What would be each of the flags idea of a romantic date?
Love your writing! Hope you have a good day!!
lippmann: he’d pull out all the bells and whistles — I’m talking candlelit dinner at a fancy restaurant kind of thing. expect a bouquet of roses, compliments every other sentence, and etc. out of all the flags, he’s the most romantic one.
chuuya: he likes to pamper the people he’s close to, so he’d probably finish all the chores and set up the house for a nice night in. a bath would be prepared (which he would usher his partner to as soon as they get home) and by the time they get out, the snacks, blanket fort, and TV would be ready.
albatross: he would definitely take his partner out. if he’s taking a car, he’d yap to them on the way to a drive-in movie. in the beginning, he’d make an effort to hold their hand over the center console (he often drives one-handed), but then he’d get too invested in his stories and start using his other hand to gesture. if he’s using the motorcycle, he would just take his partner on a long drive with no destination so both of them could feel only the wind and each other (his partner will wrap their arms around him— otherwise, they might go flying).
iceman: probably a nice sunset picnic followed by stargazing (with cuddling). he’s not one for grand gestures, so his partner will have to read between the lines.
doc: he’s not the best cook, but he’s a quick-thinker, good with his hands, and enjoys the process of making something. he would find it fun (and a good bonding experience— or an exercise in communication) to cook/bake together with his partner.
piano man: he’d invite his partner to some fancy place that he rented out. when they enter, he’d take their hand and kiss it, then swoop them into a slow dance with soft, romantic music playing in the background.

╰┈➤ the flags and their rooms ✧.*
lippmann: has a big ass wardrobe (yes, it’s a walk-in, is that even a question?) that makes up at least 30% of his room. decor-wise, it looks very prince-ly (tastefully elegant and spotless). he has paraphernalia from the various movies he’s been in, but it’s well-incorporated so it doesn’t ruin his aesthetic.
chuuya: posters of his favorite bands are hung up on the walls. it’s kept pretty neat because he just dislikes having a messy space, but it’s decorated enough to feel homey (the flags were appalled by how barren his room used to be, so now he has a lot of useless knick knacks). the moment he found out the wonders of wine, he had a wine cellar attached to his room.
albatross: car show posters and other vintage rock stuff is everywhere. his room fluctuates between being a hot mess or like a nuclear bomb went off in it — there’s no in-between. he also owns a private hangar for all the vehicles he collects that basically counts as his second bedroom for all the time he spends in it customizing (and admiring) his stuff.
iceman: literally has the most normal, ordinary, boring room in existence. the walls are bare and the only way to know it’s even lived in is the things littered around whose sole function is to make life easier (think stuff like: a roomba, a book holder for when you’re lying in bed, and cup holders - so many cup holders).
doc: his room is a fucking mess - probably because half of it functions as his lab. there are medical textbooks and health files scattered everywhere along with pills and various drugs/chemicals. none of it makes it to the floor though, so dragging his drip stand around isn’t a nightmare.
piano man: he has OCD, so his room is immaculately organized. bookshelves line the walls and a grand piano features prominently in the space. you’ll also find a lot of papers, supernotes, and other musical instruments. not part of his room or connected to it, but 100% has a torture dungeon somewhere.

╰┈➤ the flags and their special interests ✧.*
lippmann: perhaps predictably, he’s very good at politics. he’s knowledgeable about the human psyche (peoples’ motivations for their actions, etc) and knows how to read people well.
chuuya: he could beat you in a math competition any day, and he’s gotten especially good at physics because of his ability.
albatross: because of the nature of his role, he knows a lot about vehicles. he’s familiar with all the pieces that make up most vehicles and likes to customize his (by making them a death trap). he could be a mechanic with all the knowledge he has.
iceman: super adaptable and knows 50 different ways to kill someone at any given time and place. he’s good with nearly any kind of weapon and this helps him turn most objects — which may not traditionally be considered a weapon — deadly.
doc: a chemistry god. he makes his own drug cocktails and loves to experiment (just tell him what you need it to do and he will find a way to get that effect). his deep knowledge of his craft terrifies everyone because he can make miracles happen and no one wants to deal with his biological warfare fighting style.
piano man: an all-rounder. he’s pretty good at most things and can pick things up quickly. he’s always interested in trying new things (and adding them to his skill repertoire).

