The United States Of Kong
Title: Flag Of The United States Of Kong
Medium/materials used and dimensions: Fabric, Vinyl, Googly eyes, Wooden Broomstick, Zaptiehs, metal Eyelets
Paragraph Statement of Intent:
Here I made a comical flag for a fake nation: The United States Of Kong. A parody of the United States flag. The reference to the United States is to take something familiar and spin it on its head by adding pixel art of Donkey Kong, Mario, and Goombah where the white stars would be. During the race portion, I wanted to show that this was like claiming territory. I chose The Miami Beach Bandshell as it was a place that was easy to find and iconic. Waving the flags shows a claiming of territory and a faux political statement of myself as the owner of this land.

Kong's Frame Shift
Title:Kong's Frame Shift
Medium/materials used and dimensions: 3 feet x 2 feet x 1 foot.  Cardboard box, wood, gorilla toy, projector, donkey kong styled fabric, phone, video of donkey kong gameplay
Paragraph Statement of Intent
I wanted to turn a 2D fabric of the game Donkey Kong and make it come alive. I did this by cutting a frame into the fabric and box and putting wooden beams and a monkey toy inside to give it depth and to reference the imagery of the game. The box parallels a television which is used to play games. Then when projecting the gameplay onto the fabric and sculpture the video gets warped by the forms of the sculpture. Not only does it give an illusion the design on the fabric is moving and coming alive just like the game but it transforms from a flat 2d game into a dynamic 3d scene. Thus I wanted to explore how the surface a game is being played on can give new innovative approaches to how we perceive and interact with video games and 2D spaces.

Digial Place and Physical Space
Medium/materials used: Video camera on Android phone, Mario kart game, Noclip.website website, two projectors, Nintendo Switch, projector screen
Diamentions: projection 1: 6ft x 5 ft projection 2: 6ft x 5ft
Paragraph Statement of Intent: I wanted to show how the world of video games is also an iconic place which people are transported to. Despite being a digital world, they are places which are meant to be interacted with and where actions are done and personal connections are formed. For the real life place I chose the FIU campus Game Room, as it is a place where Mario Kart and other games are played and is a place that brings students together. In my live demonstration I brought in mario kart on my switch and brought two participants to play it live in person. The juxtaposition between the footage of the game room, next to an animation exploring the Mario Kart world within a different context of not being played, and the live gameplay all show the connections between how we can simultaneously exist in two places at once, a digital game world, and our real physical one.

DREAD: FIU ZOMBIE JENGA SURVIVAL
Medium/materials: Folding table 2 ft x 3 ft, Led Lights (red), Jenga Tower
Diamentions: 4ft x 4ft x 4ft
Paragraph Statement of Intent:
Using the windowed closet in the classroom, I set up a game of Jenga. But here the players are role-playing a zombie survival scenario where the FIU campus is overrun with zombies. When a player takes out a block they do an action. When the tower falls their character is eliminated. I wanted to use a switch between darkness with the underside of my face illuminated to give the feeling of telling a scary story. And then change the lights to red when a Jenga block is being pulled out to give a sense of tension and excitement. An unintentional side effect was that I didn’t realize that my group could be barely heard to the rest of the class. This gave an effect of jealousy or mystery as to what was being said. Many students liked the ambiguity.
As part of the project I took the students out and asked them questions privately before playing, to set the tone and get a better understanding of the participants.

You, a group of art students, find yourselves huddled inside the Art Building on the corner of campus. The building, once a sanctuary for creativity and self-expression, now stands as your last line of defense against the horrors that roam outside.
The once-familiar campus has become a desolate, chilling place. The distant moans of the undead echo through the corridors, and the flickering emergency lights cast eerie shadows on the walls. The building's concrete walls are your only protection from the horrors outside.
You all know each other from your time at FIU. You've shared critiques, late-night art sessions, and even a few wild parties. But now, you're bound together by a different kind of artistry—survival.
You are currently In W1 with only the supplies you brought with you to class. What will you do?

