lots of great discussion on the dash about fandom etiquette and keeping the fourth wall etc. but also i feel i need to add to the discussion the way i personally am impacted which is that some rudeass motherfucker added Outlast to Good Reads and gave it three stars. can you imagine being such a dick you're adding someone's fanfic to good reads AND THEN GIVING IT THREE STARS. i hope the person who did that somehow sees this post and understands that i think their behaviour is appalling. random person, if i could, i would reach into your brain and remove any memory of having ever read that story because you truly don't deserve it.

another tale of oven woe for you. the cancel/off button of my apartment's oven doesn't work. when i use it i have to use the time cook function to get it to turn off. haven't used it in a while though it's currently stuck in the settings, which i can't get out of, due to the cancel/off button issue

omfg nooooooo. firstly, i love your work around of using the time cook function to turn it off, that's exactly the kind of hack i was trying to find for my oven. but the fact that it's stuck in settings and there's no escape from that... do you need to unplug it to like restart it out of settings? or does it go back to a settings mode upon being plugged in?

so my oven was super old and it had a very small knob you turned to adjust the temp, which was displayed on an old school type screen. the bottom temp is 170 and basically i'd hit oven bake and it would show 170 and then when i tried to turn the knob it went "---" which is NOT a temperature. and then if i hit broil, it would start on "low" but then if i tried to turn it to high it would go "---". once i ran the broiler for 40 minutes (i was REALLY trying to bake chicken) and then that somehow like kicked in the oven functionality and i could change that temperature again, but that was really the last time the oven actually worked as an oven.
