I've been finding Curt a little difficult to draw but I thought he'd fit in a sort of Leyendecker style so I wanted to try it

I had silent movies on while drawing so I sketched Buster Keaton but he looked too much like a tumblr OC

So i drew him again from a reference and now i have 2 bad drawings of him using every marker and pencil at my disposal

oc social media posts (circa. 1927). a sprinkle of lore under the cut

1-2. divina and monsieur magnifique do not get along anymore. they've known each other for 10 years and used to live together back in paris, when they were both making ends meet as street performers long before they joined the carnaval du mystique. they're the only two performers who knew each other before joining the troupe. they had a falling out after divina was monsieur magnifique's magician's assistant for a show that one time. operative word: one time.

3. barta, the carnival's strongwoman, has a sort of on and off situationship with lady henriette, the beloved seer and medium. because henriette can see the future (specifically everyone's future but her own), she doesn't really love the idea of being committed to anyone, but also if you think that's going to stop barta you'd be wrong.

4. jeremiah gale just wants to get home to see his wife, but he's stuck performing at the traveling carnival on account of... being dead. he's a walking, talking corpse that the carnaval dug up back in the states so he owes them a debt. but also going back home in general isn't the wisest decision when he's supposed to be dead. he died in the late 1800s and he's the only american participant in the carnival, so of course they made him the western gunslinger; mirage and monsieur magnifique try to get him to say all sorts of stereotypical catchphrases like "yeehaw" and "yippee ki-yay" even though he's never heard anyone say any of that in his entire living life.

5. they're all queer, that's pretty self-explanatory.

6. wherever they travel, the police get on their case. it doesn't help that where ever they go, there's a string of murders, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with them.

7. the ringleader is in charge of the traveling carnaval, and it has a habit of collecting strange people with strange abilities and having them join its troupe. when monsieur magnifique was a street performer, even before he knew divina, the ringleader would not stop pestering him

Fishworks Princess

My new character Ishi

For some reason I want to call her Ishi.

She is an acquaintance and former colleague of Martina (a sea hunter who also used to work at a fish work, maybe you do remember her from my other paintings). She's an adult with angry baby face, and also a very productive worker.

She has a unique taste in clothes and spends her salary on strange lolita-like styles (there is no such thing in their world, but to get the idea right), which she mostly wears at home.

She hates the Fish Town with passion, but she can't leave it either, because whenever she goes to the Big City, he feels like a total stranger there, especially with her outfits, which are not part of the local fashion there either.

Despite her appearance, she is not detached from reality and does not seek to escape from it, an irritable person, but reasonable in communication
