Bucky Barnes x Reader
Summary : After the one night stand 2 weeks ago, Bucky and Y/n bump into each other in the least expected place.
Words : 2.2K
Warnings : None
A/n : When I wrote the first part I had the entire thing planned out, I knew exactly what I was going to write and how it was going to go; however that plan went to hell and I feel shitty so here you go. This part is more like a filler episode. I think (and hope) there will be one more part after this to put an end to this story. Let me know if you’d like to read more.

“On your left.”
Bucky groaned as he heard those words, then he felt Sam tap him lightly on his left shoulder. He never understood that inner joke Sam had with Steve, but now that the former Cap was gone, Sam was left with Bucky and kept the joke with him.
“Wilson!” He acknowledged Sam with a short nod, almost too formal, considering they were now friends. They could be considered friends in most days and Bucky was really grateful for Sam and his company, despite the fact that he’d rather cut his right arm as well than tell Sam that.
They were both standing outside a small flower shop inside the mall, acting as if casually spending their time there, however, in reality they had been following a dodgy guy they had information on. It wasn’t a real mission, however it was necessary to follow the guy and see what he was up to.
Bucky had lost him a while ago, not really focused on the task at hand, somewhat distracted from the thoughts in his head, lost in memories of that night from two weeks ago.
“We lost him man.” He heard Sam say, but didn’t respond. “The guys are tracking him down, spotted him heading to the east. There’s nothing left to do here, we should go.” As Sam spoke, he was already focused somewhere else, having seen a familiar figure walk inside the supermarket right across the spot they were standing.
At first, he didn’t believe his eyes, surely it was someone else, because there was no way she just walked inside that supermarket, gently pushing a stroller with a baby in it, talking and smiling to a man, who was holding a toddler from his hand. The boy was old enough to walk on his own, Bucky figured he’d be around 5, but the baby in the stroller was no older than 1 year old.
Sam was still talking but Bucky was solely focused on the scene in front of him. Y/n had just entered the supermarket, with what looked to be her husband and children. Bucky felt his heart skip a beat at the sight of her, then a pang of jealousy wash all over him in waves.
Without even thinking, his legs moved and he was walking in her direction slowly, as if he was afraid his legs would collapse underneath him.
He had been pacing in his room for almost an hour, contemplating if he should call her or not. It had been 3 days since that morning she left him alone in his bed and he hadn’t stopped thinking about her since.
She had closed the door behind her and left as if she had never been there, the only proof of her presence the other night was the smell of her perfume in his sheets. He had buried his head in the pillow she had slept and inhaled slowly, almost still feeling her there.
Now he was still pacing with the phone in his hand, finger hovering over her contact, contemplating if he should call her or not. She had his number as well, he thought, but she hadn’t called him. Maybe she didn’t want to speak to him. Maybe she didn’t want to see him again.
Bucky didn’t want to seem desperate, but he was dying to listen to her voice again, to see her again, to touch her again. A short second later he made up his mind and just clicked on her name, starting the call. He pressed the phone to his ear and waited, heart beating on his chest - and he felt like a teenage boy with a crush all over again.
Ring…
Ring…
Ring…
He was just about to give up and hang the call when he finally heard her voice on the other side. “Hey.” She sounded breathless, as if she had run to the phone. “Bucky.” She called his name and he felt his cheeks warm up just from her words.
“How are you doll?” He had finally asked, not wanting to sound like a creep on the phone.
She had answered and asked him how he was doing. Explained she had been working that’s why she sounded out of breath on the phone, she had run downstairs to grab the phone and answer it.
He had smiled at that. Then he had excused himself for calling and asked if he was bothering her.
She had apologised for not calling or texting earlier.
He told her it was okay. Then asked her if he could see her again.
Just as she was about to respond, he heard a cry coming from her side, it sounded like a baby crying. He heard her coo and speak softly to the baby crying and effectively calming the baby down.
He didn’t know what to think. Did she have a baby? Was she babysitting someone? That made sense, considering she just told him she was working.
It finally hit him that he knew nothing about her, who she was or what she did. He just knew that he had to see her again.
“I’m kind of busy this week,” he heard her speak. “Maybe the next one?” She suggested.
He had to leave on a mission on Sunday and he didn’t know when he would get back. He heard her sigh after he explained and in the same time calming the baby she was with.
“Some other time then, when we’re both free.” She said and he agreed with her.
They said their goodbyes and Bucky heard the line disconnect on her end. He put his phone down, kind of disappointed he wouldn’t get to see her sooner. At least she didn’t reject him altogether.
That went good, he thought, clinging to the hope that he would see her soon.
That phone call had been 10 days ago, now Bucky found himself walking behind her at the supermarket, watching how she talked to the man next to her, smiling to the little boy walking close to them.
Sam had called after him, but he dismissed him, telling him to go back to the compound without him.
He heard the baby fussing and starting to cry and Y/n bent down to the stroller, cooing and trying to calm her down. It didn’t work as the baby started crying more and she had to take the baby in her arms, rocking her gently and speaking animatedly to her.
“My baby’s fussy, isn’t she? Mama’s here little munchkin.” She spoke to the baby and Bucky stopped in his tracks. So it was Y/n’s baby.
Apparently she was a mom and she had a husband that was walking close to her and Bucky’s legs couldn’t stop moving anymore.
That’s why she was busy, he thought to himself.
She had a husband and a family and Bucky didn’t understand why she had gone home with him that night. She seemed happy and the man next to her seemed nice enough. So who was she? Why would she cheat on the poor guy?
“Y/n look, it’s the White Wolf!” The kid was speaking animatedly next to her but she was focused on the baby in her arms, trying to calm down her crying.
“What hon?” She asked absent-mindedly and the little boy just tugged her leg and looked in Bucky’s direction.
The man was a few steps ahead of her, pushing the now empty stroller and looking through the shelves on the cereal isle, not paying attention to Y/n and the kids.
Y/n turned around and her breath hitched at the sight of Bucky, not expecting to run into him at this place.
“Go to daddy and help him choose the cereal sweetie.” She spoke to the little boy next to her and he listened and ran to his father. She then felt her feet move towards Bucky, the baby in her arms now calm and curious, as if sensing her mom’s emotions. “Hey, Bucky!” She spoke as she was right in front of him. “This is the last place I thought I would see you.” She half joked and he almost scoffed at that.
