okay here's some thoughts?

you know how Terry seems really pissed off after his first encounter with Daniel, in which he "sincerely" apologised and said he would undo it if he could

only to turn right around the second time they talk (out of two times only!!! this season) and tell Daniel that he liked it

Terry - the long game Terry Silver - has had a plan from the second he decided he would return to Kreese. Just because he thought he and Kreese were on the same page, and more, that Kreese had sincerely come back for him, only to be disappointed in that, doesn't change the fact that he was laying out pieces early on:

1. Expanding Cobra Kai

2. Waiting until the right moment to face Daniel (and get a look at Pretty Boy Johnny)

3. Putting out feelers on who to pay extra attention to - Robby, Tory, Kenny (and it's going to be Kenny, now that Robby is out of the picture and Tory - I think - can see through his con)

4. ... Daniel goes on the backburner - Daniel isn't going anywhere, hell, one look at him and he freaked. He's got a couple of things to take care of first (testing Kreese by targeting Johnny), but there's no rush...

I would love to know if he was genuinely angry at the car, and if so, how come. He wasn't feeling jilted by Daniel not trusting him, it wasn't a real gesture (as Daniel rightly called)

Was he pretending in front of Kreese? Did he feel a certain amount of genuine anger that he couldn't easily worm his way back in? Or is he just remembering how he didn't actually get what he wanted last time?

Whatever it is, by the time they talk in the store, Silver is confident, hell, he's not even hiding at all - he could have continued the schtick easily - I'm a changed man, I wish I could undo it, it hurts me that you can't forgive and move on - but he didn't even bother, not even to taunt Daniel

You liked it... I wonder if that won't be his angle in the next season...

And considering how Daniel described it to others (and I feel like it's safe to assume he described it the same way to Johnny as he did to the others? I do wish we'd had that scene darnit!) perhaps there is that part of him that is scared that he did like it, that he wanted it (that he deserved it)

the two things that keep Daniel from being able to let Johnny in and cause his constant kneejerk reactions are the fear that he could let Miyagi down (again, as he sees it), and the fear that he might let others get hurt by people like Terry Silver

I think Terry Silver knew. No need to hurry these things. Just wind him up for now and get out of the way. Daniel knows he's coming for him...
