Leopard Seal bringing a National Geographic penguins to feed him.
“But instead of harming him, the seal began to “nurture” him. It began to bring him penguins, first alive, then dead, perhaps assuming that he was a ‘useless predator in her ocean.’”

This beluga whale looks like it swallowed a mermaid. It’s no wonder sailors thought mermaids existed.

My biggest fear of the ocean is how massive it is. It's our world upscaled, and this comic captures the vastness of the ocean.
As well as the massive creatures within it.
Seriously, the perfect comic to tickle your thalassophobia.
Ascent #20 - Cave
I’ve always wanted to go spelunking (cave exploring). I am living vicariously through the diver.
In the past couple weeks I reached 8000+ followers on Tapastic! Wuuuuut! You guys continue to amaze me, and with your continued support I’ll continue to make more comics. Thank you!! :D

Ascent #026 - Brighter
And so our intrepid seafarers continue on their journey to the ever-elusive destination of the surface.
“Wait, ‘End of Season One’!? What does that mean for Ascent?!”
Great question! This just means I’ll be taking a little break from working on generating new episodes for the time being. However, I love this story and I love you wonderful readers, so I’ll still be making content for Ascent. This will *possibly* come in the form of new merch (prints, apparel, stickers, pins), a possible zine, and development work for season 2 (haven’t naild down a premiere date for season 2). None of that is 100% guaranteed, but I can promise that you will continue to hear from me in some form of another.
If you want to stay updated on when new Ascent content will be released, you can sign up for the newsletter, become a patron, or follow me on social media!

Lastly I want to thank you amazing readers so, so much. Ascent is my first webcomic and has been a bit of a learning process, but everyone’s constant encouragement and zeal for the series has given me motivation to keep moving forward. I wouldn’t be as satisfied with where the comic ended up if it weren’t for you, so from the bottom of the sea, thank you so much for reading.
See you soon! - Kevin

Ascent #002 - Relationship building
This is the best and worst story I’ve ever told. Please Like and Reblog :)
I’m still figuring out my schedule for how often I post these, and right now I’m looking at every 3 weeks.

This is sweet!

“There are over 3,000 known species of nudibranchs, and scientists estimate that only half have been discovered so far. The creatures soft-body and short life span of 1 year make it possible for many of them to live undetected and vanish from the earth without a trace.”