“What does that mean?” He asked and Y/n could swear she sensed a note of hostility in his voice.
“How was your mission?” She then asked, not knowing what to answer to his question. The baby in her arms was looking at him intently, as if trying to study him.
Bucky looked back at the baby, she had Y/n’s eyes and the same hair color and he had to fight the smile from his lips from how cute she looked. He saw the baby reach her little hands out to him, as if she wanted to grab him and he gave her a small smile.
“Your daughter?” He then asked Y/n. He wasn’t sure why he was asking because he already knew, but he wanted to hear it from her. She slowly nodded her head, feeling somewhat ashamed that he had seen her here. Her hair was in a low ponytail and her eyes looked tired, more than the last time he had seen her. She was wearing a pair of washed out jeans and a black oversized shirt. She still looked beautiful to him though. She smiled sweetly at the baby and then turned to him and spoke. “Her name is Emma.”
He smiled upon hearing her name and the baby’s eyes turned to her mom as soon as she heard her name, as if she really understood they were talking about her.
“She looks like you.” Bucky commented shortly and he kept looking from her to the baby in her arm, as if trying to find as much similarities between them as possible. He then shifted his eyes to the man a few feet away from them, only to find him there with the little boy and while he had been solely focused on Y/n, another woman and a teenage girl had joined them. He looked back to Y/n then back to the people behind her, then the woman kissed the man’s lips.
Bucky didn’t know what to think anymore, lost in his thoughts while he was still focused on the people behind her.
“Ewwww.” He heard the boy yell and run away laughing, breaking him from his stupor.
“Y/n, we’re moving.” The woman called behind her and left the stroller there for Y/n to take again. Y/n replied with a short okay before turning her attention to Bucky again.
Having sensed his confusion, she was quick to explain. “That’s my older sister.” She then added. “And her husband. And her two kids.” Something then changed in his features, almost as if he finally gathered the pieces to form the puzzle and he let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding.
“What about your husband?” He then asked. Y/n looked sad upon his question and she could only shake her head in response. Then after a moment she spoke again.
“It’s just me and Emma.” She stated and Bucky thought he misheard her. But she spoke calmly and clearly as she said those words.
Bucky felt a heavy weight lifted from his chest and it was as if he could finally breathe again. But he didn’t know what to say to her anymore.
He shifted in her feet nervously and she could sense his restlessness.
“So, now that you’re back from your mission, maybe we could go out some time?” She asked timidly, almost hesitant.
She didn’t know if he would still want to see her again after finding out she had a baby, but she hoped he would say yes. It had been too long since the last time she was truly happy and the night she spent with him was one of the few times she allowed herself to forget about her problems.
Before she could overthink her question some more, she heard him finally respond. “I would love to. Do you want to grab a cup of coffee now?” He asked.
She looked at Bucky and then at the baby in her arm, then back at Bucky again, as if silently saying to him she couldn’t leave her daughter alone. She took a second more to think about her response before replying with a smile on her face. “Okay, yeah. I’ll just text my sister to let her know .”
She turned around to take the stroller again and put her daughter back, before fishing her phone out of the back pocket of hear jeans and quickly typing in it.
She then turned again to Bucky again and smiled sweetly at him. “There’s a nice coffee place here in the mall if you want.”
“Sure.” He replied, “Lead the way.”
There was some kind of normalcy in the way they walked together, Y/n pushing the stroller gently and Bucky right beside her, as if they’d been doing this forever. Bucky smiled at the thought but quickly dismissed it.
She felt Y/n’s eyes on him and he turned his head to the side to look back at her.
She only smiled at him.

Sleepy Heads
A series of random Bucky Drabbles that I can't let go but don't have the brain to make the whole complete plot of.
Tumblr media
Summary: That time when the reader accidentally fell asleep on a stranger’s shoulder in the subway ride home. The stranger in question, however, is none other than the former Winter Soldier, Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes.
Words: 1.4k++
Pairing: tfatws!bucky x female!reader
Warnings: none? just a really short fluffy moment with bucky.
Inspiration: Commuting home via train after long day of work makes me wish i had a shoulder to lean on while on the journey. And so, this idea was born from that thought.
Read my other works here: Masterlist
Tumblr media
Y/N’s gaze was empty, staring to the distance, seemingly being swallowed by the void within her headspace. She had another long day at work; like any other weekday, grinding through the endless lines of words for each of her client’s documents until her eyes blurred.
The platform was noisy, filled with the clamour of people, the distant roar of the approaching train, and the faint buzz of conversations. The lights above her head flicker occasionally, casting brief shadows that danced along the walls.
The subway ride home was her daily ritual, one she usually endured standing among the crowded commuters. When she saw the train coming her way, relief washed over her. “Finally, I can go home,” she thought.
The doors slid open, and she was immediately pushed by the crowd behind her. It was as if her feet were lifted in the air, her body was effortlessly being dragged into the train. Since it  was rush hour, the train car was packed. She had expected that but still, she couldn’t help but to let out a long sigh of exhaustion.
She slipped and weaved through the mass of bodies, knowing that it’ll be pointless. There’s no way she could get a seat now; she had to endure the 40 minute ride standing on the ache of her feet.
Her thoughts immediately stopped when she unexpectedly found an empty row of seats. Well, to be fair, there was one man sitting there, but regardless, it was empty enough for her to sit.
How fortunate she was.
A passing thought echoed in her head, questioning why it was empty, but she was too tired to think too deeply about it. The exhaustion from the long hours at work had dulled her curiosity, leaving her with just enough energy to be grateful for the peace and quiet. Too exhausted to question her luck, she sank into the seat, letting out a sigh of gratitude.
As she settled in, her mind couldn’t help but to dwell on the earlier question. Why does no one want to sit next to this man? She briefly considered the possibility that he might be a weird pervert or something. Thinking about it now made her slightly uncomfortable.
However, that discomfort didn’t last long as she overheard whispers around her, saying how brave she was to sit next to the Winter Soldier. Her eyes widened in realisation, and she discreetly glanced at him, noticing the telltale signs she had missed in her exhaustion: the gloved hands, the intense expression, the aura of danger that surrounded him.
She had heard of him. James Buchanan Barnes.
She studied about him in history class back when she was a school girl and saw him on the news in recent years. A member of the Howling Commandos. Steve Roger’s best friend. The Winter Soldier. The victim of Hydra’s atrocities.
