someone who spends a decent amount of time on here (like many of us, I spend more time than I should) – someone with fun ideas for things we can do (awards, spotlights, challenges, etc)

If this interests you, please do the following:

– make sure you’re following this blog – head over to the submit page and send me (1) your name, (2) your url, (3) what kind of content you create, if any, (4) a sentence or two on why you’d like to be a part of this, and (5, optionally) an idea or two for challenges – reblog this post to help spread the news!

“Hooked”

This is really just a short little drabble that came to me right after the 3a midseason finale “Going Home” aired.  That was such a good (and painful) twist, and I was going CRAZY waiting until the March return that year.  This one is short – but I’ve always been partial to it.

           Though she has tried to fight it – to deny that Fate could be this cruel – the moment has come all too quickly.  Everything is jumbled, panicked, happening too fast for her to catch her breath or respond as she would like.  They learned only moments before that imminent disaster is bearing down on them, and already Emma has had to jump into action without the benefit of time to reconcile her emotions.  Looking around at the first true friends she has ever made and the parents she had always wished for, it seems impossible that she is about to leave them all behind.

           But then her eyes find Killian’s, and she wants to scream at Regina, Pan, Rumplestiltskin, anyone whose power and twisted intent has moved her like a cosmic chess piece her entire life. The unfairness of it almost staggers her.  She has only just found this man, just begun to allow him past her walls.  Now is when the fun was supposed to begin… She can hardly breathe, the pain is so sudden and unexpected; as though someone striking her square in the chest and rendering her unable to draw air.

           She watches Henry say goodbye to Neal, watches him cling to Regina for a moment, still strikingly young for all his maturity and all that he has survived. It brings quick tears to Emma’s eyes to see him comfort the Evil Queen, whose own grief runs unashamedly down her cheeks.  It is one of the few times Emma has truly seen through Regina’s impeccable veneer. Henry is all the woman has; for her to give him up to Emma in his best interest makes Emma both feel for Regina and respect her in a way that she has not thought possible until this very moment.

           Then, it seems like time skips and leaps forward again.  They can see flickers of light and billows of green smoke creeping inexorably toward them.  Snow urges her gently, a maternal hand smoothing her hair one last time as Emma’s eyes fall closed to savor the fleeting comfort. I should have always had this, she thinks with bitter longing. How am I supposed to give it up now?

The OUAT Fandom Choice Awards Welcomes You ALL!

Welcome to the OUAT Fandom Choice Awards!  A show of recognition, thanks and general joy for all of us in the OUAT fandom!

A few of us got together and figured that with all of the glorious content this fandom has to offer each of us, we should make a fandom-wide voting style poll to give out some kudos for everything that has made our fandom what it is today!

We want your nominations for your favorite fics, your favorite fanart, and even your favorite fandom folk so we can share it to the masses!  After all, what better way of thanking your favorite people than with a little nomination to tell them you think so!

At present, we have no timeline of events for this because all we suspect is we shall get inundated with nominations for several categories!  This is good!  So please bear with us whilst we sort all of your nominees accordingly!  THEN we shall have a timeline for voting!

It is open to ALL ships and each category will expand on those - CS vs CS, CC vs CC, etc.  It’s not fair that one ship should dominate any other and likewise it is unfair they should be opposed during a vote.  We are aiming to make this as fair as possible, starting with it being completely anon!

The admins, the nominations, the voting!  Everything is anonymous.  No one will see who you vote for, who you nominate and all information will be shared with everyone!  We are trying to make this 100% fun, so if you have any suggestions, please send us an ask!
