for the people hurt by the ending chapter

it’s said that when something becomes popular enough, it gains a mind of its own; rather, it is no longer the author’s story but that of the majority who believe in it. so what that means is that if ichiruki is canon to you, if in the ending chapter you feel like Ichigo and Rukia should have been married with kids and Ywach should have come back to life to terrorize them a little for complete and utter closure–then that’s what should have happened. you do not have to accept this ending, knowing what has come before.

remember that Ichigo traversed worlds for Rukia, that he defeated the entirety of Soul Society for her. remember that in the face of a powerful enemy, he turned away bc Rukia’s reiatsu was fading and he wanted to go over and help her. remember that Rukia jumped in front of Ichigo without thought in order to protect his life. remember Nel and Riruka holding grudges against Rukia bc they saw the way he looked at her and understood: he loves her. remember that Ichigo’s world stopped turning bc Rukia left it.

remember that one flimsy, rushed ending chapter shoving characters together means nothing in the face of the hundreds of chapters of canon development we’ve had between Ichigo and Rukia. it does not cancel out what we have been shown Ichigo and Rukia feel for each other.

to me, what Ichigo and Rukia have done for each other, what they feel for each other–that is love. and I know I’m not stupid or reading this manga out of my ass when there is so much proof before my eyes of that love. there is nothing that will ever convince me otherwise. I do not believe in an ending where Ichigo is happily married to a woman who claimed she was his rain, who did not understand his resolve to protect, begged him to save her at the risk of his own life, tried to molest him in his sleep, and pried into his private life without his permission. that is not love. that is not understanding. that’s stalking, that’s unrequited and one-sided, that is selfish and cowardly, and while I don’t dislike Orihime at all, her actions and thoughts concerning Ichigo are unhealthy and unfair to the both of them.

I know you are hurting. I know you are in disbelief. but last but not least, remember that being canon actually doesn’t even fucking matter at this point. if the spoilers are true, do not be hateful. do not be mean or rude. be gracious, as they have never been gracious to us. let them celebrate their two chapters of handholding and their copout ending. we have forgotten more material about ichiruki than they will ever have for their own ship.

God, this is so true, it really surprises me or well, not so much, as IH shippers seem to defend their partner with less valid arguments than before, it's very funny indeed, they themselves make the IH look bad by not having solid bases with which to defend themselves as a fanbase of the couple LOL.

Let's be honest, the age difference? It really is the least important thing in the anime/manga world, even more so seeing Ichigo's parents, surely if he was older, a Shōjo, Harem or a Hentai/Echii would not care.

"Orihime "looks" like Masaki". Let's face it, that's the creepiest and disgusting thing they could take as justification... They should remember that... MASAKI IS HIS MOTHER!! For no reason could that sound good. It sounds INCESTUOUS.

That in the manga IH if it was developed? Well, what the hell do they have in their head? Air? Look, in the manga itself there are enough things to justify IR even more than IH, because if they forgot, the anime was based on manga.... No matter how much "filler" they put in the anime, it all carried the basis of the manga.

Look, a boy and a girl CAN be friends without romance involved, the sibling thing is another story, that's what I think I've talked about before in my profile.... Just because siblings and friends DON'T look at each other like they did, let alone promised each other so much in that sense, they don't tell each other that depressions ended because of the other, they don't take their lack as an ongoing depression and much less share the same situations they faced and lived with TOGETHER.

For a relationship to work, it only needs to have ONE thing... A foundation of friendship good enough to know that this relationship in question can prevail in any adversity without falling apart due to lack of trust or problems between them that they do not know how to solve because they know each other too little.

Also, what is this "they have been married for more than 20 years and have a son" ...Wow Sherlock, good job, I didn't know that, what a great conclusion you just drew, I wouldn't have imagined it.... This is unbelievable, that everything ended like this only confirms that Bleach had one or even the worst ending in the history of manga, just because they confirmed the "couples" they wanted and not relevant enough things.... Little do we get to know about the rest of the characters and what happened to them in the end.

Just because an ending is canonical does not mean it is good. The same with a couple.