Perhaps it was the fatigue numbing her instincts, or maybe it was the hint of vulnerability in his eyes that contradicted the ruthless image painted by the stories. Surprisingly, there was a burning sensation in her chest the more she heard the foul whispers around her. “These people really need to shut their mouths or…”  She didn’t finish the thought.
Honestly, she was too tired to care if the man next to her was the Winter Soldier or Captain America himself. She was simply grateful that he wasn’t some sort of creepy pervert.
Next to her sat a lone man, his posture tense and his gaze averted. James Buchanan Barnes, the Winter Soldier, was accustomed to people avoiding him, their fear and whispers a constant reminder of his past. Today was no different, until Y/N sat down next to him without a second thought.
There were very few people who willingly sat this close to him: Sam, Mr. Nakajima, and perhaps his therapist. Strangers who were aware of him would never sit near him willingly. So when he saw her making a beeline towards him, he thought, “No way…”
Now, he couldn’t help but be aware of her presence.
Bucky straightened, expecting her to move away once she realised who he was. But she didn’t. She just sat there, her head lolling slightly as she fought to stay awake.
Bucky stole glances at her, noting the dark circles under her eyes and the way she seemed to radiate exhaustion . He noticed how her weary seemed to mirror his own, although for completely different reasons; hers from long hours of work, his from long hours of sleepless nights.
Despite her weariness, there was a quiet beauty about her that captivated him.
His eyes widened in realisation that he’d been staring at her. He noticed the concerned looks of the people around them as they caught him, their thoughts clear on their faces.
He chastised himself for staring. “Stop it, Bucky. You’re being a creep.” But he couldn’t help it. When her head finally drooped and she fell asleep, he felt a pang of concern.
“Where’s her stop?”
“What if she misses it?”
“What if someone tries to take advantage of her while she’s sleeping?”
As the train jolted, her head swayed dangerously close to the pole beside her. Instinctively, Bucky’s metal arm shot out, catching her head before it hit. She didn’t stir, her breathing steady and soft; he could feel how close her body was to his own.
Bucky froze, his body tensing as he tried to process the situation. His eyes widened; he didn’t know why but he felt his heart racing in his chest.
Before he could fully comprehend what was happening, her head lolled to the opposite side, landing gently on his shoulder. He felt a surge of panic, his breath hitching, but then she snuggled closer, her hands roamed along his right hand until her arms wrapped around his like he was a pillow.
Bucky’s heart continued to race, violently.
He felt a blush creeping up his neck, his eyes widening in surprise. His fists balled up into tight, clenched knots as he felt the softness of her breasts gently squishing his biceps in between them. “Oh god, what do I do now?” he panicked.
But time passed, feeling her steady heartbeat and the warmth of her body pressed against him, he found himself relaxing.
He began to notice the faint scent of vanilla that clung to her, a soft contrast to the sterile, metallic smell he had grown used to. Her breathing, initially steady, became slower and deeper; a rhythmic sound that somehow soothed his frayed nerves. He could see the faint traces of paper cuts on her fingers, remnants of a long day at work.
Despite her obvious fatigue, there was a certain grace in the way she moved, a gentle determination that intrigued him. Her soft, steady breathing started to sync with his own, creating a strange sense of calm that he hadn't felt in a long time. He admired the delicate curve of her eyelashes, the way her lips parted slightly as she went deeper into slumber.
This simple act of trust, falling asleep next to him, a man feared by so many, stirred something deep within him. It was a small, fleeting moment of normalcy that he found himself cherishing against his better judgement.
He relaxed into the seat, allowing himself to savour the unexpected comfort of her presence and touch. He decided to let her sleep. As the time passed, the crowd around them began to lessen.
The previously hostile atmosphere of the train car softened, and the once frenetic energy of the rush hour turned into a more subdued, calming environment. The stares and whispers faded into the background as Bucky's attention became entirely focused on the woman resting beside him.
His own fatigue began to catch up with him, his eyes grew heavy, a rare sensation for him these days. And before he knew it, his cheek was resting gently against her head, and he was drifting off too. His plans and destination were long forgotten, overshadowed by the soothing presence of the woman clinging to his arm.
He didn't mind if they both missed their stop; the thought of walking her home crossed his mind. Maybe he could introduce himself properly, maybe ask her out on a date, and see if she wouldn’t mind spending more time with him.
The idea, though fleeting, brought a sense of warmth and contentment he hadn’t felt in years. When his consciousness drifted further into the dreamland, a soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips, his heart lighter than it had been in a long time.
And in the end, as the train continued its journey, people left the sleepy heads in their peaceful slumber, content in the rare moment of tranquility they had found together. End.

Take your time
Bucky Barnes x Reader
Summary : This is based on the Song “Take your time” by Sam Hunt. Was listening to the song and randomly got the inspiration to write a Bucky Barnes fic about it. I wrote and published it in one sitting.
Words : 4.5K
Warnings : none except some heavy make-out session and allusion to smut.
A/N : Back to writing after ages, it feels kind of weird to be honest :’) Let me know what you think of this piece. I am thinking to write a second part to it, to continue with the storyline of the song as well. Let me know if you’d be interested to read more of this and/or if you wish to be tagged in a second part.
Feedback is greatly appreciated! xx
The music in the dimly lit bar was loud enough to stop you hearing the next person next to you speak, however she didn't miss the almost timid "You alright?" that left the lips of the handsome stranger sitting in the bar stool next to where she was standing, waiting for the bartender to give her the drinks she ordered.
She eyed the man for a second, trying to take in his features as quickly as she could, but didn't reply. She could only give him a tight lipped smile and then three bottles of beers were left in front of her. She mumbled a thanks to the guy behind the bar and grabbed them and without another word left to go sit in the table on the other end of the bar, where two other women were waiting for her.
Bucky saw her intently, tranced in her every move. He saw her handing the beers to her friends and then without missing a beat, they clicked the bottles together and downed the foamy liquid. They all shared a laugh as they spoke and she looked so carefree and happy at that moment.
He had been there for more than an hour, sitting at the end of the bar alone, mostly eyeing the alcohol in the glass, twirling the gold brown liquid of the whiskey. He knew he couldn't get drunk, but the taste of alcohol in his mouth gave him some sort of weird relief, almost satisfying.
