Currently trying to figure out how the writers in all their infinite wisdom are going to try to make the Ormund-Daeron-Daemon scene work. There's a newer video with a closer look of what is happening in that scene by Splash News (source), and yeah the people that theorized that it was there was going to be a scene of surrender and Daeron would be given to Daemon are seemingly correct.
I know that there's obviously going to be a scene before this and one after that will explain what's going on, but do we really need to be doing this? What's the end goal it?

Have you noticed?
I rewatched the footage and it's kind of difficult for me to fully tell since A) the footage was shot from a distance and B) we don't know the full context of this scene yet.
So while yes, it is possible that his hands are tied it could also be just as possible that he's just walking like that. People do walk with their hands behind their back from time to time, either because they just like to or because it can convey confidence.
Either scenario is likely because all we have is some footage recorded at a distance. Without closer footage or clear audio all we can do right now is speculate

New set photos from the Ormund Hightower Camp!
No Daeron this time, but we do see Ormund and soldiers from House Hightower, House Peake, and what appears to be House Florent soldiers as well.

Here's a closer look at Ormund, although it appears that James isn't in full costume

Daeron being played by such a young actor is actually quite an interesting idea when you think about it. He's being sent off to war at such a young age, and even though 16 is considered the age of majority (age where a person is legally recognized as an adult) in Westeros, he's still a kid by the standards of the audience. He was a child that should've never been put into the situation he's in.
Having him be played by a younger actor will play into that and I'm interested to see what Charlie can do with his performance

DAERONBROS

Translation:
Actor Charlie Gordon has been cast as Prince Daeron the Daring Targaryen in Season 3 of House of the Dragon, according to our sources. 🚨
Daeron is the rider of Tessarion, the Blue Queen, and the youngest son of King Viserys I and Queen Alicent Hightower. 🐉🔥

Condal & hess are team rheanicent but even in rheanicent alicent is always the misguided jealous party and rhaenyra is the more righteous victim party. Alicent has to sacrifice everything for rhaenicent to happen. But you are right people need to wait before there is confirmation on daeron. Though i dont have hopes from ryan condal.
And I agree with you on that front.
The season 2 finale showed that in order for Alicent to be seen as good/worthy, she would have to give up her sons in order to do that. This is obviously a major departure from the books, as she’s loyal to their cause to the bitter end.
My only hope for Rhaenyra is that they turn her righteousness into a legitimate character flaw and her ultimate downfall come seasons 3 and 4. I think we might’ve seen an inkling with this in 2x07 with the Dragonseeds, but who knows if that will end up actually being the case.

lol red haired daeron will be TB dream come true so its very much possible. on the other hand, ryan C will out himself as a blackcell even more. daeron was explicitly stated to have the colouring of the dragon as opposed to jace but to make the greens hypocritical ryan and sara can give him red hair or even make him a bastard. the complication though is the whole debate over how a hightower and cole??can ride a dragon crumbling the only-targ-ride-dragon idea.
I’ve seen at least a few team greens/Alicent stans (at least on Twitter) who want to him to have reddish hair/look more like Alicent. Pretty sure it’s one of the main reasons why there’s a section of Daeron stans who want him to be played by Harry Gilby.
While yes, he has the signature Targaryen hair in the book, they’ve proven that they’ll go ahead and disregard that part of a character’s physical description. They did that with Rhaenys (who had black hair).
Personally I’m waiting till we actually know what he looks like before I get all doom and gloom about this whole situation. My main concern right now is if the actor can actually act.
As an aside, let’s just be real here, Condal & Hess are more Team Rhaenicent than TB or TG. They focused the marketing heavily on them and did whatever they could to justify the two of them meeting in season 2.
