"Soft" wasn't a disposition that came easily for Megatron. 'After so many years of commanding respect by being made of stone', one might think, but truly warmth and kindness wasn't something he'd ever been taught to lose. Of course, Optimus was far more practiced at being kind than he was, but more often than not he also kept a certain distance as a leader, a representative of Cybertron for the people of Earth, a palpable beating spark but nevertheless one behind armor.

So how did you manage it?

He'd watch you play with the terrans like you were one of their own siblings... albeit with a little more common sense under your belt. Laughing and hugging and finding little moments to weave lessons into your words without ever seeming like you were talking down to them. Another bot might mistake it for naivete, but Megatron had known you - loved you - for aeons. He knew you'd seen almost as much darkness as he had (some by his own hand - he'd finally began to not let the guilt push you away, but he'd never fully forget that, never take your grace for granted) so how could you now be... like this?

"I'm relaxing because I never got to," you tell him when he finally finds the words to ask you outright. "The war is over. Yes, we're still picking up a few pieces, but I want this next generation to have peace. I...want to finally have peace."

And before he can overthink that, you gently take his hand in both of yours and lead him towards the others. "Peace with you, if you'll let me."

I'd honestly be rather interested match making but I'd just for reference before I send mine in, are there certain details you'd like to be included? How in depth do you want the asks to be?

I'm not really picky about it but at the least make sure you tell me any preferences for gender, faction, and continuity if you have them. Wouldn't want to accidentally erase someone's orientation or give them a continuity they don't care about lol.

Aww that's great! Journalling really is so powerful - even when I can't manage to write anything else in a day, I try to set aside a bit of time to just free write about what's on my mind and it really does help. 🥰

How would Rung, Drift, Rodimus, and Swerve help a fellow bot deal with loss and loneliness during their time on the Lost Light?

((It's not really made clear in this if Reader lost someone due to death, a bad breakup, or something else, so take it however works best for you!))

Everyone aboard the Lost Light was running away from something. For you, it was the only person keeping you on Cybertron slipping away, leaving a crater in your spark that made a ship full of crazy seem pretty good, actually - it was, at least, better than being alone.

You have the good sense to actually talk to Rung about this, and he's very encouraging. Maybe running wasn't the best way to deal with the grief but, well... What's done is done, the ship ain't about to turn back to make you face your emotional problems. On the bright side, meeting new people would still be the best solution back home, and there's plenty of people to meet here! He encourages you to give yourself the time and space to grieve, but not to lock yourself away either.

Drift, bless his spark, seems to think the solution to all of your problems would be converting to Spectralism - a new paint job in colors representing renewal and honor is a great way to deal with loss lingering in the spirit, he says. You're not so sure about that, but you let him give you a makeover anyway, and just getting to share stories of your lost loved one while he works does help. Not to mention a little self-care at a time like this goes a long way.

Rodimus is basically the opposite of Drift. Instead of helping you talk your feelings out, he's there to distract you from them as much as you need, whenever you need it. Want to watch this really confusing Earth movie Whirl insists is the best thing fleshies ever made? Want to see how long it takes the two of you to drive Ultra Magnus (and later, Megatron) insane? Want to go on an incredibly stupid adventure? Done and done - he gives you a much needed break from working through all of it every waking cycle.

You'd expect Swerve to be a lot like Rodimus in this respect, but it turns out he's actually quite the listener, and even cuts in with some shockingly thoughtful advice from time to time as you sip your drink, on the house. "Honestly, you couldn't be in a better place to feel lost and alone," he says. "From what I've heard over this bar, the Lost Light could have its own theme song about that... Sometimes, I think I have more therapy clients than Rung." You wonder if he realizes how little he's joking.

Hi I was wondering if you could do tfa bee who’s dating Optimus’s daughter (reader) and Optimus is REALLY trying to be ok with it, (can it be dating hc’s maybe throw in some father/daughter angst)

Dating Bumblebee (while being Optimus' daughter) would include…

- Oh Primus, that one? Really, daughter? Are you absolutely SURE you like THAT ONE?

