Some ramblings.
So, to bridge the gap between so called “haters” and the shifting community, I’d like to say something to everyone in the shifting community that’s received a specific kind of message.
“The reality shifting trend is dangerous.”
These people, misguided as they are in their methods, are trying to help people. And I do know exactly why.
I’d like to preface the sharing of this link by saying PLEASE do not send this person any hate. Please don’t comment anything horrid or mean or standoffish. First of all, that only solidifies the point this group of people is trying to make, and secondly, the last thing I want to do is spread any negativity in the world whether from this community or to it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGfzdV6eyto
This video speaks specifically about maladaptive daydreaming and the call of the human mind to create. The creator talks about how as a child, they would play with their siblings by imagining what would essentially be the reality shift we’ve seen in media like books and movies. This was a coping mechanism designed by trauma and dissociation, otherwise known as maladaptive daydreaming.
As someone with maladaptive daydreaming also due to trauma and dissociation, I find the story hits close to home. I told those same stories to my own siblings. There was this little sealed off opening in my childhood bedroom. It was probably some sort of crawlspace, but I imagined it as a door to a place I could hide and play with other little kids all running from their parents too.
This coping mechanism saved my life. There were plenty of chilly winters and I lived in a very dangerous part of town. If I had run away, I wouldn’t be here now.
Maladaptive daydreaming is an escape method carefully designed by the brain to keep you rooted in place while also taking your mind somewhere else. It’s almost always caused by trauma. And for a lot of us, isn’t that why we’re trying to shift?
However, daydreaming, like any other coping mechanism (aside from the obvious few) is only harmful when in excess. This maladaptive daydreaming theory presented by this group of people assumes that reality shifting in and of itself requires the person to be a maladaptive daydreamer, eating, drinking, and breathing nothing but daydreams about our DRs. And maybe for some of us that’s true.
I said I’d bridge the gap, and that’s what I’m going to do. These people are trying to help, and maybe we should listen to them just a little bit. To that end, I’m going to say this: If you notice that your daydreams about your DR are starting to negatively impact your ability to engage with life in this reality, please take a break. It’s in your best interest. Shifting should not come at the cost of your health. That is not what anyone in this community should ever want for you. If anyone tells you any different. If anyone says it’s a sign that you’re close or that if you take a break you’ll lose progress, they are wrong. Take care of your health.

i never want to contribute to toxic positivity so i want to acknowledge that sometimes things just suck and there isn’t a bright side. the best thing you can do in those times is take care of yourself as much as possible. maybe that means just brushing your teeth, drinking some water or calling up a friend. you don’t always have to be grateful for where you are in life. sometimes you have to get through some hard shit first, but i know that you’re capable of doing it.

The “Mirror, Mirror” Shifting Method
This method has a couple parts to it so bear with me here, I promise it’s a good one. (Hopefully)
Mind Reprogramming (daily task)
Awake Method
or Sleep Method
Part I - Mind Reprogramming
This is the most important part of the method, so pay attention carefully.
If you’ve ever been to the spooky side of the internet, or even played spooky games at a sleepover you’ll probably have heard of the game I’m about to describe. If not, don’t worry, as I said, I’m about to describe it.
Basically, how the game works is you go into a room (usually a bathroom) that has a big enough mirror in it. You close the door, shut any window blinds, turn off the lights - basically make sure it’s pitch black and completely dark. Then the game gets spooky because your mind fills in the blanks and makes like, eyes behind you or warps your features. Some people control it and change their surroundings to purposefully scare themselves or others when recounting their time.
The Reprogramming works in a similar way/works off of this.
To reprogram your mind, go into the pitch dark room with the mirror and stand in front of it like in the game. Instead of spooky things, however, imagine you look like your DRself. Basically, help your mind “fill in the blanks” and spend 10-15 minutes doing this and “seeing” your DRself in the mirror. You can go as far as trying to invision the bathroom/equivalent room and getting it to look like the one in your DR.
I suggest doing this 3-5 times a day in order to reprogram your mind and get it used to seeing this DRself and associating it as being you. (Because it is.)
Part II - The Awake Method
This is method ½ and is for if you prefer or want to try doing it as an Awake Method. Sit in a comfortable spot, on a bed, in a chair, on your couch, wherever it is you want to shift. Then take some deep breaths and close your eyes. Start visualizing, you can affirm if you’d like to during the method, but you don’t have to. It’s recommended to affirm before beginning.
With your eyes closed, visualize yourself (in first or third person, however is easiest for you) exactly as you are in your CR. You’re in the room with the mirror, the one from the CR, but it looks bright in your mind’s eye. Visualize that the room is lit, basically. Now visualize yourself approaching the mirror.
At the mirror you see your DRself (the one you’ve been seeing in step 1) and they mirror your actions. They look just like your mind remembers. Then, visualize the bathroom behind them. Visualize them reaching through the mirror slowly, affirming that you are them, and offering you their hand. Visualize that they ask if you are ready.
If you aren’t ready allow your DRself to continue affirming that you are shifting to them. If you are ready then take their hand and try as hard as you can to visualize the entirety of that bathroom. Imagine them pulling you through and you fall into them, colliding and lying on the floor of your DR. Visualize yourself getting up and looking in the mirror. You see only your DR bathroom behind you in the mirror, and you are your DRself in the mirror.
Take a breath and close your eyes. Do a final round of affirming as your DRself, then open your eyes and see that you’ve shifted.
Part III - The Sleep Method
This is method 2/2 and is a sleep method. To do this method please go lie down on your bed, a couch, or wherever it is you plan to fall asleep and shift. Take some deep breaths and affirm a bit while you calm down. Then close your eyes and do a few more affirmations. It’s just about time to begin visualizing, and you can affirm if you’d like whenever you want during the method, but the only time you really should is towards the end and right before starting the method.
With your eyes closed, visualize yourself (in first or third person, however is easiest for you) exactly as you are in your CR. Visiualize that you’re in the room with the mirror, the one from the CR, but it looks bright in your mind’s eye. Basically, visualize that the room is lit.
Turning to the door of the bathroom, imagine that it attaches to your DR bedroom, and take a moment to visualize that and build it up in your mind’s eye. You are shifting, so it may take a second or two to fully become apparent, and even if you’ve only got a vague clue or a vibe of the bedroom it’ll be fine walk into. Visualize your DRself going to the bed in your DR bedroom and lying in it. Fall asleep in your DR bed repeating the line “I am shifting, I have shifted” or something like it until you fall asleep. When you wake up you will have shifted.
Important Notes:
It is not guaranteed that you will shift with this method, as everyone is different - but the method and the reprogramming will at worst do nothing but familiarize your mind with the image of you as your DRself.
If you have trouble visualizing, don’t worry, visualize whatever feels natural, and don’t linger too much on one spot or another.
You will shift, you have the power to do so. You are capable, and strong, and worthy.