Also the bar was a nice place to not be alone with his thoughts. At least here he could occupy his mind while watching other people drink and dance and talk loudly and laugh vividly.
For him, it was some kind of therapy of a sort. And also his therapist insisted he went out more, according to her it would be good for him to socialise with other people other than Sam or the S.H.I.E.L.D agents he trained daily.
It had worked so far, despite him having chosen the most isolated end of the bar, where almost nobody else would sit, just the presence of other people in their normalcy, was somewhat a good influence for him.
He would mostly sit back and listen to the music that was playing and watch the people talking and dancing and laughing, none of them holding his attention for too long.
Tonight however, he couldn't stop staring at a certain someone who was so casually sitting on a table across the bar from him, drinking and talking and laughing with her friends. He couldn't stop wishing he was there on that table with her, just enjoying her presence.
From where he was sitting he had no way of hearing what they were saying, but it was sure that whatever she was saying would be enough to have and hold his undivided attention the entire night. He was lost on his thoughts of her when he finally came back to his senses and focused his eyes back on the table she was, only to find her gone.
He panicked for a second, scanning the place quickly, only to find her coming back to the bar.
He thought maybe she noticed him staring and was coming to him to give him a piece of her mind, however she stopped halfway to meet some other people. It seemed she knew almost everyone in there, most of them greeting her, getting up to catch up and meet with her and she talked to all of them, gracing them with her bright smile and one armed hugs.
She was getting closer to the bar when another girl stopped her right in front of Bucky. "Y/n is that you?" She was surprised to see her in the bar. "It's been forever since the last time I saw you here. We have all missed you."
Bucky finally learned her name. 'Fitting' he thought to himself, 'she really looks like a Y/n'. He found himself smiling to the thought and quickly wiped the smile from his face, returning his attention to the half empty glass in front of him. He could listen to their conversation, they seemed to be catching up. Her voice was as sweet as her figure, even though she had to be a little loud because of the music.
"Don, one last round for the ladies and I will have just a water please." He heard her voice before he could see her, and her smell intoxicated him, almost paralysing him in place. He kept his head low, looking his glass intently. As if that glass was speaking to him, spilling all its secrets in his throat.
She was waiting next to him for the drinks, once again, this time bouncing her leg slightly on the floor, on the same rhythm with the music.
She was fishing some cash from her purse, trying to pay for their drinks for the night, but the bartender beat her to it. "That's taken care of" was all he said with a smile.
"Don, you didn't have to pay for our drinks" she started protesting in earnest, but the guy behind the bar just smiled at her and pointed to Bucky sitting across from him.
"Oh, it wasn't me," he said, "I didn't do anything."
Only then Y/n turned to him, this time looking for a longer moment than before, as if studying his face and his intentions. Bucky felt her eyes pierce through his skull and he felt smaller than ever, however he kept the composure, dismissing her protest with a simple "It was nothing."
"No, I cannot accept this," she argued with him and tried to take the money out of her purse again. Bucky put his hand on hers gently to stop her.
"You can," he replied, "It's not a big deal."
She stopped in her tracks, her hand almost but not quite inside her purse, and his on top of hers.
She hadn't recognised him, Bucky could tell when people did. However, she was oblivious as to who he really was, more occupied with the fact that she wasn't going to allow this stranger to pay for her drinks.
"Why did you do it?" She asked him in a weird tone, the underlying question in fact was "Do you want something in return?"
Bucky just shook his head and smiled at her, it felt weird; he just knew her for a couple of hours and he found himself smiling more than he had in a week, hell, maybe even a month.
Before Bucky could reply, he saw her friend making her way to the bar where they were.
"Your friend is coming to save you from the creepy stranger on the bar." He replied simply, a glint in his eye as he spoke the words.
She was confused for a moment and then her friend was right next to her "Y/n, what took you so long?" She asked kind of annoyed, eyeing Bucky suspiciously.
She grabbed the beers from the bar and Y/n took her water as well without another word. She was kind of left speechless by the encounter with the handsome stranger on the bar.
She thought how he referred to himself as creepy, but truth be told she thought he was everything but creepy. Kind of broody and mysterious, what with the hat covering his eyes, but from the close distance she was standing, she had the chance to get a good look at his face, and man it didn't seem half as bad.
He had a stubble covering his strong jaw and short hair covered by the hat. For as much as she could see, he was very attractive.
"You're welcome!" He called behind her as she was going back to her table, but she didn't miss it and turned around with a strange smile, raising her water bottle a little in the air and mouthing 'thank you'.
He smiled at that and turned around on his seat, returning his attention to the bar in front of him.
He didn't want to look as a creep, stalking her every movement.
Despite the urge to look back, he didn't anymore. He stayed for a few more minutes sitting in the bar, downing the rest of his drink and paid for it before getting up of the seat. When he turned around, he was disappointed to see she was not there anymore, her friends either. He made his way to the exit in short but quick steps. It was almost midnight and the air outside was chilly, however it was a welcomed breeze in comparison to the alcohol and sweat filled air inside the bar.
Bucky was walking to his motorcycle that he had parked a few feet away from the bar, when he finally noticed her, standing alone in the corner, smoking a cigarette almost lazily. He noticed she was alone  and the smiling face from inside the bar was gone, having left behind a sour, almost pained  expression in her features. Her eyebrows were pinched together, focusing solely on the cigarette between her fingers. She was watching the smoke intensely, as if it was speaking to her.
Bucky thought twice before making his way to her. He didn't want to scare her, make her think he was after her like some kind of stalker or serial killer, especially now that she was alone, so while still being fairly away from her, he called her name, as if to warn her he was going near.
"Hey, Y/n" he spoke not very loud, afraid he was going to startle her away. "You alright?" He asked the same first question he asked her at the bar.
She picked up her head and averted her eyes from the cigarette, trying to make out his features in the middle of the night. The road was not very well lit, making it difficult for her to recognise him right away, however as he got closer, she finally saw the familiar hat from the bar. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
As he got closer and closer, he stopped right next to her. Only now that he was standing she could finally see how tall he was, with his broad shoulders and long legs. He was pretty much hovering above her and she would be scared shitless if it wasn't for his timid look as he stood there, as if waiting for her to speak.
"Hey." She said simply before sucking on the cigarette's butt one last time and drawing in all the smoke, before letting it slip from her fingers and crush it with her shoe.