- Don't get him wrong; Optimus knows Bee is a good kid deep down. Kind, brave, loyal. Optimus knows Bumblebee would never hurt his daughter... intentionally, but he is also a class-A idiot who shares the half a processor he has with a literal child.

- He will sit you down and make sure you are aware of this. When he realizes you are prefectly aware (in fact, you might be a little morosexual) he sighs and decides... okay... so he has to do the right thing and be the supportive dad now, even if he will never understand your taste in bots for the life of him.

- Bee can tell when you've had a bad day without even seeing you, because Optimus will give him this look until he confirms he had nothing to do with whatever upset you. 

- "Hey, Boss Bot is giving me that look - you okay?" 

- And despite his joking, he actually is concerned. Optimus wouldn't be able to sit by the watch this unfold if it wasn't obvious how much Bee was legitimately infatuated with you. When he gets back to base after a date he sighs and sinks further into the metal slab of a cough that an equally metal robot should be physically able to do.

- The more things don't go wrong, and Bumblebee proves himself to actually have the maturity for a relationship when he puts the effort in, the more Optimus relaxes about the whole thing. He's glad you're happy and, honestly, he's glad his teammate is happy too.

- Also, Bee will absolutely tell you when Optimus messes something up, so congrats on all of the new parental blackmail material!

Imagine femme bot reader being a hugger/cuddler. Femme reader is also lovable, short, and childish, so they get a lot of admirers.

No continuity or characters were given here but my brain just immediately went "Earthspark" and imagined Femme!Reader is also just a really loving and supportive teacher to the Terrans. LOTS of hugs and pats on the back when the kiddos do a good job. Not to mention every single Cybertronian in this continuity needs a hug I stg

Content Warning: Mentions of PTSD in this one. TBF that's probably a warning for a LOT of my stuff - there's robots be traumatized.

The Earthspark!Autobots recruiting a Femme!Autobot who is a smol, energetic cuddler would include...

Optimus has always been pretty casual about giving his cohorts pats on the back/side hugs/etc, but they don't so often respond to him as enthusiastically as you. They see him as this larger than life thing,  so it makes him really happy that you're so relaxed around him. Between that and how you make sure the Terrans receive physical reassurance, and the two of you become fast friends.

Elita-1 doesn't really initiate hugs, being more of a words person, but once she adjusts to how physical you are she will crush you with affection in return. She immediately gets the sort of bot you are and recognizes your warmth as strength. She will call anybody out who assumes your childish nature makes you naive. Speaking of which....

Megatron has zero idea how to deal with it when you straight up hug him in front of everybody for the first time, and it shows on his shocked face in a way he may never live down. During the war, he never let anybody that close, and while he's mellowed out a great deal now, most bots would be afraid or at least cautious to try being so affectionate with him. He's likely the most prone to assuming your demeanor means you're innocent, even if you've actually suffered from the war as much as anybody else.

Wheeljack ends up asking you for advice on being more open and warm with Twitch - it's not something that comes naturally to him, and he can tell physical reassurance does her a lot of good. You help him out and in return he often has a new gadget for you as a thank you present... to mixed results.

Bumblebee is the most hesitant around you at first - the last thing they need is another child running about, for Primus' sake. Autobots need to be mature and professional. But eventually, he realizes nothing about your sunny disposition keeps you from doing the job at hand just as well as the rest of the team, and from there it doesn't take him long to get attached. 

Arcee is the most like you in disposition AND size, so you two immediately click. She's not as much of a hugger as you, but will respond enthusiastically to a hug by straight up LIFTING you off the ground and swinging you about. The terrans LOVE when you two are teaching, because you're the most encouraging and least intimidating duo of any of the Autobots.

Please, for the love of Primus, give Grimlock a hug. He's not going to openly ask for one, but he needs one badly. He never acts too excited when you hug him but also never backs away or tells you to stop... and you notice the more you comfort him, the more likely he is to come to you when he's had a rough flashback or is otherwise just feeling out of sorts, and not so subtly sit or bend over in a way that makes it easy for you to reach up and hug him.