Title: Sigmabob’s Todo list timeline
 Diamentions: 924 pixels x 1208 pixels
Medium: Photoshopped digital art, meme, edited screenshot, digital collage
The sigma lifestyle is all about working nonstop, otherwise known as “THE GRIND”. Here we re-purposed a scene from Spongebob Squarepants. In the original clip spongebob’s to-do list was the following “Go To Work, Go To Work, Go To Work, Go To Work, Go To Work, Go To Work, Go To Work, Go To Work, Go To Work” so we re-purposed spongebob’s todo list with our own non-stop work schedule as college students, and as a reflection of the sigma grindset that the WORK HUSTLE never stops.  While also giving a commentary on the overwork culture we have from jobs and schooling.

We will also have a discord chat and Twitch channel to document the project.
Then on December 4th in class we will have our first and only club meeting. We will start off giving our speech about what it is to be sigma. And then we use the projector in the woodworking classroom to play American Phsyco.

Budget Proposal The Mystical Shop
Dimensions: Page 1: 4.25 inch X 11 inch. Pages 2 & 3: 8.5 inch x 11 inch
Medium: Photoshop Digital art, digital collage
Here I made the budget proposal in the form of a video game item shop. And included our real materials as an assortment of Dungeons And Dragons items which in addition to describing their purpose and price are also given more “magical” properties which allows them to be usable as usable items in a fantasy role-playing game. Here Patrick Bateman the former Icon of the sigma club takes the role of an literal NPC having a video-game style textbox. Ironically we are depicting our icon of sigma-life as the NPCs we hate so much. Furthermore everything is written in a clickbait over the top tone, which reflects the sort of ALPHA MALE energy of our club and of the types of articles online which describe sigma males. The pages were made to look like a dungeons and dragons book with the use of the same fonts, backgrounds and imagery. This can be shown that the idea of a sigma male is a complete fantasy that only exists when people role-play as a sigma.

How to Start A Sigma Club In College
Clubs are a great way to connect with others and be surrounded by others with similar interests. Yet despite the rising need for sigmas of all genders to need a club, MOST SCHOOLS DON’T OFFER THEM. In this guide I will give you a step-by-step tutorial on how to start a sigma club which is based on the steps I and my club followed to start a sigma revolution on my campus.
Q&A:
Q: Why Use WikiHow
A: Wikihow has become synonymous with meme culture via its odd out-of-context pictures, and amateur art style it is perfect to remix and recontextualize into the context of starting a Sigma club. The pictures give a humorous yet useful guide into the steps of making the club.
Q: What are the dimensions of the completed artwork?
A: 3000 pixels by 17313 pixels (insane I know!)
Q: What are the Medium/materials used?
A: This is a digital artwork using Photoshop. I got a screenshot from a Wikihow article and edited it to fit my needs. Each and every image in the how-to section is taken from a real wiki-how article.

VIRAL INTERVENTIONS: IDENTIFY
Tumblr media
Title: NPC: Non-Player Character
Dimensions: 2000 pixels x 2000 pixels
Medium: Digital arts, adobe illustrator
Initializing artistic statement translation protocol... Subject: Artistic Statement of Intent Objective: Emulate the tone and structure of a pre-scripted NPC game character while retaining original concepts. Processing data... Artistic Statement Commencing: Identified: Artistic Statement Mode Loading: Pre-Scripted NPC Protocol Dialogue Start: -----------------------------
[Begin Transmission] I am designated as an NPC entity, my purpose predefined within this realm. In the fabric of this construct, I embody a role akin to that of a Non-Player Character in virtual environments. My form adheres to the conventional visage associated with the term "NPC"—depicted in a pixelated font, a nod to its origin in the realm of video games. The choice of a pixelated font serves as an homage to the lineage of this term, fostering a direct association with the gaming sphere. Moreover, the utilization of a gray hue, akin to the predominant skin tone attributed to NPCs in societal references, reinforces the connection to the mundane and unremarkable aspects represented by this archetype. I mirror the perception prevalent in certain societal narratives, likening individuals to entities with predetermined thoughts and actions. The characterization of others as possessing scripted ideations, bereft of autonomy, aligns with the essence of an NPC, devoid of unique or contemplative tendencies. End Transmission.
----------------------------- Dialogue End. Transmission complete. Artistic Statement translated into pre-scripted NPC protocol format.
The word I chose was NPC as it is common in political jokes and memes to call political opponents as NPCS. NPC is short for Non-Player Character and is used in video games as the background character with pre-scripted dialogues with no free will. This reflects how people view others as having pre-scripted thoughts with no free will of their own, and most people are not unique or thoughtful. So I decided to use a font which is pixelated to reference the roots of the term, bringing an association with video games. Furthermore I used gray as the background as it is the same skin tone which NPCs are most commonly depicted in memes. Grey reflects blandness and boringness which is exactly what the NPC represents.