"What are you doing here? Where are your friends?" He asked and he sounded almost worried for her. "Why are you alone?"
Y/n found it funny how this stranger was getting worried over lil ol' her. A smile played on her lips, the crease between her eyebrows now gone.
"Just didn't want to go home yet" she replied simply. "The girls already left."
Bucky nodded in understanding but didn't know what to say anymore. He was just looking at her, as if trying to understand what was going on in her mind at that moment. She got a step closer to him and instinctively he moved a step back, not knowing how to react. Upon seeing his reaction, she hesitated for a short moment and stopped moving, seemingly thinking about her next action. He saw a flicker in her eyes, then she closed the distance between them, lips crashing to his in a rush, almost as if she would have waited a second longer, then she wouldn't have done it.
Despite being shorter than him, she snaked her arms around his neck, trying to bring him down to her, her hands fumbling at the back of his head, removing his hat in the process.
He quickly reciprocated the kiss, lips almost as hungry as hers, but after a couple of seconds, she felt the mood shift instantly. He stopped kissing her and gently pushed her away, quickly apologising. "I'm sorry, I can't do it." He murmured against her.
If she was disappointed, she didn't say. In a haze to fill her lungs with air, she simply asked "Are you drunk?"
He shook his head, "No, but I think you are."
"I'm not, I promise." She didn't know why she felt the need to add the second part, but it seemed that he hesitated because he didn't want to take advantage of drunk women. How very noble of him!
She wasn't drunk on alcohol, that was true, however the taste of his lips had left her intoxicated and she desperately wanted more. No matter, she wasn't going to beg him to kiss her again.
His hat had fallen on the ground and he bent to grab it, removing the dust away with his hand. When he straightened his body again, he was once again face to face with her, and only then she could finally see his eyes. The momentum was suddenly gone as she was quickly reminded of who he was. She had finally recognised him. Bucky Barnes.
Her eyes shifted nervously, but not from the fear of who he was, mostly from the embarrassment.
She had kissed Bucky Barnes. The White Wolf.
And the worst part was that he had refused her advances. Yes, he had first kissed her back, but then he had pushed her away quickly. She wanted nothing more than for the ground to open right under her feet and swallow her entirely.
"I am so sorry!" She was quick to apologise and turned around to walk away from him. He moved right after her and stopped her.
"Hey, where are you going?"
"Leaving, yeah, walking away and wishing to disappear altogether." He could feel her laboured breath as she spoke each word, but he didn't allow her to leave.
"Listen, I-"
"No I am sorry," she interrupted him. "I shouldn't have done that. I don't know what came over me. I apologise mister Barn-"
Bucky understood that she had finally recognised him. He simply shook his head, unable to form any other words. Of course she was going to leave  now that she finally found out who he really was. Despite of years having passed and he was now an Avenger, he was clear of every wrong he had done while being trapped in Hydra's claws as the Winter Soldier, he knew a lot of people were scared of him, even disgusted by him. He understood the look in her eyes as regret. Of course she would regret kissing the fucking ex-Winter Soldier and now she wanted to get as far away from him as possible.
He recognised regret and shame and fear and...
He didn't know for sure, despite the fact that he was very good at reading people, his own head was spinning from the thousands of thoughts running through his head, however he had to give himself a chance.
As slow as he could, he closed the distance between them, his hand still holding her forearm, not allowing her to leave, not wanting to miss her closeness.
"Are you sorry you kissed me because it's me, or because it's me?" He asked shyly. He didn't know for sure, but he wanted to. He waited for her answer hopeful that it wouldn't disappoint him.
"You're Sergeant Barnes." She replied. "Bucky Barnes." Her words were calm and she spoke them with an easiness he thought impossible given the situation.
He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He was waiting for her to hit him with "You're the Winter Soldier. Get the fuck out of my face." but she said his name, Bucky, with such sweetness in her voice and he felt his heart skip a beat. Nobody had spoken his name like that, he thought, as if he put the stars in the sky.
"Doll, can I kiss you?" He asked, feeling himself grow more confident by the second and she simply nodded.
That was all the confirmation he needed to grab her by the waist and bring her closer to his body. His lips met hers once again, in a more gentler kiss than before, but just as passionate. Bucky felt electricity run down his spine as she grabbed the collar of his shirt, bringing him closer than possible.
They kissed for a while in the dimly lit road, until the need for air became too much. He still lingered close to her, his lips resting on her forehead.
"Do you want me to take you home, doll?" He asked after a while of staying there, breathing each other close. She only shook her head no. She didn't want to go home, her house and her bed would be cold and empty and she didn't want to feel that way.
Bucky pressed a chaste kiss to her lips and prompted her to follow him. "Come on then." Was all he said as they moved to his motorcycle.
He helped her up and the engine revved loudly in the night, not loud enough to disturb their peace though. She had snaked her arms around his torso and her chest was almost lying on his back. The chilly air hit her face but it wasn't enough to cool down her face that felt as if in flames.
She didn't know what she was doing or where he was taking her, truth be told, she didn't even care. As long as she was pressed to him, feeling the beat of his heart through the warm hoodie he was wearing, she was okay. She didn't think about the outside world, couldn't.
Time seemed to pass slowly as they were riding on his bike, she didn't know how long they had been riding, but she felt Bucky look back to her time after time to check on her.
Finally he slowed his bike down and he stopped, then helped her down before he got off the bike too. Y/n looked around, trying to make sense of her surroundings. She saw the house before her, a small one storey house and on the side of it, a well maintained garden with a small lawn.
"Where are we?" She finally asked, not that she was worried or anxious, but merely from curiosity.
"My place." He replied shortly and motioned for her to go inside, him beside her the entire time. She felt her breath hitch as she entered the living space, she was in the house of the Bucky Barnes. Before she lost her mind to her fangirl thoughts, she drew in a short breath and took in the place around her. Everything was fairly neat and clean, the space furnished simply and modestly.
"This is nice." She heard herself speaking, more like thinking out loud. Bucky smiled next to her and thanked her. She could sense his hesitation. Maybe he had regretted bringing her in his house.
"Do you want something to drink?" He asked and she refused politely.
Before she could get lost in her train of thoughts, she quickly turned to him and shyly asked if she could use the bathroom. He lead her to another space and she closed the door behind her.
