HOW TO KEEP YOURSELF SAFE DURING THE 4CHAN RAID

Simply, I’m sick of all the crap 4Chan is putting the Tumblr commmunity through right now, and I think everyone else is as well.

They add rape, gore and porn images to the most common tags, because they think triggering people and causing them to inflict harm upon themselves is entertaining. That’s right guys, hilarious.

They’re planning to hack accounts on top of that.

Thankfully, many of these issues can be remedied if we can work together.

1. CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD.

This should speak for itself. With the account hacking and everything, make sure you change your password quickly for obvious reasons. You should tell your followers also that if porn, gore or whatever else starts getting posted, it isn’t your doing.

2. THE NEXT 4CHAN RAID IS SET TO BE THE 20TH OF JULY.

On this day, the 4chan members have planned to unleash their tsunami of shock images onto the trending tags. Thankfully, this can be solved if we work together. Make sure you clear those tags of 4chan’s doing by posting the stuff that you SHOULD expect to find there.

3. STAY AWAY FROM TAG SEARCHING.

Be cautious. You don’t know what to expect, and if any of it triggers you, it won’t be pretty.

4. IF YOU HAVE A HISTORY OF SUICIDAL ATTEMPTS, THOUGHTS ETC, STAY AWAY FROM THE SITE.

This is simply for your own personal safety. Even if you follow step 3, there’s a chance a blog you follow will be hacked and you will see shock and trigger images pasted all over your dashboard. No one on Tumblr wants to see that happen, and they especially don’t want you getting hurt.

5. TURN OFF ANON ASKS AND ALL FORMS OF SUBMISSIONS.

Shock images, viruses and whatever the hell else have been reported to have been sent through asks and submissions. If you see something suspicious, ignore, block and report immediately, don’t respond to it in any way. Turn off anon asks and submissions to make sure it doesn’t wind up in your inbox.

6. DO NOT PROVOKE 4CHAN USERS IN ANY WAY.

THIS WILL ONLY MAKE THE 4CHAN VS TUMBLR WAR EVEN WORSE.

7. DON’T POST ANY SELFIES WHATSOEVER.

You wanna know what 4Chan are doing with them? They are editing them onto pornography, even if the person in the selfie is underage. THIS IS ILLEGAL, IF YOU SEE IT, REPORT IT TO THE AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY.

8. BE WARY OF ANY LINKS.

4Chan is also planning to replace the links to suicide hotlines with links to images of committing suicide, which is the opposite of what a hotline masterpost is supposed to do. Some links have also been edited to send out a virus. Stay away from links altogether if you want to be totally safe.

9. SIGNAL BOOST THIS. A LOT.

THE LAST THING WE NEED IS TO SEE ANYONE BEING HURT BY 4CHAN’S ACTIONS. SIGNAL BOOST THIS, SHARE THIS AND REBLOG THIS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. IT NEEDS TO BE KNOWN AND COULD SAVE A LIFE.

Not very long ago, this happened. Well, I was the one who sent that ask, and I’m proud to report that I’ve finally finished what I promised I would do.

For those of you who aren’t that up-to-date on everything going on in the Undertale community, this image is inspired by this.

I stole borrowed all the art in this image from @ask-jade-winglet because the whole point of this was “adding somewhat edgy effects to the picture of Winter holding a scythe.”

Since this AU would be based off of Fallen Stars, which is (to grossly oversimplify) Undertale but in space and everyone’s dark and edgy, presumably this would feature the Wings of Fire cast in a similar situation. I didn’t really give a lot of thought to roles, other than Winter as Sans (though I quite like the idea of Tsunami as Asgore), but presumably everyone else I put in the image would be in other major roles (and probably also dead right now because this is for the genocide run, but let’s not think about that). I might not be able to draw, but I can make sprites, so maybe I’ll do some Undertale-style sprites for this later after I figure out all the roles.

Also, because this post wasn’t long enough already, here’s links to my ideas for what I thought Winter’s sans. and Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans replacements could sound like in this AU. (Personally, I’d call them “Icy Greeting” and “An Anachronistically Short Song That Will Probably Play When Winter Has A Meltdown,” but that’s just me.)

Tales of the A.D.O.B.E. update

I finished all of the talk sprites for Joe Draw (the Papyrus replacement). As proof, here’s me goofing off with them:

(Also, yes, Joe talks in inverted caps. There is a complicated reason behind this, but ultimately it just boils down to me thinking it was funny.)

Having an eldritch abomination for a roommate is fun.