Could I request TFP Bumblebee finding his wrecker s/o hiding out in a town while on a mission? Maybe his reaction to finding out she’s alive and well but in hiding 😅

TFP!Bumblebee finding out his S/O is on Earth, in hiding, would include…

- To say he's shocked when Team Prime stumbles upon you would be an understatement. Aside from the obvious surprise of you being here at all, how did you get here? And who sent you on an undercover mission to Earth, of all places? Something so important that even Team Prime couldn't know about it before now?

- Granted, none of these questions stop him from IMMEDIATELY hugging you, all but jumping into your arms and nuzzling up to you. For a long moment you two just... stay like this, enjoying each other's company, enjoying how you still fit together so well.

- One quick explanation later...

- He knows that your mission is important, but it's impossible for him to hide the way his doorwings droop and there's a slight edge to his synthesized beeps and boops (most bots wouldn't notice, you do.) He thought you were offline for the longest time. The trip back to base together is awkward and too quiet.

- One more detailed explanation later...

- You all head back to base and Bee finds out that, of course, Optimus knew about this, as he always knows about everything. This instantly changes Bee's demeanor about the whole situation, and suddenly it's easy for him to brush off. This is your first time really meeting Optimus, but you already have a good first impression from that - your botfriend, the best judge of character you know, obviously trusts the Autobot leader with his life. That's more than good enough for you.

- Of course, you love Bee and you already like his team, so you stay on Earth with Team Prime! 

- Speaking of secrets... a long lost significant other you never mentioned, Bee? He's going to be getting teased about this for a while, especially by Miko, who has about 5000 questions for you about Cybertronian romance the first time you two meet.

Being Megatron's EVEN TALLER sparkmate would include...

- To say you intimidate people when they first meet you would be an understatement - after all, not only are you usually looking down at them, but your significant other is one of the most infamous (former) warlords to ever walk the face of Cybertron. Surely, you must also be tough as nails, right?

- You're actually a pretty nice, chill person once someone gets to know you - Megatron admires that about you. You don't let people's quick judgements stop you from being kind, something he is working on within himself. Your personable demeanor balances him.

- This inevitably means you end up being more liked than Megatron aboard the Lost Light... but the first time someone makes a comment about how such a jerk could have such a nice sparkmate, everyone present sees that you are just as capable as Megatron of putting your foot down and speaking your mind, regardless of what others think. If some bot isn't willing to let Megatron have his second chance, you two are not going to get along, period.

- But what ends up surprising people more than how soft YOU are is how soft Megatron can be around you. Primus, it's almost creepy how much his gaze softens when he looks at you. Who is this bot and what did you do to Megs?

- And that's just the public sappiness - half of the Lost Light would probably short circuit if they knew just how often you found love poems you found left on a datapad in your habsuite. 

- (Magnus apparently knows about this, because someone had to beta read the things, but of course he never lets it slip.)

- Megatron writes about you like the softest, most delicate thing.... even though you might be able to judo throw him over your shoulder at all. A few of the poems hint that probably into into that actually.

((Sorry you went through that. I had a bad friend breakup a couple of years ago myself - it was part of why I was so depressed for a while there. I know it's been a while since you sent this but I hope this soothes you in some way.))

You end up telling her all about it on the platform atop the base, Ciffjumper's grave a silent second listener. It's difficult, at first, for Arcee not to jump in and try to suggest some way you and your ex-friend might be able to fix things. (After all, she's never lost a friend in that way - both of her lost friends were wonderful people that were ripped apart from her against either of their wills.) But as she listens, as she learns exactly how much you suffered, how much you tried, how toxic it all was...

"I'm sorry," she says when you are finished telling the story. "You deserved better than that." She glances over at Cliff for a split second, then looks back at you. "It's not easy to let someone that close. I don't know how I would have handled if someone I trusted treated me like that." Her voice tenses, angry on your behalf. There's quiet for a moment, and then she chooses her next words carefully. "...I promise I will never do anything like that to you."

She looks over and she's not sure if she said the best thing or the worst thing, because you're finally crying after keeping it together all day. And so she stays with you, simply letting you cry and latch onto her and cry some more, as long as you need.