The bathroom, just like the living room as simple and clean. A bathtub in the corner, the sink and a mirror next to it. She moved to the sink and let the water running. What was she doing? She was in Bucky Barnes’ house. What was she doing here?
She quickly freshened up herself and patted the water dry from her face and neck with a white hand towel hanging next to her. She saw the white towel get stained with the black of her mascara and cursed under her breath.
"Fuck, shit, fuck." she repeated in distress.
"Doll, you okay?" She heard him call her from behind the door. She liked how the word 'doll' rolled out of his lips, she liked the sound of it, liked how he addressed her as doll.
She opened the door and showed him the now dirty towel. "I am sorry, I ruined it." She was quick to apologise.
Bucky just smiled at her and took the towel from her hand. "It's okay honey, you can dirty all my towels, I wouldn't mind." The words had left his mouth before he could register their double meaning and for a moment he blushed, really blushed as he finally realised what he said.
She smiled and got up on her tiptoes, closing the distance between them and kissing him. Each kiss was more meaningful than the previous and she felt herself getting lost in that feeling.
He broke the kiss too soon for her liking, placing his hand on her cheek lightly. "I didn't bring you here to.." he hesitated for a second then added "We don't have to do anything."
She smiled and pecked his lips again. "I know." She mumbled against his lips and resumed the kiss again.
That was enough for Bucky to hoist her in his arms and secure her there, his arms and hands holding her legs, prompting her to stay next to him, not removing his lips from her for even a second. She felt her back touch the wall next to the bathroom door, the cold sensation welcoming to the fire she was feeling from his kisses.
He moved his mouth from her lips to her jawline and neck, leaving openmouthed kisses and Y/n heard herself moan at the feeling.
Those noises were enough to spur Bucky on more  and he sucked a spot on her neck which left her weak on the knees. She thought she was lucky Bucky was holding her firmly, otherwise her knees would have surely buckled underneath her.
"Do you wanna move this to the bedroom?" She thought she heard him speak against her neck. She was unsure if he really said those words or if it was just her imagination, however another moan leaving her lips was enough answer for him to move away from the wall, with her still in his arms.
She felt him gently placing her on his bed, a king sized bed with a firm mattress, too firm for Y/n's liking but not uncomfortable. He resumed his kisses along her neck and collarbone, making her whine and writhe underneath him.
Bucky was hungry with his mouth and his hands,  feeling her body under his lips and fingers as much as he could. And the reaction he was getting from Y/n was making him drunk in passion.
For a quick second, he felt Y/n trying to move from under him and he thought she had just changed her mind, however he was surprised when she moved from underneath him and turned them both, so now she would be on top of him.
She kissed him fervently and he was sure to explode if he wasn't inside her in the next moments, but just as he thought this couldn't get any better, she slowed down, her kisses dying in her lips and she just looked in his eyes with so much emotion he felt he was going to cry.
"You are so beautiful." She said it so sweetly then went back to kissing him.
Bucky felt himself lighter than ever and somehow, after seeing her looking at him with so much adoration, he didn't doubt her words not one bit.
They got lost in each other, a mess of bodies and limbs and they continued kissing and exploring each other's bodies until dawn.
Y/n had fallen asleep before him, Bucky following close behind, content and sated to no limit.
She woke up in the morning, feeling calmer and happier than she had in a long time.
Bucky was still asleep next to her, and she could finally make out his features in daylight. Of course she had seen him before on the news on TV, but those cameras did no justice to his beauty.
She wanted to reach out her hand and stroke his cheek but she didn’t dare touch him as she didn’t want to wake him up. She was happy to simply watch him sleep peacefully.
She wasn’t sure how much time had passed and she didn’t bother to look at the time on her phone, content to continue watching him some more, but the ringtone of her phone moved her from her trance. She saw Bucky shuffle in his sleep and he peeled one eye open as she moved to answer the phone.
“Yeah, no. I didn’t go home last night.” He heard her say to whoever was on the other side of the phone. “Okay,” she continued, “I’ll be right there.”
Bucky groaned in frustration at her last words, he didn’t want her to leave. Without having ended the phone call yet she got up from the bed and started searching for her clothes. Bucky felt the bed get cold instantly when she left and whined inwardly in displeasure.
“Okay, bye.” Y/n said to the person on the phone and hung up. He saw her type quickly on her phone before placing it on the nightstand again. Then she got dressed and turned to Bucky only after having put on everything, looking apologetic.
“Good morning,” she said almost timidly and Bucky found it kind of funny how she was still shy around him after last night. “I have to go.” She then added.
Bucky pinched his eyebrows together but didn’t say anything to stop her. Instead he moved to get up from the bed as well. “I’ll get dressed and take you wherever you need to be.”
“It’s okay, I already called a cab.”
Bucky wanted to argue with her but didn’t want to impose too much. Maybe she wanted to get away from him. Maybe for her it was just a one night stand and now she wanted nothing more to do with him. He sat back on the bed and watched her put her shoes on, the last item before she had everything on and would have to go.
“Will I ever see you again?” He couldn’t help but ask her, hopeless and hopeful at the same time.
She moved around the bed to go close to him and handed him his phone. “Can I?”
He quickly unlocked his phone and gave it back to her. He saw her type some digits on the screen and called the number. A second later her phone rang again and she ended the call in Bucky’s phone.
“That’s me.” She said and right on that moment she heard the honking of a car right outside the house on the street. It was the taxi. “I have to go now.” She placed a quick his on his cheek and left quickly.
Bucky saw her form retreating and heard her steps receding, until he heard the front door open and then close with a quiet slam. Only then he allowed himself to lay down again on his bed, almost diagonally and sighing loudly.
He was in deep.

Heart to love (chapter 7)
You’d expected Bucky to be all over you as soon as the bedroom door closed behind you but the opposite was true.
As soon as you were in the privacy of the bedroom a sudden calmness seemed to fall over you both.
You were here, you had all night, and it was finally going to happen, there was no need to rush.
The room was dark except for the light of the fireplace and the small bedside table lamps. Bucky’s smile was soft, his steps confident as he walked over to you, taking your hand in his and lifting it up to his lips to put a soft kiss on your skin. His lips warm and soft, and lingering, a promise of more to come.
You grabbed the bottom of his shirt and slowly lifted it over his head, followed by his t-shirt. He returned the favor and slowly unbuttoned your blouse. His fingers were trembling when he helped you out of it, putting a little smile on your face. When you were left in nothing but your bra Bucky couldn’t help but stare. And you did the same, letting your eyes roam over his perfectly toned chest and stomach.