Thank you so much for the headcanons on the dancing flags!!!! Could you please do one with how they are with PDA?
Thanks!!!!!!!
lippmann, albatross: very comfortable with PDA and, in fact, will initiate it more than half the time. lippmann is more inclined toward dramatic/showy gestures of PDA, while albatross is just very touchy and doesn’t even realize (most of the time) exactly what he’s doing in front of an audience.
chuuya: it depends on the mood he’s in. he can be shy and defensive (tsundere) or he can play along and confidently return it. usually, he’s not the one initiating PDA because he doesn’t like strangers snooping into his relationships.
iceman: he’ll never initiate PDA, but he’s surprisingly accepting of it and may even reciprocate if he’s in a good mood. regardless, he prefers keeping his relationships private and away from prying eyes.
doc: doesn’t initiate PDA very often — not because he’s a private person, but because he doesn’t really know how (it just doesn’t come naturally to him like it does with albatross). the same goes for accepting it from others; he gets a little awkward, but he’s not uncomfortable, and he genuinely does like it.
piano man: will randomly decide to initiate PDA (usually to make some kind of point), while other times he’ll shut it down.

╰┈➤ how the flags dress for bed ✧.*
lippmann: wears a sleeping robe. the others bought him one of those dramatic feather robes (meant for women) as a joke — well, jokes on them, he wears it all the time!
chuuya: wears a regular t-shirt and baggy sweatpants. sometimes, he’ll steal albatross’ shirts. whenever he does that, the whole outfit ends up looking oversized.
albatross: wears joggers and those men’s tank tops with open sides.
iceman: he sleeps without a shirt because he gets hot easily, but he’ll wear joggers.
doc: he runs cold and it's even worse at night, so he wears sweaters to bed and sleep pants that aren’t tight but aren’t super loose either.
piano man: definitely one of those people who wear matching (satin) pajama sets.

╰┈➤ the flags and their love languages ✧.*
physical touch: albatross (bear hugs, side hugs, arm slung around the shoulders, pinching cheeks, cuddling, falling asleep on their shoulders/lap, holding hands to drag them places, bumping into them on purpose — he does it all)
quality time: chuuya (definitely a hover-er and will make room in his busy schedule for the people he cares about)
gift giving: iceman (he notices the small things like his loved ones’ favorite food, color, and etc)
acts of service: piano man (in the form of doing favors — and this is significant because no one can force this man to do anything), doc (in the form of healing and taking care of injuries)
words of affirmation: lippmann (his melodic voice often soothes his loved ones to sleep, and his silver tongue is able to successfully pacify fear, stress, anger, and other kinds of negative emotion)

How are the flags when they get sick? Who’s the grumpiest? Who tries to go to work anyways? Who’s the biggest baby about it? What makes them feel better?
lippmann: the drama queen that he is, he’ll exploit even the smallest of sickness to get affection and attention. his acting skills really help him sell it - though the others know him enough to know better, they still fall for it every time.
chuuya: acts like he’s not sick and will go to work. he could be coughing his lungs out yet he’d still show up perfectly on time. fortunately, he only puts up a small fight when it comes to taking medicine (less so if doc’s the one telling him to).
albatross: definitely the biggest baby about it. he’s clingy and an attention hog, and he will monopolize your time. everyone within a five mile radius of him will know he’s sick and, like lippmann, he’ll make you feel bad if you leave him to deal with it by himself.
iceman: he’s probably the most reasonable and normal about being sick. he’ll take his medicine if he needs it. he knows his limits, so he’ll only try to do what he can handle (and if that means nothing, then he’ll take the day off and enjoy a nice day of reading and resting in bed). if it gets more serious, he’ll ask doc what to do. his body is his greatest weapon, so he does his best to take care of it and treat it right - he needs to be in top condition to do his work, after all.
doc: as someone who’s been dealing with chronic sickness for a long time, he’s unsurprisingly the best at dealing with it. if it’s really affecting him, he’ll brew his own medicine, but usually he’ll just sleep it off.
piano man: grumpy and prefers to be alone. getting sick is the bane of his existence because he feels it really impedes him and losing even a smidge of control over his faculties annoys him. the best thing you can do is to give him his space to recover (he hates appearing vulnerable to others).

Can the flags dance?
lippmann and piano man definitely can. they are very elegant and smooth, making any dance look easy regardless of the style or pace. lippmann is an amazing lead and follow, while piano man only wants to lead. if you’re looking to learn, they would be great teachers.
chuuya and iceman are not as good, but they’re not bad either. they know enough to get by and are really good at improvising (read: fake it ‘til you make it) when they’re out of their depth. both don’t have a preference, but because of their heights, chuuya usually ends up following and iceman ends up leading.
doc — bless his heart — tries, though it takes a lot of convincing to get him to dance in the first place. his IV usually gets in the way, so he would eventually take it out if he were to actually get serious about dancing. he prefers to follow because he has zero idea what he’s doing.
albatross might actually know how to dance, but he does badly on purpose. he’s wild, unpredictable, and sharp — if he wanted to, he’d probably be good at hip-hop and breakdancing style. don’t ask him to partner dance unless you’re prepared to be dipped at random moments and twirled until you’ve got shaken baby syndrome — you’ve been warned.