Now yeah, really after EVERYTHING that was shown in the trailer, taking the lyrics of that song and the scenes? They were saying it was because of Orihime? Just because they hate IR and can't accept something as simple as us always having a couple with more development than them? I'm sorry, I don't know if I can still have the same respect for them that IH's never had for us.

I can't even go on YouTube to search for Miyavi's Die for Love song without IH shippers in the comments going, "it's for Orihime" using that old mistranslation of Ichigo's thoughts in HM arc before dying as proof. They fight for relevancy so hard.

Ew, they think that? Absolute nonsense. The song was first used in that Soul Society arc trailer for the Rebirth of Souls game, the chorus playing during Rukia scenes... (sorry that it's in ENG dub 😬😅). Here's a gif set too. It's clearly about IR. Rukia was ready to die as long as Ichigo would be okay. And Ichigo was dead set on saving Rukia no matter what. He was also ready to die for her.

Some claim he actually died when his soul chain was cut by Urahara during training, like HELLO??

And he was victorious after all that. It was all worth it for that smile.

Meanwhile, Ichigo didn't get back up for Ori in particular. He needed to save in general, regardless of whom, as he only heard "someone" calling. It's his instinct. But, it was then that his Hollow/Zangetsu took over, as his Hollow only cares about Ichigo, & nearly killed Ishida AND Ori in the process... This wonderful post goes over this with the correct translation of that dome scene.

Ichigo did NOT feel victorious after that fight. He even showed more concern for Ishida than Ori after he regained consciousness, lol. It wasn't until he talked to Rukia that he felt a bit better.

As a bonus, according to this post (check out the whole thread if interested 🤭), the song also plays during Ulquiorra's POV while fighting VL Ichigo... like... We know Ulquiorra's fate... Who else would the song be about but the woman who intrigued him? The woman he was fighting to keep on his their side? 👀

So, basically, the song played for IR & UH? Lol... Don't know if it played for others but I find this funny... Seems like the devs gave everyone some crumbs...

Well, let's talk about Rukia and Renji, really the Renruki would have been good and even sweet if at least on my part I hadn't seen them as siblings during their first interactions. I admit it was really awkward to see them get married and have a daughter, regardless of Ichigo not staying with Rukia, it was more about the fact that I found it, awkward, morbid and probably gross that Rukia and Renji had more interactions of the fraternal type (at least on Rukia's part) and then they come along and show up married and with Ichika. It's awkward, it really is, with Renji and Orihime they could have done something "love overcoming" type thing something that doesn't show you that you will always get the heart of the person you love, because that person also has a heart and feelings, and yes, it's fine to fall in love and all that, but it's not good to get your hopes up like that and have everything end up as you expected, it's the most common cliche in the story.

Besides, Rukia had deeper interactions with Ichigo, she never shared those looks with Renji. I say all this leaving aside that Renji went to look for her for her execution, and literally only came to his senses when Ichigo fought with him, because even if it wasn't for Ichigo, Rukia would have been executed and Renji wouldn't have lifted a finger to prevent it. I understand that it hurt him that she was going to be executed and also that he had to follow orders, but I still don't understand how duty overcame his "love" for Rukia. I mean, if you know she'll be executed JUST LET ICHIGO GO FOR HER!!! but of course he fought Ichigo to try to stop him from saving her. I really don't know if he was either really dumb or really had nothing but infatuation for her. For it seemed like he loved Byakuya more than the very girl he grew up with and spent so much of his childhood with.

it must be said, there was no "love" there, he literally betrayed Rukia, her childhood friend he claimed to love so much, it's bad enough that she forgave him, I really find it quite annoying how he behaved with her and how he didn't seem to care about her execution when he said he "LOVED" her.

besides, they did with him almost the same as with Orihime, he only presented himself as someone weak who has never won a fight and was only there to marry the girl who was more than a friend, like his sister.

I guess the best thing he did, was to apologize and be a good friend to both Rukia and Ichigo after everything that happened in the SS arc and help Ichigo save her.

