Lil' Miss Dee: Those Assholes...
Lil' Miss Dee is a series I make really slowly.
In high school, I had to write an essay in "Me 10 Years From Now" (or was it 15?). I though it was a very stupid assingment, so I wrote a satirical version I never turned in to blow of steam. That's how Lil' Miss Dee was born. She is an unsuccessful comic artist, has an unorganized sex life, and a drinking problem.

I went to the mall to buy grossly overpriced soap (as a birthday gift to myself). I also picked up some more of these pens I really liked and made this doodle with them. I'm really pleased with it.
I spent my teenage years drawing with rotring rapidographs, so there is something about pens with a uniform line weight that just clicks.
The pens are medium sized permanent marker and a grey brush marker (the kind children use in school). The one I bought was the very last of the grey ones.
I also caused a Pusheen plastic cup avalanche in the store by hitting my hip on the display.

Playing very old multiplayer games is fun because you will have a game called Chasm, which was originally made for the ATARI or something, but was ported for Windows by the publisher in the nineties. The engine then was forked and rewritten over and over by fans, so now you have to download a 2 meg client called Chasmspike Spiced Risen From the Dead (Based on Mikechasm) abbriviated CSRFD(BnMC), and you log onto a server and it's modded into oblivion to the point you aren't even sure what's on your screen, and the it's full of people who play since it came out and they're beating your ass.
#the other fun part is joining up to a discord server and seeing the boomer version of “hop on fort pussy”#i'm not being sardonic#it's funny#this is about quake btw#and MOUL(a)#but only because of the long name#I got 5 frags the first time I did deathmach I was so proud of myself#quake

It's that time of the year again.
I have a REALLY hard time putting myself out there, and submitting my comics to literary journals is no exception.

A panel form an old, old, old Lil' Miss Dee comic (that you can read on my website).
I should be working on more Lil' Miss Dee stuff, instead of procrastinating on writing a motivation letter.

Oh, this comic. I never finished it because half way through I realized that it would work so much better as an animation. It was about this group of weaboo teenage girls who went to a Japanese karaoke bar together.
It was inspired by a supposed (now defunct) place in Budapest. When I was doing my photography field training one of my upperclassmen told me about it. According to her, it wasn't really good bc it was full of old Asian men trying to hit on young girls. But it was already too late, the romanticized image of going to sing karaoke with your friends was implanted in my mind.
I wouldn't be too scared of animation either, but the whole climax of the story revolves around Jun Togawa's Suki Suki Daisuki. So I either learn to sing a VERY challenging Japanese song, or I need to find someone who will do it instead of me.

Found this experiment buried in a folder. I drew it a few years back. (It's whiteout on a piece of graph paper).
No matter how happy I am with how my current work in progress comic looks like, I feel like my art has become too clean. I let myself be influenced by my inspirations too much. This drawing gave me an idea of what direction I want to go in next.

Shop's open! You can buy some stickers.
I wanted to open a shop since a bit of time to sell my comics and prints and stickers and such. I'm really bad at marketing myself, so having a shop felt redundant.
But now I applied to an online zine fair, and it turns out that they don't actually host a shop with your zines, that responsibility is yours. So I really have to get the ball rolling on the shop thing. What an interesting turn of events.