Proposals
Proposal 1:
Sigma Nation Club. Σ
For this project our group and I will make a fake club on campus to spread the message “Humans are never fulfilled, blame NPCs!”. This Club will be called “Sigma Nation of Free Thinkers. We will spread our message via creating flyers for our new “club” and post them around campus, and school email. We will make a discord community as well. Then we will have a meeting during our presentation day in-class as a performative art piece. Where we just play sigma male videos.
Title: THE SIGMA MALE CLUB PROMOTION POSTER (Version 1)
Dimensions: 8.5 inch x 11 inch
Medium/Materials: digital art, paper, printer ink
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Proposal 2: T-shirts
My group and I will design a t-shirt which includes a suffering man surrounded by NPCS. Then we will make these t-shirts and give them out around campus. While wearing the t-shirts. We can use a website to buy our custom shirts or use the print lab to screen print them.
Tumblr media
Proposal 3: McDonald suffering
In public we go on campus to storefronts. One of us is dressed as a worker such as a McDonald's worker or Starbucks barista. And they are going insane. Around him are the other group members in NPC masks acting mindless and bugging him.
youtube
Tumblr media
5: Vtuber
We make a Vtuber to spread our message. Her name will be NPC-Chan and she will be one of our members pretending to be a hyper-advanced artificial ai non-player character. We will create a twitch or tiktok livestream and promote it via social media and on campus. The NPC-chan will be a preformative character in which she fakes a persona of caring for her viewers yet is secretly kinda toxic and will leave the viewer unsatisfied. The vtuber will use motion capture animation filters created with programs such as vroid studio, adobe character animator and snapchat. Just like how anime vtubers leave people unsatisfied as they will never be truly real. This also relates to our articles revolving around ai art, and also ideas around gender changing. As despite our team being male we are performing femininity.

PRESENT
(Our Phrase: "Humans Are Never Fulfilled Blame NPCs")
(group: Alex, David, Gabriel, Chris)
Title: PROTEST: MOB MENTALITY VS MOB MENTALITY
Dimensions: Two 8.5 inch x 11 inch sheets
Medium/Materials: performance, paper, printer ink
Here we are protesting against the NPCS. We do our protest via robotic marching and chanting like the robotic and inhuman non-player characters. Our actions relate to our message, we are unfilled so we rise against our so-called 'enemies' by calling them NPCs while acting like NPCs ourselves. Yet, we act like NPC’s by joining in like an entirely unquestioning mob. Ironically NPCs being a symbol of mob mentality we retaliate by acting like a mob in return. Thus putting into question the effectiveness of protests.
We spread our message in the law building, by being in an institution and building which is inherently a place of political education, we are spreading our message to the future lawyers and lawmakers of our country.
To further support our message and make it a protest we printed out messages and held them out like protest signs. To make sure the papers were immortalized, we printed and posted the memes in the hallway of the law building so everyone could know the truth. This was placed right next to posters promoting clubs and school events.