How about someone who was recently turned into a Cybertronian and Team Prime tended to and comforted them? They have a lot of adjusting to do! 👀

Team Prime comforting Reader, who just got turned into a Cybertronian, would include...

Optimus reassures you from the first moment that you have a safe home with Team Prime, should you choose to stay with them. Of course, you do. He makes sure you have the time and space to adjust and be comfortable with your new body before jumping into anything. He's just there if you need him, which some days is more helpful than everyone's else's efforts to offer unsolicited advice right off the bat.

Bumblebee helps you adjust to having wheels by challenging you to races that double as training whenever possible. He is almost certainly going easy on you, but nobody ever tells you as much.

Bulkhead is the first to realize that maybe you just really need a damn hug right now, if only because he's not very good with words. He hugs you and reassured you that it will be okay, and you're amazed how warm and fuzzy you feel afterwards, even though you're fairly sure your new body doesn't actually feel such minute temperature changes.

Ratchet tries to be "comforting" by explaining how your new body works... in detail that goes way, WAY over your head. But eventually, you get him talking about Cybertron's history and culture, and realize that your two species aren't all that different after all, which helps more than an anatomy lesson ever could.

Smokescreen is quick to remind you that you don't have to go back to your boring human school/job/house/whatever. Depending on how much you liked/disliked your old life, this is either incredibly helpful or incredibly irritating. If you get upset with him though, he's quick to apologize, and it's hard not to be comforted by that well-meaning smile and a servo patting your shoulder.

Arcee might somehow be even more protective of you than she is of the humans - she knows what happens when bots overestimate how much they can handle, and she figures that's really easy to do when you go from being a tiny, fragile human to a giant robot. Sometimes it's hard to hear her remind you that you're still mortal, but she means well. "Okay Mom, I get it."

Wheeljack, like Bulkhead, isn't very good with words, but he's also not very good with affection. What he can do, however, is listen. He's there the first time you get frustrated with the rest of the Team - not because they truly did anything wrong, but because being cramped into a tiny base with people you've just met will irritate anyone - and he never breathes a word of what you vented to the others. The Wreckers had their spats too - he knows you'll all be cool at the end of the day.

Oh Primus help Ultra Magnus he doesn't have a comforting servo in his body, but at least he's honest about that. In fact, he's the best bot to go to when you're ready to have things less sugarcoated.

Knock Out doesn't understand what the fuss is about - why would anyone ever want to be a squishy, gross organic when they could be Cybertronian? Humans couldn't turn into cars, for one, and couldn't be polished. He gives you a fresh coat of paint and polish and tells you how much better you look now - it does help, in a way. Being able to pick out new paint makes you feel a little more like your new body is really your body.

But honestly? Your biggest comfort might just be Jack, Miko, and Raf, if only because they will remind you any time you so much as frown just how cool being a giant robot is. And then you remember, yeah, it is pretty cool, actually.

Having a VERY OBVIOUS crush on TFA Starscream would include...

- I have bad news, anon: you may be the most obvious motherfragger in Cybertronian history, but it turns out Starscream is the most DENSE.

- Seriously, he's way too busy being off in his own little scheming world to notice how much you stare at him, or the way you stammer when you try to speak to him, or the myriad of hints from Blitzwing that range from teasing to all but straight up telling him.

- Seriously, everyone knows except him, Primus help you. 

- You admire him? Of course you do! Frankly, more bots should.

- "I don't understand for the life of me why she likes you." "Because I'm a strategic genius, maybe?" Starscream preens and Blackarachnia decides it'll be much more fun to watch this disaster unfold than clarify anything to him.

- When you finally, finally, FINALLY manage to somehow get across that you mean you like him romantically, though, his attitude pulls a complete 180 and he becomes even more flustered than you've been. He doesn't know how to handle that sort of targeted affection, much less respond to it.

- He eventually gets past that moment of vulnerability and "allows" you to date him... but every time you complement him he's caught just as off guard as the first time, and it quickly becomes obvious he feels more for you than just appreciating the ego boost your company brings.

- And now you can both be flustered, lovestruck idiots (positive) together - congratulations!