I think every shifter has a thought every two weeks like "damn I'm expecting to wake up in a whole new reality I'm fucking crazy" and then goes on about their day
(btw I'm a shifter this is not an anti shifting post)

Setting an intention = deciding to do something.
Stop overthinking intentions! By definition, intention means, "a thing intended; an aim or plan". Setting an intention is simply just deciding to do something.
"I'm going to eat an apple right now" = a set intention
"I'm going to shift right now" = a set intention
"I'm going to finish my homework" = a set intention
Setting an intention is literally just deciding to do something when you want to. That's all it is! So stop overthinking it! You don't need to meditate and do 100 backflips to set an intention. Literally just make a decision. That's it.
"I'm going to shift. I'm going to manifest. I'm going to the void" yadda yadda and so on and so forth. Those are all set intentions. Just make the decision to do something and chill. I know it seems really easy, and that's because it is. It's not supposed to be hard!

If time isn't real and is a man made construct, it only makes absolute logical sense that you affirm and believe you have everything you desire in this very moment because all you have is right now. You don't have the past or the future, in the 3D. The only physical space you have is right now.

Hi, I've seen you're shifting to Arcane. I'm making a shifting script and I'm curious about your tips about useful things to script. Tbh I'm entirely sure what to script.
Hi! Sorry for the late response I haven't been online that much recently lmao. My Arcane DR goes in a pretty different direction compared to the finale of Act 1 in the canon show, in the sense that Vander never dies and Silco doesn't take control of the underground, so some of these may not apply to if you're shifting to Arcane with little to no story changes, but I hope these help! The first thing I think is really useful is to script that you know everything about the world that a normal citizen of Piltover/Zaun would. Runeterra and Arcane lore are not that touched upon in the show and it seems to be pretty different then in the games (i think, i hate league so don't quote me on that lol), especially about other continents, so it would be pretty useful to have that info. Also, there's a bunch of machinery that doesn't seem to get explained in the show (like that one music box Powder had in ep1), so I would recommend also scripting that you have a basic understanding of those if you're originally from Piltover/Zaun.
I would also recommend to script that you're athletically gifted, can wield weapons with ease, and can run very fast.
I don't really have much other than that at the moment but feel free to ask anything about my scripting process!

struggling is hard. feeling stuck is hard.
but you're not failing, though. because, unless you fully give up and never ever try again, that's... well, it's impossible. no matter what you do, you are bringing yourself closer. with each try, thought, day, you are closer. the one thing in question is when, not if. in fact, you already have it, yk?
everyone can shift. everyone shifts, every day. and all the love there is, do you believe that you're that special that you can't? that you're the single exception? you're not. shifting is not a superpower, it's not something you need to earn or deserve or be somehow 'special' to do.

It’s okay to be angry. You can be frustrated and mad you haven’t shifted yet. It isn’t going to hinder you or anything, it’s healthy to express your emotions.

shifting should be fun. it shouldn't be a duty or something that stresses you out. don't make it a chore. that'll only make you unhappy and overall take away the excitement of the whole thing.