Your hands moved to touch him, his skin both firm and soft under your fingers, Bucky closed his eyes and sighed at the contact. Your hand moved to his shoulder and arm, letting your fingers trace over the scar tissue there before you leaned in and put soft kisses all over his shoulder, making Bucky sigh even more.
His hands took hold of your waist and he gently pulled you closer, one hand moving up to your neck and then, finally, his lips were on yours.
You kissed him back and pushed him towards the bed, Bucky sat down at the edge and moved you with him, pulling you down to straddle his lap.
His arms wrapped around you, hugging you close while his one hand swiftly unclipped your bra.
You took it off and leaned back, letting him look at you and the hungry look you found in his eyes was enough to set you on fire.
Bucky was licking his lips while his hands moved up, over your stomach to softly cup both breasts, using his thumbs to make your nipples peak.
Your back arched and you whimpered softly, instinctively rolling your hips against his and you felt his erection hard against you.
Bucky moved his hands to your back to hold you in place while he slowly started kissing your neck, then working his way down to your collar bone and even lower until his mouth found your nipple. He circled it with his tongue before putting his lips around it and sucking slowly.
“Bucky,” you moaned softly and your hips started moving again. There were still way too many layers of clothing between you two and you were getting impatient now.
Bucky spent some more time kissing your breast while his fingers caressed your lower back.
Every touch made you crave him more.
Bucky must have sensed your impatience because his one hand moved to the front of your jeans to unzip it.
“Take it off,” he whispered into your ear.
He didn’t need to ask you twice, you quickly stepped back and out of your jeans. You were ready to lose your panties too but Bucky stopped you and pulled you back onto his lap.
You let out a little disappointed whine but Bucky just smirked sweetly,” One layer at a time, baby, I wanna tease you a little more first.”
Your eyes closed when his lips found your neck again. You moved your hands over his back and into his hair while you leaned back, giving him better access to your neck and Bucky took it, licking your skin and giving soft little love bites.
You moaned his name and in response he bucked his hips up against yours, giving you some delicious friction and making you moan more. Bucky’s lips found yours and he kissed you softly but deeply. You clung to him, never wanting him to stop but also wanting him to give you more.
Bucky smiled into the kiss when he felt how you kept rolling your hips against him, needy and desperate.
“You want more, sweetheart?” he teased.
“Yes,” you breathed, moving yourself over his erection. Your panties were soaked and you were pretty sure you were leaving a stain on his jeans.
“You wanna cum like this?” Bucky purred into your ear.
“No…I want you inside me,” you whispered.
“Not just yet, doll, I wanna take my sweet time with you.”
His words were both enticing and frustrating you, the idea of Bucky taking his time and enjoying every little touch and kiss you both shared was wonderful but you also just wanted him to fuck you already. You were desperate for that orgasm and Bucky sensed it.
His hands moved to cup your ass and he guided you, helping you drag yourself up and down his cock, giving you the exact friction you craved so badly.
“B-ucky,” your voice was both a moan and a plea and you clung to his neck.
“That’s it,” he encouraged you,” Take what you need from me, baby, use me.”
You were so close and Bucky’s words were fuel on the fire.
“Please,” you begged,” oh god…so close…”
You were moving against him fast and desperate now and you could see Bucky struggling to keep control. He held you in his arms while your orgasm washed over you.
He let you ride it out, his cock now rock hard beneath you, the relief you felt was only temporary, you already felt the need to have him deep inside you.
When you moved back a little Bucky noticed the huge wet spot you left on his jeans.
“Fuck, baby,” his voice sounded wrecked when he saw the evidence of your lust for him.
“I’m gonna need you to take those off, right now,” you pointed out and started unbuttoning his jeans. Bucky was more than eager to help and his jeans ended up on the floor.
You pushed him back down on the bed, unable to take your eyes off his boxers and the huge hard on he was clearly sporting underneath that thin layer of fabric.
“Lay back,” you told him.
Bucky didn’t say a word but obliged, moving himself further up on the bed and laying down on his back. His eyes never left yours as you crawled over him.
He was so fucking beautiful, you wanted to kiss every inch of him but you started with his chest.
Bucky sighed softly at your touch and leaned back into the pillow.
When you’d taken enough time with his chest you moved down to his stomach, kissing his abs and then licking your way down his happy trail.
Bucky’s soft sighing had turned into soft moaning and when you slowly pulled down his boxers his breath hitched.
You’d never been a fan of sucking dick, but seeing Bucky so hard, so turned on, hearing how his breathing changed when you gave that first lick, you couldn’t help but want to take him into your mouth and ruin him.
You took your time teasing him at first, licking him from top to base and then just curling your tongue around his tip. Bucky was a gasping mess already and his fingers softly caressed your hair.
“Fuck,” he breathed,” yes…please…oh god, baby, please.”
Hearing him beg only made you want it more and you wrapped your hand around his base to jerk him slowly while you wrapped your lips around him and took him in. Slowly at first but a little deeper every time.
Bucky’s heavy moans were making you wet again and you had to fight the urge to touch yourself while you worked around him.
It didn’t last long before Bucky had to pull you off and before you knew it he had switched positions, putting you down on your back with him on top of you.
He didn’t waste anymore time and pulled our panties down your legs before moving back up to kiss your lips, his cock hard and leaking against your inner thigh.
“I want you,” you moaned into the kiss,” want you so bad, Bucky,”
“Just a little while longer, sweetheart,” he pulled your bottom lip between his teeth and looked into your eyes,” I need to return a little favor first.”
He moved to kiss your neck again while his hand moved down lower to caress your breasts. Then he lowered himself to kiss your breasts while his hand moved even lower between your legs.
You moaned loud when his fingers found your clit and start circling it slowly, at the same time moving his tongue over your nipple.
You were almost ready to cum on the spot but Bucky had other plans.
He kissed your stomach and then without any hesitation his tongue was on your clit.
Your hands reached for his head, caressing his hair.
One of your legs ended up over his shoulder while he licked across your folds, teasing your entrance and then going back up to pay some more attention to your most sensitive spot, putting you on edge quickly.
