Laios - fighter. Later multiclasses as paladin bc of the winged lion, and his healing spell fits nicely as Lay on Hands

Marcille - mage, started multiclassing as warlock by the final stretch tho

Falin - not cleric! She doesn't have a deity! She does, however, have an affinity to the nature, so I propose mage necromancer with druid multiclass

Chilchuck - rogue through and through

Senshi - his built and weapon says barbarian, his calling says ranger

Izutsumi - also rogue. Unless in another edition there was something more precise for a ninja cat to be?

Everyone: Laios is a generic blond human fighter!

Laios: Learns healing magic, can sense the presence of undead when nobody else can, is constantly being contacted by a higher power.

The concept of someone seeing how you came back wrong, how you're a "monster" now, and being like that's the coolest thing I've ever seen...there's literally no possible situation where Falin isn't loved and valued is there that's just not possible no matter what

Don't you think it's fucked up this chapter starts with Laios saying if he were to become a monster he'd carry Falin on his back bc she wanted to go with him and... goes on to the fact Laios had to get on HER back to brace himself while he strangles her. Actually this isn't a question it's just trueaaaaargh. He says he'd fly away and abandon everyone he knows but of course he'd let her come. And then she goes and adds everyone they like anyway (the animals). But now he's with everyone else he loves and must risk leaving her behind forever. Oh god the feelings are actually kicking in, a month after I read this

actually I'm not done with this. Shuro is so painfully straight that he chases a lesbian while he had Laios wagging his tail at the sight of Shuro all this time. Maybe not before the fight, but if he were a little less straight, he could have it so good by now. Skill issue. Couldn't be me

In any other series the fact the objects of their affections don't say anything (Kabru actually teases Rin about it) is as good as making the ship canon, but oh no not here. Here the straights get "she's like an older sister to me" and "he's a serious person"

Either way, this episode's biggest victim was the subs not adding in Laios' speech about how they're better rested and well-fed than Shuro the conclusion of "therefore we're more serious about this than you". If that wasn't cut out entirely, that is

come ON, guys. they didn't cut Kabru thinking it'd be bad to get caught up in Shuro's fight, they left it to next episode bc that's the reasoning for the way the rest of the scene, that will only happen later, will unfold
