I know I just posted that Kris and soul artwork literally a minute ago but I just realized something.

I see a lot of people defending Toriel not worrying about Kris, saying that Hometown is safe and there's barely any crime and she's allowed to have fun. There's a lot of reasons why I disagree with that, but that's not what I realized.

Kris has their own knife, but they don't have keys to their own house.

Toriel allowed Kris to have their own knife, but didn't give them keys to their own house.

And you can say, "Oh, but Kris was in Noelle's house she probably thinks Kris would be fine and just go there."

But she still didn't give them their own keys to their own freaking house.

Kris carries a knife with them more than they carry the keys to their own freaking house, because Toriel either didn't give them their own copy or didn't give them the keys while they were apart in case Kris went home earlier than her.

something i thought about while writing the last post: something i really like about 101 dalmatian street is how delilah is the one with the important family history. usually in shows where there’s a huge generational history or secret, most times it’s going to be on the husband’s side of the family so i think it’s nice that the wife gets to have the important family history in delilah. i think that’s cool.

there’s a deleted song from the original 101 dalmatians called “march of the 101” sung by pongo, perdita and the puppies when they hitched a ride back home on the van, which is then interrupted by cruella chasing them down in her car. it was cut due to the song presumably not being diegetic like the ones prior (being written by roger) and while i totally get the reason why, god damnit it’s a cute and nice song and i think it should make a comeback in some way or another.

i have a headcanon that it was a song written by the originals to celebrate their escape from cruella, which was passed down with each generation. however, it always had an undercurrent of “oh shit. we literally escaped being skinned alive and horrific violent death” (something something generational trauma something something so on and so forth), undercurrents that delilah didn’t want to pass down to her own family. she always somehow managed to dodge the question of “where did you learn the song” with doug being the only one in the family to know the reason why.

the puppies don’t like to sing the song much anymore post-finale for all the reasons you would expect :/

i was thinking about that trope in movies where a wife dies at the beginning and the only reason that happens is to aid in the development of her husband or son and i thought it would be funny if rusty was the wife who died instead lol

the only things left of him is the memories others had of him, and vhs tapes of him on the beach or at home being pretty and full of love to an excessive degree saying cheesy bullshit to the camera that foreshadows his death

godiva and pearl are older here, around like 6-7 years older than the ages they are during canon so they can take on the trope of grieving mother and angsty daughter who misses her dad (i know that canonically she and rusty’s relationship is more of a sibling dynamic but just ignore that for this au. pretend he was a fatherly figure for her instead)

sam rusty lore: when he was still abandoned in the yard, he got swept up by a hurricane and flown about like a house in kansas. he was hoping that if he made it out alive, the storm would take him somewhere else (preferably to a family he could call his own) but since i can never let rusty know a moment of peace, he landed on the exact spot her was picked up from.