“Bucky,” you begged,” please…I’m gonna…I need you inside me…I’m so close…stop…please”
He stopped what he was doing for only a few seconds to look up into your eyes,” You’re gonna cum for me first, then I’m gonna fuck you, do you understand?”
All you managed was a quick nod of your head and then his mouth was back on you and you were done for.
“Oh god, fuck,” you bit your lip to keep from screaming when he sucked your clit and sent you into your second orgasm,” Don’t stop…don’t stop…don’t stop.”
Your head fell back into the pillow while your back arched off the bed and your fingers dug into Bucky’s scalp, this second orgasm so much stronger than the first one, and still you were hungry for more.
Bucky moved back up, nestling himself back in that place between your legs, his cock still hard and now nudging against your entrance while his lips found yours in a soft kiss. You licked into his mouth, tasting yourself on his tongue. You smiled and Bucky followed your lead, leaning his forehead against yours and letting your eyes meet.
“Hey,” he whispered sweetly.
“Hey, you,” you smiled,” You’re such a fucking tease.”
Bucky laughed,” Any complaints?”
“None,” you quickly answered and kissed him again, slower and deeper this time and Bucky gave as good as you did. You spent some time just making out and letting your hands feel every inch of the other’s body you could reach.
Then Bucky moved his hips and you felt the tip of his cock nudging your entrance again.
“Wanna fuck you so bad,” he then whispered, moving his hips again, teasing you some more and this time letting his tip push in a little deeper.
You moaned his name and wrapped your legs around him, opening up your body to him. You cupped his face and looked deep into his eyes,” If I don’t have you inside me soon I’m going to explode, James.”
It was all he needed to hear and he pushed in, slowly but without stopping until you were filled up to the hilt. You both laid still for a few moments, just staring into each other’s eyes while you got used to having him inside you.
Then Bucky’s eyes closed in a heavy sigh, his breath hot against your skin.
You’d had sex before but this was something entirely different, there were no words to express how it felt having Bucky inside you. As if a piece of you had been missing all your life and now you  found it again and you were complete.
Your arms tightened around him and you hugged him close, fighting the surge of emotions bottling up in your chest.
“I love you.”
For a moment you panicked, thinking you’d actually said it out loud instead of thinking it but then you realized you hadn’t spoken a single word. It was Bucky’s voice in your ear and he repeated it again, softly but firmly,” I love you, Y/N.”
“I love you too,” you breathed and clung to him even harder, burying your face into his neck.
Bucky hugged you back with the same desperation and then, slowly, he started moving his hips.
You whimpered and he pulled back to look into your eyes,” Is this okay? Am I hurting you?”
“No, no, you’re not hurting me,” you looked back at him and noticed his eyes were teary, just like yours,” You could never hurt me.”
Bucky kissed you and then very carefully moved his hips again, slowly at first and then a little faster. The moan from your lips didn’t leave any room for doubt this time.
“More,” you begged quietly.
Bucky followed your request, rolling his hips and then pushing back in all the way.
“Fuck yes,” you encouraged him.
After a few more thrusts you could feel Bucky relax and give into his own need and he started fucking you slowly.
“You feel so fucking good,” he moaned against your skin while picking up the pace,” So fucking tight and wet for me, fuck, baby.”
You could feel the heat coiling inside your belly again, another orgasm building and you knew this one was going to feel even better than the last.
Bucky was still taking his time, thrusting deep, the weight of him on top of you holding you down on the mattress.
“Harder,” you pleaded,” Fuck me harder, Bucky.”
He didn’t need any more encouragement, he snaked an arm underneath you to lift you up and trap you between him and the bed head, giving him some more leverage.
“Hold onto me,” he breathed.
You did as he asked and wrapped your arms firmly around his neck. Bucky used one hand to spread your legs even further and the other to push down onto the bed head. The changed angle when he fucked into you this time was enough to make you scream.
He started thrusting harder, the bed squeeking under the weight of both of you. Your nails sank into his skin, making him hiss. He continued thrusting into you, harder and less controlled with every snap of his hips.
“Are you close, doll?” he moaned.
“Yeah,” you reciprocated with a moan of your own.
Bucky moved one hand in between your legs and when he found your clit he pushed you over the edge. Your walls started contracting around him, pulling him right with you.
“Cum with me,” he whimpered into your mouth,” Ahh…fuck…cum with me, baby.”
You’d been right, the third orgasm was the best one because you shared it with Bucky.
You were both still clinging to each other long after the climax was over, not ready to let the moment be gone yet. Finally Bucky pulled out but he still kept you in his arms and pulled the blankets over both of you, you both fell asleep shortly after.
***
When you woke up the next morning the world was different, and it wasn’t just because of the new year. It was because of the man lying next to you, staring at you with the softest most stupid grin on his face.
“Morning, princess,” he smiled.
“Hi,” you leaned onto your elbow and stared right back at him,”How did you sleep?”
“Like a baby, and you?”
“Like someone fucked my brains out last night,” you teased, making him laugh.
He bit his lip,”I hope we didn’t wake up your family.”
“We probably did, but that’s okay, they can take it. Besides, I deserved it,” you smiled.
Bucky wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you closer, searching your lips with his to kiss you deeply. You sighed into the kiss and hugged him back.
“So, are you ready to go back home?” he then asked.
You leaned back to look into his eyes and for a moment the insecurity set in and Bucky noticed.
“Hey, what’s wrong?”
“What happens now?” you asked carefully.
“Well, I’m guessing we have breakfast with your family and then we make our way back to the city.”
You nodded,” I meant…what happens when we get back to the city?”
“Well, I thought…maybe I could show you my apartment, we order some take out and then…we could celebrate the rest of new year’s day in bed. I mean…if you have no other plans?”
This time Bucky was the one feeling insecure as he awaited your answer, but your smile told him everything he needed to know.
It was a whole new world.
Bucky Barnes was no longer an asshole, he was the man you loved now. And he loved you just the same if not more. To think that without Steve you both would have spent this Christmas on your own and depressed…
“Maybe we should make one more pit stop first though,” you suggested.
”Ahh yes, I think we owe someone a very big new year’s gift,” Bucky grinned.
“And a kick to the groin,” you added, making Bucky laugh again.
You couldn’t help but pull him closer into another kiss.
“I love you,” Bucky breathed against your lips,”So fucking much.”
You cupped his face and let yourself drown into his beautiful blue eyes,“I love you too, Bucky Barnes.”
