Ahh...the need to stay busy. It is a disease of the mind. It is a symptom of our society’s brainwash: be busy, be productive, if you’re not, you’re not contributing and you should feel guilty about it. The American Dream, the glamorized notion that if you’re busy, it means you’re doing something valuable and worthy, if you’re busy, you’re important and on the path to success. It might be true. But a better question is how much of these “busy" activities feed our soul, and support us as individual. If they are not, it’s better just to sit still, to stay silent, to tune inwards, so maybe we can find out who the hell that person is in there. Activity is not action. Action is when the situation demands it, you act. Action is when you feel something in your heart, it transforms you, it becomes action. Activity is when the situation doesn’t matter, it is not a response; it comes out of a restless mind.

To those who are afraid of their dark side. Be aware that everything in the universe exist in duality. It is the universal law. Yin and yang. Night and day. Fire and water. Expansion and contraction. They are not two energies but one energy having two polarities. They are just like the negative and positive in electricity—but it is all the same electricity. To reject either one is to reject the whole. To reject your dark side is to reject who you are.    Didn’t Nietzsche use to say: "You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star."  Some mystics have said that before the light happens, one has to pass through a dark night of the soul. Everyone has a dark night of the soul. But not everyone looks into themselves. You see it because you’re aware and conscious. And that is noble, that is courage. Know that you must have darkness of night to see the stars in the night. To pass through—to come out on the other side.
