Hey y'all, this is H... I've been holding off on breaking into Geoff's Tumblr because it was always a hands off area for me. But I would feel remiss to not let you guys know that he passed away on the 8th of May,shortly before one in the afternoon. His pain was well managed and I feel like his soul was at peace.
On April 25th, I woke up to him having a seizure and then he stopped breathing. The EMTs were able to get him breathing but he never woke. He had a couple three heart attacks and a bunch of seizure activity. He just didn't get enough oxygen for too long, although it wasn't ever considered brain death. His angiogram was surprisingly clear but there was weakness in his right ventricle. He was in ICU at Virginia Mason in Seattle, intubated but still breathing on his own, for 8 days. His dad and brothers flew in and his mom and I and them made the hard decisions together. His cousin was with him at the end and he had so many friends come visit him. We played his favorite songs and some that he didn't like. We held his hands, prayed, cried, talked, and everyone told stories...
Well, not me. I kept my stories to myself because no one else would understand what was so funny. Like him singing Holiday Road every time we went in a trip. Or us yelling at deer on one of our first dates in that damn Volvo he had.
Anyway, I thought that you all would like to know. Henry and I are doing a well as can be expected but kids are way more resilient than adults. My heart is broken but I soldier on. Just know that if he knew you or talked to you, he loved you. Tell your people how you feel. Every. Fucking. Day.

SURPRISE!!! My very first single "You and I" is out on Spotify RIGHT NOW!!! I cannot even believe I'm saying that, I've wanted to release music for so long and just woke up on Thursday feeling like I needed this song out. I simply recorded it on my phone and put it out!! I wanted to release it before I turned 17 and Valentine's Day was yesterday so I felt very inspired. I'm so so happy with this song, I feel like it captures a part of my soul that I really wanted to share with the world. I hope you guys love it!🤍

Where Gettin’ Older was a very personal collection of songs, In Another Life is, for the most part, its opposite.
It’s a collection of songs about fictional situations and fantasies that maybe could have been my reality in an alternate universe, with one notable exception.
That exception is Normal. Despite being the most personal song I’ve ever written, I kept Normal on this album because it represents “In Another Life” in a different way: it feels like it took a lifetime (or three) to make it here.
I feel less like I need to explain myself with this collection of songs because they’re not as much like diary entries set to music. They’re just some of my favourite songs I’ve ever written. They’re fun, they’re a little vicious and they romanticize life in a way that I don’t normally do in my songwriting.
I’m so happy this is out in the world!

How can one be so beautiful
God has favorites
Maybe it’s you
Maybe it’s me
Maybe it’s my eyes
Blessed by the sight
Of you

Well the night she has fallen--she's down on her knees.
Like the moon drunk and calling, I'm calling to sea.
Oh, sweet west wind wash me--my hands are caked and stained.
Won't you lay down beside me; love, I need your pain.
And you know it's going to be alright,
And you know it's going to be alright,
And you know it's going to be alright,
When the morning comes.

Peter Yarrow, the singer-songwriter best known as one-third of Peter, Paul and Mary, the folk-music trio whose impassioned harmonies transfixed millions as they lifted their voices in favor of civil rights and against war, has died. He was 86.
Yarrow, who also co-wrote the group’s most enduring song, “Puff the Magic Dragon,” died Tuesday in New York, publicist Ken Sunshine said. Yarrow had bladder cancer for the past four years.
