making a comeback??? hate to break it to ya but it never really left.
Since the r-slur is making a comeback (you know, the word that starts with R, has six letters, and ends in D), I'm gonna make a little PSA:
Yes, it's an ableist slur.
Terms like "asshat," "head-up-ass," "up their own ass," and "high on their own farts" exist. There's also words like crap, dogshit, half-assed, assclown, and chucklefuck. And on the less vulgar side, there are terms like ridiculous, nonsense, train wreck, pointless, insipid, self-absorbed, pretentious, annoying, boring, contemptible, vile, and disgusting.
Substituting words like restarted, poptarted, brain damaged, smoothbrain, etc. is still ableist, because either 1. you obviously still mean the r-word, or 2. you're still using disability as an insult.

hey maybe don't tell queer religious folks to "give up religion" whenever they discuss their experiences with queerphobia within religious spaces? it's up to them to decide if they want to leave religion entirely. and telling them to "give up religion" might even just make it worse since it *kinda* reaffirms the idea that being religious and queer aint compatible which is not true??? thanks :)

Cops are usually only ever brought to enforce violence and never protect anyone, I think the excuse of "fighting antisemitism on campus" is instantly disproven with the massive cop presence because yeah right you'd "waste" state resources on protecting anyone from anything. Hordes of cops only mean you made people mad, not that they want to help anyone.

“the fiction we consume can have an impact on our views of the world and can cause tangible harm to living breathing people” and “depiction of something in fiction is not necessarily an endorsement thereof and exploration of harmful ideas and themes can be meaningful and important in storytelling" are two thoughts that can, and in fact, should coexist

I don't know who needs to hear this, but this whole "haters and hate comments give me and my account engagement" mindset isn't a good one at all. Sure, the hate comments and hate asks don't bother you as much, but they might still make so many other people, including your mutuals, feel terrible. Use the goddamn block button. Delete the goddamn hate comments. And lastly, stop replying to the goddamn hate anons. Trust me,

If you want to survive on the internet, all you need to know is that you can't eat meat but you also can't be vegan neither, and if you post any video of you cooking or making food you're probably cooking it wrong so you probably shouldn't post it at all. Also you can't be attracted to the same-sex but you also can't be attracted to the opposite sex neither! And you have to be in a relationship, but relationships are cringe so just don't be in one! Oh wait that's so selfish never mind! And you have to have kids but if you have kids you're basically worthless now! And you can't have any hobbies but then you'll be boring too. You also can't be any religion other than Christian, but if you're Christian you're probably a garbage human! But if you're atheist you also need to find god! Also speaking of hobbies it'd be nice if you could incorporate some dark themes in your stories but if you do it's gross! And you also *have* to be sexy and hot, but even then you're probably worthless. And while we're at it you *have* to be happy and if you talk about any of your struggles or mental health issues you're an attention seeker and should just grow up! However we are ALSO entitled to know if you're struggling and your diagnosises so please tell us! We need to know! If you don't we'll assume you're lying! On second thought you're probably better off just not using the internet at all!

I miss when people actually genuinely appreciated music instead of whining about how "tiktok is ruining songs1111!!!!" or how "new music nowadays only talks about sex and drugs and alcohol1111!!!!". like damn that sucks have you maybe considered just not worrying about how other people discovered music or how music is changing or what other people's music tastes are?

Radqueer folks, please block me! While I cannot stop you from using my terms, I really do not want any of them (cringepunk especially) to be associated with your community, and I do not want you interacting with my posts! I don't want to be associated with radqueers, so please don't reblog or interact with my posts! Thank you!

hey just a small psa: stop telling autistic folks what symbols they should and shouldn't use.
if an autistic individual wants to use the infinity symbol, let them. if an autistic individual wants to reclaim the puzzle piece, let them. hell, if an autistic individual wants to use both, LET THEM. thank you, and happy autism acceptance month.

"but shadow! the puzzle piece is associated with autism speaks and has an ableist meaning!" You're right, the puzzle piece is heavily associated with Autism Speaks, and yes, they should absolutely get fucked! But here's the thing, they don't *own* the symbol. Hell, Autism Speaks wasn't even the one who created the symbol. The actual creator is Gerard Gasson, a member of the National Autistic Society (Fuck them too by the way), and the first rendition of the symbol including a crying child (which... gross). The symbol went through many changes before eventually being adopted by Autism Speaks. I get that the whole idea of autism being "puzzling" could be very seen as ableist and I will say that I do agree that calling autistic individuals themselves "puzzling" is... very ableist! But I've also seen autistic folks view it differently, and some came up with their own interpretations! (my personal favorite being the idea that autism is a "piece" of an individual <3). Additionally, not every autistic individual likes the infinity symbol neither, and that is OKAY! The thing is, there actually is no "official" symbol for autism. Neither the infinity symbol or the puzzle piece are "official" symbols, they just happen to be the most popular. I understand that the puzzle piece makes multiple autistic folks uncomfortable (Admittedly, I prefer the infinity symbol myself), and I understand it has a... problematic history. But I am BEGGING yall to stop harassing autistic folks who continue to use it. Autistic folks are allowed to reclaim the symbol.