Annoying? annoying is when you say you like ichiruki and magically assume you hate Orihime. I mean, it bothered me that she broke up romantically with Ichigo but that doesn't mean she hates her. Of course, I hate the poor development they gave her. Literally the only thing she did in the entire anime was to be Ichigo's "love interest" when they forgot to introduce her as a dependent character. They had the opportunity to explore his entire personality in depth, taking into account various moments that marked his life, such as Sora's death.

Let's take into account that they usually always say "I'm too tired of a boy and girl friendship ending in romance" well, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU WAITING FOR? only two good friends are capable of starting a sustainable relationship. Let's be honest, Ichigo and Uryu technically treated Inoue almost equally. Really friends or siblings looked or interacted like they did? ) they decided it would be better to leave him with Orihime and him loving each other in a very pure way (only Orihime showed signs of this). Besides, if they had developed their relationship in a different way at the beginning of the anime and manga, believe me it could have been a logical and even cute couple, everything lost its meaning when she just seemed to be the typical girl they kidnapped and had to save heroically following the prototype of the perfect prince and became one of the main sources of fan service.

That aside, it was refreshing to see a character as sweet as her in so many conflicts during a series that was quite series in several issues. The problem was that she had everything to show to be a character of self-improvement overcoming Ichigo and realizing that she didn't have to chain herself to a heart that didn't belong to her, it would have been better to have seen her with someone else, making her life happy and maturing in a warm way, she deserved a better treatment, and ending up lovingly with Ichigo never was. She became in my opinion, the poorest female character of the series, without something characteristic that made her to be remembered.

Well, I've asked Chat GPT to analyze a correct ending for Bleach taking into account the biggest problem that the fandom went through (THE SHIPS) and it literally drew the best conclusion I've ever seen and it may have been the most accurate

It really makes me laugh how when we say something like "the ichihime was a little (very) forced" they come and throw at you that they have been married for 10 years and that Rukia was just their friend, that we have the concept of love and friendship altered. The irony is that Rukia never went into what they were told and they bring it up as justification, it's funny how she comes back with each hate of theirs because that way we can pretend that the ichiruki will never die, because they bring up the subject more than us. As for love and friendship, Orihime and Ichigo did not have enough development together to assume that the love was very great between them because only Orihime sent signs of this, Ichigo only showed the typical concern he always had with friends and family.

I told myself I wasn’t gonna finish this… but then I found out the BLEACH anime is returning for the Quincy Arc in 2021 and I could no longer let this rot in my WIPS folder… ~~ Remember… when BLEACH’s filler arc team thought introducing literal vampires into the BLEACH series would be a good idea? Introducing witches into the BLEACH franchise is gonna have the exact same impact, and it’ll be anything but good asalkjflkdjflkj While the anime has changed or introduced different aspects into the story, it’s questionable whether they were always for the better or even really added much to the story. So I have very low hopes of the anime actually fixing certain parts of the arc that required more thought put into them. But I will kiss the ground Zangetsu walks on. I’ll watch the anime, and I’m watching for my Zangetsu boys only!! Just make Kazui a bitter, angsty demon child and I will happily keep my mouth shut and fawn over him day and night I promise

As I said before, they are a disgustingly toxic fandom most of the time because apparently they are more obsessed with ichiruki than we are, they just want to share the same opinion lmao, they really make me laugh on many occasions, and I saw another comment that said "how can they continue to ship ichiruki in the middle of 2025 if ichihime is a canon and they have a child" (again the same and exhausting excuse as always) And they say this knowing that the fanbase since the beginning of the manga was based on Ichiruki.

Ichigo dated, married and even had a kid with Inoue. Did Yhwach ever came back during these moments? Moments that were supposed to be the happiest moments of his life? No. Same thing for Rukia.

Chad became a boxer, his promise to his grandpa? To the trash. Uryu became a doctor, the very thing he despised, and will never be able to realize his grandpa’s dream of a coexistence between shinigamis and quincies, cause his entire race has been annihilated. Inoue had to drop out of college and the only reason her and Ichigo became a thing is bc Renji pushed him to date her. Wow great. Rukia is not a Kuchiki anymore. Renji has been unreciprocated as well through the whole manga. And Ichigo? Condemned to live a mundane life as a boring translator with someone he’s not happy with.

