Red String Theory: Now You Has Jazz

Plot: In a blink of an eye, Alex Jordan was thrown from her peaceful hike in the Canadian Rockies right into the middle of the Battle of Wakanda. Alex finds herself sucked into a world she's seen on the big screen, alongside superheroes and villains. Heroes who start turning to dust in front of her! Only, things don't quite go as she remembers in the movies. As she tries to find her footing in this new reality, she finds herself drawn to Sam Wilson, the man tapped to be the next Captain America. But this isn't the movies, this is a real man with real challenges ahead of him. Now she's helping Sam feel worthy of a legacy he never asked for, while trying to figure out her new-found powers that seem to be linked to the Reality Stone itself.

Alex's chapter titles are based on jazz songs.

First time I've shared anything for Six Sentence Sunday in quite a while. Obviously, this is going to be more than six sentences. It's going to be from my Star Wars OC Kalara fic. It's very rough draft, so be gentle with me.

Kalara heard the hard, final note in his voice.  She frowns.  Why was this Nightsister allowing her maleling to tell her what to do? The bounty hunters stare at the girl.  Kalara glances between the two.  With his helmet on, she can’t see his face.  But Kalara senses his confusion; the same confusion on the woman’s pale, sharp features. “Sorry, kid, but we don’t speak… whatever that was.  You wanna try that again in Basic?” Kalara blinks.  What? Her stomach tightens.  She realizes a few things.  First, she spoke her thoughts.  Second, this woman isn’t a Nightsister.  She’s some kind of alien.  An offworlder.  The armored man must be one, too. Kalara feels like she’s going to be sick.  Her heart races.  She can’t breathe.  This strange room is spinning. The man pushes the alien woman out of the way.  He crouches down in front of her.  Kalara tries to scoot or crawl away, but the effort is too much. "Get away from me," she warns him.  Or she tries.  Kalara’s head is pounding as fast and hard as her heart.  She isn’t sure if the words came out or not, nor whether it was in her native Dathomiri or the Basic tongue. The man takes off his helmet.  Human.  He’s human. The man speaks.  She can’t hear the words.  The last thing she sees is his face.  Tanned skin.  Dark eyes, dark hair.  Everything goes black.

She leaned back against Severus, letting her head rest against his chest.  “I have to tell him.  There’ll be too many people waiting here to tell him he’s a Potter by blood if not by name. And I have to tell him that he’s not.  Because my parents… never accepted that we were married and that he was born.  Not even when they lost James and Lily, and Harry was sent off to those awful relatives of Lily’s.  He wasn’t even better than nothing to them.” 

She…., well, she was always just a means to an end to them.  She was supposed to marry rich and take care of them in their old age while they gave everything they had to James to ‘carry on the family business.’

But she’d marry someone poor, desperately poor.  They didn’t see Severus’s potential, just his blood status and Gringott’s vault balance.  They didn’t even care that he was known as a Death Eater, just that he was poor.  They would have married her off to Voldemort himself if he had enough money and magical blood to be acceptable.

I won't stop saying it: in fanfic-writing, you make your own rules. Write whatever the fuck you want to write

Sometimes it's that you haven't written that fanfic of that genre yet because you don't have confidence in your writing talents, or you have some learning and improving to do in your writing, or you're afraid of the audience reception.

Sometimes it's also just that the said genre is not for you. Write what you're confident in and what makes you happy. It's okay to leave the rest alone.

Unless you're receiving payment to diversify and to be more creative and to "impress", you have every right to stick to your comfort zone.

Write the same fanfic five times with five different endings. Write one genre of fanfics. Write all genres ever known to man. Write for 75 fandoms. Write for one fandom. Update once a year. Update every hour. Write only 200-chaptered stories. Write only drabbles. Write the tamest stuff. Write the kinkiest stuff(tags exist for a reason). Write different love stories for one character you love. Use the same lines or words.

Do anything and everything as long as you're happy and having fun. If there are too many negative emotions(fear, self-doubt, mental stress, worry, anxiety, overthinking, etc.) attached to your writing, then you're probably taking it too seriously.

Nobody has the write to shake your fanfic-writing peace and make you doubt how great of a writer you are, not even YOURSELF or YOUR READERS. This shit is free and meant to be for fun and relaxation.
