Getting ready to get back to work!

Today, I tried to survive the hot temperatures we've been experiencing in Madrid, while also preparing everything for the upcoming week. I've been on vacation for the entire month, and I believe it's time to get ready for what lies ahead. I even managed to find time to get my hair done and go to the gym before the heat became too intense!

My current plan is to continue working out and studying for the Microsoft PL-100 certification, which is currently my next objective. Also, I wanna get the hang of posting here more often, and maybe come up with more elaborate posts in the future.

I'm Miriam (she/her), 23, and from Spain.

I've had this account for a few years, but I've been too distracted with work and finishing my degree to post anything. Now I plan to stay around for a while!

I mostly work with Microsoft Power Platform and I'm also trying to get some certifications in this area.

since a lot of people are starting school right about now, i just wanted to leave this here to remind myself and others that we don't exist for maximum productivity, don't feel the need to optimize every part of your day. the quickest, most efficient way isn't the most efficient if it drains you physically or mentally. a lot of us are coming back from a rough year and a half, and i don't blame you for making things as easy as possible as you ease into the new semester. love y'all

Also known as Fá or Fatih. A Turkish self-proclaiming asexual from the Netherlands who used to run the study discord “Montuosa Academia”. 

[CW: sexual abuse, predatory behavior, use of guilt-tripping to force consent, unusual kinks]

This user has been sexually messaging users in order to exchange payment for pictures of shoes and socks, or just pictures of your feet. If you say no, he continues with coercive attempts to force a ‘yes’. He knowingly interacts and requests these pictures from people below the age of 18, and becomes extremely sexually specific on what exactly he would be doing when viewing these pictures. Part of this kink is wanting to be “exposed” (on his terms) and degraded, so not having consent seems to be exactly what he wants. He has also expressed anti-Semitic rhetoric, frequent love-bombing between bouts of toxic behavior, and deleted his server Montuosa Academia because nobody replied to an attention-seeking apology for 30 minutes. We encourage you to block this individual and reblog this post in order to spread awareness.

This is not just “tumblr drama”, he has met with several people IRL and has been attempting to meet with even more. According to him, he even admits that people in real life find him uncomfortable to be around. He is a genuine sexual predator and I would suggest not interacting with him.

This August, I'll be starting my last year of Software Engineering in Sweden. I'll be there the first semester and then I'll hopefully come back to start my final project.

textbook: have you ever pulled an all-nighter?

Not really, I don't feel productive at night, so I try to study as much as I can in the mornings or afternoons. The longest I've stayed up studying or working was until 4 a.m. because I didn't have enough time to finish a class project.

motivation: what was your favourite subject when you were little?

I've always loved math, it's sad that we are not taught how to love and comprehend this subject. I also loved biology, I wanted to become a biologist, but I guess that I discovered something that I loved more!

half a year ago, i was considering making a life change that was, frankly, absolutely terrifying to me.

i gave up on being premed in my sophomore year of undergrad for a variety of reasons, the main one being feelings of inadequacy. i never considered the path i'd have to take until it was staring me in the face, and i abandoned my goals out of fear.

fast forward through two years of undergrad, a pandemic graduation, my first adult™ job in the medical field, and a complete re-evaluation of my priorities and what i'm capable of, and... i am proud to say that i am back on a premed track.

this time around, i have a much better idea of what steps i must take, how hard i must work, and how long the path will be. i won't say i'm not afraid anymore. challenging myself is scary. but i've made it this far, and i have so much farther to go.

i'm documenting my non-traditional premed journey, starting with my applications to postbaccalaureate premedical programs. i'd love to hear your stories as well. let's freaking do this thing!