So yes IH and RR happened, but trust me, they’re not happy. Nobody in the gang is truly happy. And yk what the gag is? Yhwach comes back when Ichigo and Rukia start arguing again.

So now stop wasting your time with antis with big ass paragraphs. If you do, just use what you know now. If they still find a way to argue about this? I read people IchiHime and RenRuki fans writing that IchiRuki fans ship UlquiHime or IshiHime just to get Inoue out of the way. Absolutely not, maybe this is what IchiHime fans do with Rukia supporting RenRuki.

I, as a lot of fans here, ship IshiHime because I like it,independently  by IchiRuki.

I ship them because I love them togheter, because I love Ishida’s love towards Orihime, that is in opposition to Inoue’s crush or maybe obsession towards Ichigo and I think Orihime’s temper is consonant to Ishida’s one not Ichigo’s.

I see IchiHime’s arguments about Ichigo’s love for Inoue in this last arc, one of the most popular “proofs” of that is this:

I won’t deny that Ichigo took her and protected her, but to a not-shallow reading, this is not sign of love, but concern, of course, it is not necessary the crystal ball to understand that. And I say that, because are not emphasized Ichigo’s feeling towards Inoue, the whole scene is fast and the romantic potential is ruined by Chad’s sudden play. We can see, a totally different thing here:

There is nothing to say, different times, emphasis, a volute focus. And I can’t get why IshiHime is so denigrated, how the spontaneous act of protecting of Ichigo can be seen as romanitc, and Ishida’s one not, there are writing technical expedients that proof that, and are evident.

Now let’s see HM arc, more know as  “Ichigo x Orihime’s arc”, I could write pages and pages about the differences between Ichigo’s fellings and intentions in this arc and SS arc, but I won’t because I could flow in IchiRuki discussion and this is an IshiHime post.

First of all, in this arc, Orihime’s life has been safeguarded by Ishida and Ulquiorra, because Ichigo’s hollow was going to kill her, but this seems to be just a detail. And who is there saving his beloved girl Orihime when Ichigo returned form death became an Hollow?

Ishida understands Orihime just looking at her, and what kills my heart, is that he perfectly know about her crush for Ichigo, know that even if he is there, next to her, to protect her, she thinks at another man, and just to see her smile, just to make she feels better speaks about Ichigo. 

And the confirmation is there:

My heart.

Now let’s see the last arc, or even knew as “IchiHime epopee”.

There is just a focus on Ishida and Orihime, it must be a case, it’s clear.

Now I love how IchiHime argue that chapter, the eye comprehension, Ichigo’s concern for Orihime, but they ignore again the fact that at the centre of the scene there is not an IchiHime moment, but Orihime’s sadness because of Ishida, and Ichigo gets that, and so cheers her up.

At last, sorry for the long post, I am mortified, I want to face the main issue:

IshiHime is one sided. IchiHime is one sided. So why you think IshiHime is a better pair then IchiHime, if the situation is the same one?

Ishida’s felling towards Orihime are totally different from Orihime’s one towards Ichigo. Ishida’s love is mature, unselfish and pure. He had been never jealous of Ichigo, conversely, he always cheered Orihime up talking about him, he always supported her without asking anything, he always protected her without trying to show nothing. Ishida’s love for Inoue is like Katagiri’s for Ryuuken.

Orihime’s crush, because is not love, is a crush, for Ichigo isn’t deep as Ishida’s one, and you can find the proof in the fandom, who still adfirm that romance is sex, if there is not sex it is platonic only.

Orihime a few times was sad because she wasn’t the one who cheered Ichigo up, but was Rukia, she was sad because Ichigo didn’t look at her as he looks at Rukia, and both those things sign the difference not only between Ishida and Orihime’s love, but even with Ichigo and Rukia’s bond, because Orihime till the end, till chapter 686 won’t be able to cheer Ichigo up, or if she did, it hasn’t been written.

The difference between those two ships are that one exalts a love of waiver, sacrifice, soundless comprehension and emotion, and the other one is just immoderate wish of possession, physical attraction and self-reliant love.