Could you maybe do headcanons, (or however you wanna do it!!!) for the flags with a 7th somewhat newer member who’s their first girl. I just love the concept of them having to get used to their dynamic shifting when they’ve suddenly got a little lady on the team. Especially if the woman on their team is super soft and gentle and feminine.
I know they’re all already besties and i love their dynamic so so much. The way you write them just bantering and hanging out makes me so happy. I’m just curious about how you think that dynamic would work with a fem person who’s just sweet and very casually touchy feely unlike them. So like, while they’re all chatting and playing pool and stuff, if she’s standing next to one of them she’s doing something like like casually scratching her nails along their back or pausing to fix a stray strand of their hair/ gently adjusting their clothes for them. I just think that is soooo polar opposite of the general tough guy mafia energy that it would throw a hilarious wrench in their dynamic.
Bonus if she starts referring to them as “her boys.” Casually.
If you don’t wanna write it, that’s totally fine! No pressure! I just love the way you handle their GROUP dynamic and dialogue specifically. It makes me so happy. If you aren’t comfortable with that then I’d also always be happy to just see more of what you think them hanging out looks like. Thank you so soooo much!!
Aww, thank you!! I’m so happy you like the way I write them! We know so little about them that I’m worried they’ve mutated into my OCs at this point instead of following canon.
If you just want to see more of them, I’ve got good news! Currently have a cute comfort drabble in the drafts, and I’ve already started plotting a full AU fic where they take center stage, so stay tuned for that! The challenge is just getting myself to write it, but I made a promise to myself to at least start posting the first few chapters before the Stormbringer manga run ends.
Now, without further ado, my headcanons for the Flags with a female member:
It takes a while for the girl to ingratiate herself into the group. They’re not necessarily wary of her (not more than they are other people), but it’s just hard to infiltrate such a close-knit group.
In the beginning, things are a little stilted as the dynamic shifts to accommodate another person. At this time, the girl would have to be careful when and how much affection she shows with them. They can still bite at any moment — one wrong move and it’s over.
Once they’ve accepted her into the group, their dynamic with each other remains largely the same. They still banter and roughhouse, but now they have a girl to include in their antics (if she’s willing).
The girl would be their “star” — the one who stands in the light and staves off a little of the darkness of the mafia world. Seeing as she’s soft and gentle, they would probably work together to keep her blind to the true nature of their work. Sometimes, though, Albatross and Chuuya’s filters malfunction (especially when they’re arguing), so Piano Man and Lippmann often have to redirect the girl’s attention.
When there’s an audience, they wouldn’t want the girl to be touchy with them (they have a reputation to maintain, damn it!) with the only exception being Lippmann. If it’s just their group, they’re more accepting.
Piano Man accepts the casual touches like he’s owed them. He’s not embarrassed by it at all and will exaggeratedly reciprocate to get a rise out of the girl.
Albatross basks in it. He’s a touchy person himself, but the other Flags aren’t big on initiating skinship, so he loves that their new member returns his easy affections.
If Iceman and Chuuya flinch, it’s because they’re used to watching their backs, and letting someone be close enough to them to be able to give those casual touches is uncomfortable and strange. The others will tease them for it endlessly (mostly Chuuya because his reactions are funnier and Iceman is like a stone wall).
“Are you guys really that scared of a little girl?” (Albatross) or “It’s obvious Chuuya’s never felt the touch of a woman before.” (Doc)
Where Albatross is more overt and loud with his physical affection, Lippmann is subtle and chaste. He’s probably a little more touchy than Albatross, actually, it’s just that no one notices. Him and the girl would be like two peas in a pod.
Doc acts like he’s not affected or he doesn’t care about it, but in reality, he gravitates toward the casual touches. He’s kinda like a cat.
The Flags are protective of each member of their group and value each other’s opinions because they all bring a different strength to the table. Naturally, this would extend to the girl. Considering her personality, her role would probably lean into that of a caretaker. She could ease tempers and provide the emotional comfort/healing that Doc isn’t good at. Those that aren’t as in touch with their emotional side (Chuuya) or don’t like being vulnerable (Piano Man, Iceman) may snarl at her attempts, but they are eventually receptive.
When she refers to them as “her boys” while in their presence, Chuuya is (predictably) embarrassed, Lippmann laughs it off good-naturedly, Albatross lights up and proclaims “I love you too!” all dramatically, Piano Man asks her not to say it in front of other people (but ultimately lets her do it), Doc says something along the lines of “I’m not that young, you know,” through his amusement, and Iceman is unbothered but likes watching the chaos unfold.
Hope this is what you were looking for!