I tried to make Joe’s sprites feel kinda off and occasionally fall into the uncanny valley, and I think I did alright. I also finished the sprites I did for MatPat, but I couldn’t figure out how to work them into this. Oh, well.

I’ve figured out pretty much all the roles now, so now I just need to do all the sprites. Some of the previously unrevealed roles include: MatPat as Chara, Mangle as Asriel, Michael Afton as Asgore, Phone Guy as Napstablook, and many more! I think what I’ll do is have a post revealing all the major characters and a separate post for the minor characters. I’ll try to get those out in a week or two.

No, I didn’t forget about Tales of the A.D.O.B.E. In fact, I’ve actually been doing a decent amount of work for it off-camera. To prove it, here’s me goofing around with the talksprites I made for Outdesign.

No, they don’t. I actually had better sprites, but they didn’t look bad enough, so I had to start over. After all, if my spritework looked half-decent, then you’d have actual expectations of me and I’d have to work harder.

(Oh, yeah- I’m considering setting up a Tales of the A.D.O.B.E. Discord server, too, but I’m not going to do that until I’ve figured out all the character roles.)

I can post music here, too, right? As should be obvious to anyone who's been reading TMTC, Goblin Guard is a fan of OFF, so I decided to mash together the TMTC track "Died" with "Stay In Your Coma" and "Not Safe" and see what happened. The result was this, which I guess could work for TMTC + Offtale or something like that. God, I need to redraw that image.

I accidentally made another AU.

Okay, so, I was scrolling through some of the older posts on @adobe-outdesign and saw a post where an anon mentioned that they thought there should be an AU where Outdesign was Sans and MatPat was Chara (due to Outdesign not being very fond of MatPat for a variety of reasons).

And that’s when the voice in my head says, “Go on. Make an AU out of this. You know you want to.”

“No, no, I shouldn’t, I’ll get in trouble.” I responded (shut up, talking to voices in your head is perfectly natural and you do it, too).

“Do it, do it, do it-”

And so I let the voice in my head peer pressure me into making an AU I’m temporarily calling “Tales of the A.D.O.B.E.” until I can come up with something better.

The only roles I can think of so far are Outdesign as Sans, MatPat as Chara, Mangle as Asriel, Joe Draw as Papyrus, Joseph Drawing as Undyne, and Joey Drew as Alphys, I’ll probably come up with more roles immediately after I post this because that’s the kind of person I am.

Here’s the backstory:

Basically, MatPat was going to one of his theory conventions or whatever he does in his spare time and saw a mountain, and he thought “Yeah, I’ll just take a quick hike up and down this mountain. Won’t have any harm.”

Then he falls in a hole and inside the mountain, which is populated by a variety of colorful characters. Mangle finds him (he believes that they’re possessed by a dog and continues to insist this throughout his time underground despite all of the evidence to the contrary) and takes him back to whoever the king is (maybe Michael Afton, I dunno). MatPat quickly ascends to the role of Royal Scientist, only to be fired as soon as everyone realizes he has no idea what he’s doing. (Seriously, the guy thinks that Mangle is possessed by a dog, he’s not fit to be in charge of all of the kingdom’s scientific endeavors.) Angered by this, MatPat decides he wants to go home and uses a bunch of weird reasoning to figure out that, if he throws Mangle at the barrier at the speed of sound, then he’ll be able to tear a hole in the barrier and finally go to his theory convention thing.

There’s just one problem: all his calculations were based around Mangle being possessed by a dog. But they’re not.

Result: both of them die, Mangle’s soul/CPU/whatever possesses a dog (because irony) and MatPat will eventually become the narrator for whoever the protagonist is.

On to Outdesign, who is the only one I actually drew:

I’m not that happy with the colors, though, so the design’s subject to change.

Outdesign used to be the Royal Scientist, but resigned and passed the job onto Joey Drew after a few years to pursue more mentally taxing tasks, such as theorizing about video games. Joe Draw (check here for more information on him) is their roommate/friend from university who’s probably also secretly an eldritch abomination, but at least he isn’t as ax-crazy as his clones/brothers/alternate selves Joseph and Joey.

(There’s also Josaphat Drawn, but nobody dares speak of Josaphat Drawn.)

Anyway, Joe and Outdesign spend most of their time, respectively, combining ink and remnant to see what will happen and theorizing about video games, but at Joseph’s insistence they also have to go out on patrol occasionally.

I don’t really have anything else to say about this AU, I’ll make another post once I’ve come up with more stuff.

No, this isn’t a joke. This is an AU now, and nothing short of Outdesign descending into my askbox and telling me “Actually, I don’t want an Undertale AU where I’m Sans, can you please not” will make me stop.
