Listen to Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso on Spotify!
Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso were at the forefront of the Tropicalia movement in late 60's Brazil. The content of the music they wrote contained extensive political and social commentary. The military dictatorship of Brazil's then-government retaliated by throwing the two in jail for three months, followed by four months of house arrest and then again by exile from Brazil. They spent their time of exile in London where they continued making music. SOURCE

Listen to The Stooges’ self-titled album on Spotify!
When The Stooges handed in their self-titled 1969 album to their record label Elektra, they assumed they had enough songs for a full record. However, Elektra was not happy with the five songs worth of material they were given and requested more. "That's ok, we've got lots more songs!", frontman Iggy Pop told the label. This was a lie - the band quickly wrote and recorded three more songs.

After leaving Guns N’ Roses in 1996, guitarist Slash almost joined Britpop group The Stone Roses. He was offered to play, after their guitarist John Squire left the group. Wally Amos, better known as the founder of the Famous Amos cookie brand, didn't start out as a baker. He initially was a music talent agent representing such acts like Simon & Garfunkel. He attracted clients by packing cookies with his invitations to prospective clients. He hadn't considered selling his cookies until a friend of his had suggested it, and with a generous $25,000 loan from client Marvin Gaye and singer Helen Reddy, he was able to open up his first cookie store.
