The third prophecy (given in the Intermission called “Five Months” in Freedom and Not Peace)

Three on three the old one coils, Three in its times, three in its choices, It bears his rivals to silence and stillness, And the wild Darkness laughs, and the Light rejoices. · Two on two the storms that are coming, Two for the day, and two for the year, The storm of darkness when no moon will shine, And the storm of light that will blaze most fiercely here. · One on one all the prophecies bear down, One is their centre, and one is their heart, And from my mouth comes no Divination again Except those prophecies in which he has a part.

There are also some interpretations that are worth to point out:

Professor Trelawney and Dumbledore agree that “the old one” (an allegory for snakes) refers to Voldemort, the storms refer to two great battles he will conduct. All prophecies Trelawney makes from now on will involve Voldemort.

Others believe that the “old one” refers to the first prophecy. It will come true three times, with a different pair to be “elder” and “younger” each time. Besides, Trelawney will only speak those in which Harry is involved.

I would like to point out some things that can be interesting.

“The storm of darkness when no moon will shine, And the storm of light that will blaze most fiercely here.”

The first storm will happen in new moon (a night without moonlight), and it will be orchestrated by the Darkness; the second is going to happen in Hogwarts (the place where Trelawney is telling the prophecy), with the Light and Voldemort fighting against each other.

“One on one all the prophecies bear down, One is their centre, and one is their heart, And from my mouth comes no Divination again Except those prophecies in which he has a part.”

If the prophecies run out, that probably means that either one or both of the “centre” and “heart” will perish.

However, that's just my opinion.

The second prophecy (given in Chapter 39 of Comes Out of Darkness Morn)

“Five weeks before the time of longest light There comes one who puts lesser foes to flight, Who has a soul and magic cold as ice. Now comes the hour Of the black one's power, And he shall die by the wand of the sacrifice. · Now comes the hour all truth is revealed, Now comes the hour the gray one takes the field, And first decision sets the path for all. Now kindness is tested, Now soft heart must be bested, And on that test he will stand or fall.”

There are also some interpretations that are worth to point out:

Connor believed that the “black one” was Sirius Black, who would die by Harry's wand (the “sacrifice”). In other words, Harry would kill Sirius five weeks before Midsummer; the second part of the prophecy is not as important to him.

Others believe that only the timeline was correct. Voldemort and Sirius are “black one”, both sharing a body. Sirius kill himself using Peter Pettigrew's wand, who was a sacrifice too; the other half of the prophecy is related to the Dementors.

I would like to point out some things that can be interesting.

“Now comes the hour all truth is revealed”

In this book, the most intrigant thing is the true about the night of October 31st, 1981.

“Now comes the hour the gray one takes the field, And first decision sets the path for all. Now kindness is tested, Now soft heart must be bested, And on that test he will stand or fall.”

We see a new path in Harry's life, a path of freedom and magic: the path of a Vates, a liberator. And is that night in which the path will rise or fall.

However, that's just my opinion.

So, I've seen a lot of people asking for some kind of summary about the Sacrifices Arc by Lightning on the Wave (LotW).

And well, since I am currently doing a project that makes me read the fanfic again, I am going to do my best and share a synopsis for each book (however it will take some time to finish all of them).

Saving Connor by LotW

In the first chapter the author presents us a little bit of Harry Potter's life, as well as his brother, Connor Potter (the-boy-who-lived), his parents and Sirius Black.

The two twins are about to star their first-school-year; Connor will be in the spotlight, for he is The-Boy-Who-Lived. And Harry, though he is every different from his brother, will do whatever it takes to stay by his side.

However, Harry's perfect plan breaks apart after he is put not only in a different House, but in the rival of his brother's. Slytherin; on the other hand, Draco Malfoy is looking forward to be the best friend of Harry.

Harry is giving detention by Severus Snape, after he provoked an explosion during Potions. Snape becames aware how incredibly powerful is Harry Potter.

Harry finally gets to talk to his brother about him being in Slytherin, and Connor is sure that his brother can not be evil.

Draco test Harry during Flying Lessons. Harry hardly refuses to play for the Slytherin Quidditch team; Draco and Snape have a chat about Harry.

Harry follows Professor Quirell under the suspicion of him being a treat to Connor. Draco invites himself to the follow.

During Halloween, Harry saves Hermione, Ron and Connor from a troll. However he claims that Connor is the one who saved them all; Draco, who was with Harry all the time tells the truth to Professor Snape.

