Kyoshi comics update

I might be going insane

BUT the good news is that im not going crazy because of the comic, just.... every other thing in my life rn

SOooooo instead of "im losing my mind so i cant do the comic" its actually "the comic is one of the only things i can do and still keep my sanity, in fact its one of the only things making me NOT lose my mind"

So... good news... i guess...

right??

(still at the line art, but surprise yall will get +50 pages hopefully before june)

Kyoshi's novels fan-comic update

(Its going great but i have no idea when i will be done with this second one, probably not very soon)

Good news: the one im doing(2°) its gonna have more then 30 (maybe 40) pages. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

Bad news: it took me 2 months to finish the 18 pages one

Good news: i think/hope i wont take as long to this one to be ready (still i have no prospect on date rn)

Bad news: im delusional

Good news: some things i thoght wound take me much longer (drawing the mansion) are going faster then i imagine, (bless you symmetry tool)

Bad news: my tablet is color blind (YEAH IDK ETHER), what means color desing/composition its being a bit more hard then it should be, but im figuring out, so if the color looks a bit weird/change mid comic its probably bc of that

Good knews: im having a really good time doing this, even in the boring parts (or when its consulming a bit of my soul and sanity) its also being good for my art studies (not quite profissional looking yet but we'll get there), so no plans on given up

Kyoshi novels comic update:

Me: i feel the last/first comic ended up feeling short and oversmashed (idk if thats a word?? whatever) so i researched a little and i think i know how to get better

Me now: oh this its going great, already 20 draft pages with some linearts

Me:... wait is this just HALF OF IT!??

Me:... no problem, right?? Thats what you wanted!!

Me: *remember how long it took to finish the short oversmashed one*

Me:... you know what?? im not that upset... i mean at least i got to draw the actual characters instead of some faceless dudes and Jianzhu, yeah no thats nice

Me: ok, whats next?? Oh!! Boy of Makapu! finally some Yun and........ (looks at the amout of Jianzhu i'll have to draw) *screams*

Absolutely certainty Rangi gets angry for not being angry

She will be a little mad at Kyoshi for something stupid

Then she looks at Kyoshi, just there being the adorable cinnamon roll that she is, and feel her anger start to fade

Then when she notice that, she immediate gets two times more furious because of it

People talking about pre-trauma and Post-Trauma kyoshi is so funny cause girll there was no timeline in her life where she wasn't traumatized 😭( only the first five years of her life maybe??) There is only traumatized kyoshi vs hardcore traumatized kyoshi

trying to do a semi-realism Kyoshi:

Yesterday was planed to work on the comic+ other projects (job) but i saw that Kyoshist video on tik tok and felt kbligeted to try to draw my argument

[id. a comic of the scene from the yangchen novels where yangchen throws kavik in the ocean. kavik floats in the water yelling "pik forgave me!" to look up at yangchen smiling from where she's on her bison. she says, "pik did not" and pushes kavik further into the ocean with her staff. end id]

maybe one day ill actually clean/color this but take the scanned doodles i put together for now

Headcannon that once Lek and Kyoshi got more used to calling each other family they started to sometimes tell/insinuate (like at mettings or events) that they are actually blood related just to fuck with people

not sure who would first start with that

either Kyoshi would stumble in her words trying to present Lek and then they just role with it without explaining anything and ended up finding funny the various confuse/akward reactions

Or Lek first starded with it because he hates high class events as much as Kyoshi (for different reasons) and that's a "allowed" way to at least get a crack out of it

This or Lek just wanted to piss of Kyoshi but how both ended up having fun they just keep doing it as a joke

realise i have never draw Yangchen before and i just needed to fix this mistake of mine

The spirits don't tell them zip.

One of their kids just starts sprouting stuff about spirits and murder and they collectively go 'Oh, it's that one'.

Rise of Kyoshi fan-comic n°01- "The beginning, or almost that"

(For those who dont know i'm doing the entirely of the Kyoshi novels in comic format, that's the first one)(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ

ITS DONE!! *high-five myself* *cries*

About the next ones:

It will be the "nine years later" + "the boy from makapu"

I did started already but because its still at the beginning and i have to come up with all the designs for basically everything it will take some time (╥﹏╥) time i expect to be shortened at least at bit once i get through these firt comics and have all the designs settle

(Im using the game/cannon looks as reference but also taking some liberty upon them, once i age up the characters they will prob look more like the cannon but still not 100% identical)

That means the characters aperance may suffer some little changes along the way (Jianzhu will definitely not stay like that) i'll try not alter nothing major thoutgh)

Ether way, by my measure it will take around 1/2 months for each comic (ಥ‿ಥ) they will be around the same length that this one (hopefully a little longer) between 20-30ish pages featuring more or less 2 chapters per comic

(I'm open to any opinions and tips <33)

RoK comic update:

[I know this is a long not promessing rant but i swear i'll post it this weekend or so]

Sorry guy i've been hit by a bus (metaphorically)

The line art, dialogs/narration, basic coloring + most shadows/details ate done, just have to finish some more details and fix one or two things

It SHOULD be faster but i was STUPID

the file on ibis paint its current 180 fucking hours long

And my poor ancient drawing machine CANNOT handle it

So the page just crash under its own pressure

Like A LOT

So i have to keep restoring it to continue working on it but it takes AGES

Like it just crashed AGAIN (i swear its like the fifth time) so i will only be able to work on it again tomorrow (╥_╥)

(already figure out how to avoid this problem in the future so its fine, hopefully)

But outside of that

Its almost done

Upon the quality... i cant say it, i mean literally, i dont know if its good or not, i was hating it a LOT (the pre mentioned metathorical bus had influenced on that) now im liking it a bit more but... i dont know

I might change some desing choices in future, nothing too drastic tho i'll try to keep the art style consistent as possible

also this all proved to me that this project will takes a lot of time (who could've say??) So the next ones will probably take equally or even longer to finish sorry ┐(‘～`；)┌

(1-2 months for a 20 pages comic its not that bad right??)

This one (if everything goes right (please) will be posted this weekend) its "the beginning, or almost that" - that its a "non cannon" preamble + the chapter "the test" with 18 pages + cover if im not mistaking

the next one its the chapters "nine years later" + "the boy from Makapu" (maybe one or two extra things it will depend on how long its gonna get

After that im still in planning estage but the norm will probably continue to be more or less 2 chapters per comic with some extra/reorganized content

I have a "headcannon" about that!!

Ok so lets ignore Rava for a sec

I like to think there is no (known) "beginning" or "end" it the avatar cicle

Like i think it would be so interesting if nobody really knew when or how it started, and the avatar was just this mysterious thing that always existed since writen/known history

So each nation teaches the cicle starting with their own element

For the fire nation the cicle starts in fire and ends in earth, for the water tribes the cicle starts in water and ends in air, and so on and so on

It would also fit for the opening ("Water - Earth - Fire - Air") of atla bc Katara (Water Tribe) its the one narrating it and Aang was the last known avatar

wait wait let me be neurodivergent for a second

so the avatar cycle goes “water, earth, fire, air”, right?

like each full cycle starts with water, ends with air

but does avatar wan count as a fire avatar since he learned fire first?

if that were the case, since he’s the first avatar, the cycle would actually begin with fire and end with earth, right?

i can's explain this but:

Kyoshi novels = older sibling energy

Yangchen novels = yonger sibling energy

(Now this could be because the protagonists are both in fact those, but idk it feels like the book as a whole just have this vibe)
