i've had grindeldore on the brain (obviously lol) and

there's different kinds of blood pacts. ones to make two unrelated people be related by blood. ones to join a group of friends as blood brothers. the one gellert proposed is one specifically meant for marriage between feuding families. like, two noble families trying to end a war between their lands and marrying off two of their kids, but they dont trust each other and use the blood pact to protect their kids from being murdered in their bed kind of thing.

albus 'i saw the red flags and thought they were sexy' dumbledore was too enamoured by gellert low key proposing (kids you are 16 and 17) that he completely and purposefully ignored the dark side of this specific pact

funniest albus and newt dynamic is albus having sort of parental feelings towards newt but newt flat out having a crush at times. love it when people are a bit in mismatch on what they are to each other.

what about golden child theseus becoming the scapegoat after the war. their parents don’t want to be affiliated with a murderer and statue breaker, the decree is still active, he only becomes a war hero a few years later when the dust is settled and the world actually reflects on what the rebels did. what about them coming from a quiet and cosy “we don’t talk about things” family where gentleness and tenderness is cultivated, and theseus comes home as this jagged traumatised thing that doesn’t fit, and they stop talking to him.

he climbs the ranks of the ministry and it’s all excellent but no matter how softly spoken or huggy or affectionate he is, everyone’s still a little on edge, maybe horrified if he fought like a muggle and had to take lives like a muggle. and leta is fine with that, because she also sees herself as a murderer, but newt never fully forgives theseus for what he sees as chasing glory…
