A little small fic I've started about shiny duo, enjoy :)

"See, you can't quite understand it yet" Pearl spoke, weaving flowers into Gem's curly red hair. Today was a cool, slightly cloudy day, with a soft, slightly salty breeze. She carefully wove the flower so that it would not fall. Gem liked to gesticulate when she spoke about something or explain something so vividly that one could see it as if in reality.

"No, you don't understand! I just can't get that mending, no matter how much I try" Gem's voice sounded frustrated, with high notes that she involuntarily hit when she was angry or upset. Pearl tugged on her locks to keep Gem from tilting slightly to the side. A cool gust of wind ran through the grass, under Pearl's shirt, creeping out through her roughly combed hair in a messy bun, letting her bangs fall over her eyes. But even so, her fingers didn't get tangled in the precise, but gentle movements through Gem's loose hair.

"You planning on fishing? It's a bit stormy" Pearl softly inquired after Gem calmed down slightly after the cries about her unsuccessful catching yesterday.

"Mhmmm I don't know.." She hummed, leaning back slightly and causing Pearl to almost tug at her hair in an attempt to stable her. "Maybeee"

The wind blew a little harder, blowing fog into the town of the Gem base. Grian's docks was almost invisible now.

Pearl chuckled, being in such awkward position that she somehow managed to hold both the flower and the part of Gem's red locks between her fingers while also slightly supporting the girl. "Be careful if so" She didn't understand how this quiet, soft word of care came out. Usually she was not so soft, weak.

"What?" Gem re-asked, simultaneously with a note of surprise and sincere flattery at the gentle warning addressed to her. "What did you say?" she mumbled again, this time not expecting the answer.

I might not finish it, but I started a thing to write and also I have project presentation in two days which is gonna determine a lot, so uh..hope it goes well :)

so yeah, i also thought about a Gem headcannon - she is a voidwalker, and Xisuma is too. How did she join Hermitcraft in s8? Xisuma accidentally found her, lost in the Void and brought to a safe place, cause it was the only thing he could have helped her with to get out of the Void (voidwalkers have to learn and it was Gem's second-third time only)