Connor and Harry start to play for their own Quidditch teams.

Harry, once again, follows Quirell and witness some shocking things.

During the Gryffindor-Slytherin game Death Eaters enters inside the Quidditch pitch. Harry Potter managed to save his brother, defeat the enemy and grab the Snicht; little did he know Severus Snape was watching him.

Connor confronts Harry about what happened during the Quidditch game.

Snape tells Harry about the Philosopher's Stone. Harry makes a plan to help his brother.

Draco gets kidnapped and Harry rescued him. And, as part of a Life's Debt, Harry has to spend Christmas with the Malfoy's; turns out, Harry enjoys the dancing.

Connor and Harry have a chat about the Philosopher's Stone; Snape has decided to instruct Harry.

Connor and Harry have an argument. Hermione demands answers about the Stone.

Harry goes to the Forbidden Forest with the intention to talk and protect Connor. But in the midel of the way, the two brothers face professor Quirell and –at the back of his head– Lord Voldemort; the battle is between Harry, how protects Connor, and the Dark Lord, how wants to destroy. When everything seems lost, Voldemort and Quirell die while trying to touch Connor.

Harry is pretty exhausted but descrbis the fight to Severus Snape.

In the last day of school, Gryffindor wins the House Cup because Dumbledore gives points because of the bravery of Hermione and Ron. And Voldemort's defeat by Connor alone.

Snape is convinced that make Harry who he truly was was going to be a challenge.

First Prophecy (Saving Connor, chapter 11)

"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches…

Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies…

He is the younger of two, and he shall have the power the Dark Lord knows not…

For the elder is power, but the younger is power united with love…

O guard him, O shield him, for the darkness through which he passes otherwise is vicious and hideous, and love has but a scant chance of surviving…

The elder will stand at his right shoulder, loving him, but the younger will love the whole of the wizarding world…

The Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, and in so doing mark his heart…

The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches, born as the seventh month dies…"

There are also some interpretations that are worth to point out:

Dumbledore firmly believes that Connor and Harry are the two siblings that the prophecy talks about. Both born at the end of July and from parents that fought during the First War. Harry, being the older one, the powerful, has to love and protect Connor. Connor, as the younger, has to be protect and love unconditionally for the love inside of him can blossom and be able to defeat the enemy, because (as Dumbledore claims) love is the power that Voldemort doesn't know.

Others refute this because the prophecy does not say that they have to be brothers, or that both of them are born on the same month. And that the prophecy does not say that love is the power that the Dark Lord knows not.

I would like to point out some things that can be interesting.

"Born to those who have thrice defied him..."

This part does not mean that the younger's parents had once fought the Dark Lord. It can also be some kind of opposition or challenge; however, yes, it is more likely that it refers to a battle.

"He is the younger of two..."

That the prophecy does not say whether the "older" and the "younger" are siblings or not. Or even if they were born in the same month.

"and love has but a scant chance of surviving…"

"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord..."

The power that the Dark Lord doesn't knows can not be love –at least in my point of view: because in one of the sentences it says that the youngest is love combined with power, and even if it takes both to destroy the Dark Lord –because power with out love would make them the same as the Dark Lord, and love alone can not face the enemy–, it talk about those two –power and love– as separate things, not synonymous.

However, that's just my opinion.

This contains spoilers, so if you have not read the last book I suggest you do not read what is next.

As you have said already, it is rated M because of the gore, the smut, the cliffhanger and other things. However the author always makes a advertisement at the start of every chapter, even if it contains the minimum amount.

Yes, it is very hard to read because of that. But it is worth your time, and there are a lot of things that –with the appropriate interpretation– are going to become a part of you.

If you can always pause or stop reading, why no give it a try?

Hey! I was wondering why the Sacrifices Arc is rated M? I don't want to read anything with extreme/graphic violence or anything smut-related. Would you mind telling me if it contains any of that stuff as I'd like to know before I start reading it! Thanks!

I’m afraid the series includes both those things.  The violence starts earlier than the smut, if I remember rightly.  (Draco/Harry don’t become sexually active until they’re sixteen, but there may be other characters who have sex in the earlier books.)  I can’t remember when the violence gets really graphic, but by the end I admit it is stomach churning.

For me the other parts of the book - the characters, the plot, the writing itself - meant I could deal with the violence, but that’s me.  You might be able to enjoy the first few without too much difficulty?  My memory is a bit faded.

Do any of the followers have advice?