╰┈➤ the flags and cooking ✧.*
lippmann, chuuya: competent cooks (and they like cooking for the others so it works out). chuuya uses his ability to help him prep if he needs to make a large meal — he’s basically the equivalent of a dozen cooks.
iceman, doc: they can cook, but they’re not the first people to be asked to cook for the group (nor do they volunteer). if they have absolutely no choice, they are good enough to be able to feed themselves and survive, but their food is mostly basic and functional.
albatross, piano man: terrible cooks. they were left unsupervised one time and they burned water, so they’ve been banned from stepping foot in the kitchen (which they don’t mind because they would rather have someone else cook for them anyway). you would think it’s just one big scheme to get out of doing work, but no — they genuinely can’t cook for shit.

bungo stray dogs (stormbringer) crack drabble about piano man and his jokes + the flags' reaction
author's note and warnings; my fellow flags enjoyers (there's actually so many of you out there, hiii!) I come bearing gifts. I need more of their friendship in my life. terrible jokes ahead - but other than that, no warnings apply. credit. inspo.
laughter is the best medicine; The Old World is, predictably, loud and busy on a Friday evening. Amongst the crowd is a group whom the staff are well familiar with. They're regulars, but even if they weren't, the sheer eccentricity of the group would ensure they were recognized anywhere.
They occupy a pool table in the back of the bar which has since been deemed 'their' table. No one dares to approach them - the bar staff are 99% sure they're mafioso - though there is the occasional brave fangirl that tries to shoot their shot with the group's resident dreamy actor.
Despite their intimidating looks, though, the bar staff have come to understand that they're just a regular group of guys hanging out and being guys.
After all, it's hard to take someone seriously when they don't even take themselves seriously.
"So how are those supernotes coming along, Piano Man?" Doc teased, knowing damn well that the leader of their group had missed yet another deadline.
“You can’t rush perfection,” the man huffed. “They’ll get done when I feel like they’re done and not a moment sooner.”
“I’m sure the boss loves that,” Chuuya commented with a raised brow.
“He can wait,” Piano Man said haughtily. He leaned forward, eyes focused on the 8 ball. “I have other plans that take precedence.”
At that, everyone perked up.
“Oh? And what plans are those?” Lippmann asked curiously. He leaned against the table, sipping from his wine glass. It didn’t matter if he got a little drunk now; the game was already over.
The leader of their little group aimed his cue stick and reeled his arm back to punt it forward. The cue ball strikes its target square on, ricocheting it straight into the back corner pocket. Satisfied, Piano Man straightened up. “I had some war plans drafted that I was going to share with you all…”
Before anyone can open their mouth and ask him what war he was talking about—
“But I thought it would bomb.”
The line was delivered so deadpan and with the smuggest smile one could make.
A lot of things happened at once.
Albatross gaped at him for a second (like he couldn’t believe Piano Man had made such a terrible joke), then started laughing so hard he couldn’t breathe.
Doc sent the blonde a concerned (and appalled) look. “Albatross, you’re the only one that found that funny…”
If any of them had been paying attention, they would’ve heard a small huff of laughter coming from Iceman. It’s quickly and smoothly covered up by a puff of his cigarette.
Chuuya held his cue stick in one hand while the other pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. “I’m crashing out.”
Finally, Lippmann could only give their leader a wry, exasperated smile. “Piano Man… you’re so embarrassing…”
Although his joke totally bombed (no pun intended) with its audience, Piano Man looked pleased, almost proud at the varying degrees of incredulity he managed to get out of his friends. So, against everyone’s wishes, he continued.
”I lost the fight to battle those urges...” he said dramatically as everyone looked at him with wide eyes, unable to stop this train wreck of an evening. “But at least I took a shot at it.”
“STOP,” Chuuya was the first one to act after several seconds of silence. To anyone else, it would’ve been uncomfortable, but Piano Man relished in it. “JUST STOP. I can’t take any more of this!”
Albatross had already been precariously teetering on his seat from laughter. The second (worthless) joke only renewed it, causing him to laugh so hard he falls out of his chair and onto the floor (this does not stop him from continuing to laugh).
Doc sighs in fond disbelief as he gets up to help the younger man off the floor. He shakes his head, “This is getting out of hand,” in regard to Piano Man’s antics, but the mischievous glint in his eye would prove he wasn’t actually against it.
Iceman almost chokes on his cigarette at the sheer stupidity of it all. This time, he’s unable to cover up the spluttered cough, but fortunately, no one pays it any heed. Still, he has to look away from them (he knows he’ll start laughing otherwise and that wouldn’t be a good look for his stoic reputation).
Meanwhile, Lippmann has danced away and is pretending to ignore the group by initiating conversation with a random stranger. “Who, him? No, I don’t know him.” All the while looking absolutely clueless.
“But you all walked in together??”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” (Gaslighter.)
All in all, a very normal Friday evening.
