.. are you seriously agreeing with the idea of forcing source separation?? <- saw the hot take you uploaded. I kind of agree, but you should NOT force alters to source separate. Especially if they're attached to source ((it can be incredibly harmful, as some arent ready to source separate))

((I guess I can understand cases where it's like, Hitler, where honestly if they're attached to that source idk what to say, but I'm more or less referring to other sources that would've been a comfort for people when that alter was split))

I'm asking this in a light hearted tone,, sorry if it comes off rude,, also if you dont know source separation is like not using the same name, faceclaim or identifying with source at all

Hi, nonnie! You answered your own question. Yes, I think it should be forced if the introject has an inherently "bad" source (like you said, hitler). Otherwise, I dont "force" source separation in the way that YOU are defining it. Especially not with media sources.

There are a few meanings from what i'm aware, but I personally describe "source separating" differently! I believe that introjects should realise that they are not IN their source, and that they have the OPTION to be different person. This is obviously up to the alter, but I think it's important to recognise that you are not restricted to what is or isn't canon :3

ignoring the fact my queue fucked up again.. I'm annoyed with the system side of Tumblr, specifically with the "alters aren't their source" and the posts i see.

There is nothing wrong with the statement, it's true. Alters are not their source.. however, alot of systems have taken it and use it for anything ESPECIALLY to avoid alters who are sourced from bigoted media or people and this is not okay.

Alters are not their source and can not control their source but if you split (for example) an alter introjected from Hitler, you can control how they present themselves publicly. Do not let them go by their name or use a picture of him. Especially if you're goyim.

I do not agree to harassing people over alters for their source, but when I see posts trying to make themselves a victim because someone was upset with them for identifying with a bigoted person, I don't feel bad. Me seeing alters being source attached to bigoted assholes makes me think you are not critical, aware or that you agree with the person and people being upset over this, proves my point. If you're upset that I am uncomfortable with your alters identifying and attaching themselves to terrible people, you need to get off the internet

it drives me crazy when other users on this platform create long-ish posts about something and it's so hard to read it bc of the way they phrase it. like weird run on sentences, no commas, no — dashes nothing to separate their thoughts and organize their points neatly. stuff like that. a lot of these people often have good takes and i try to interpret what they're saying but it often takes me a minute bc idk 😓😓

community rant time 🤝🤝 not ranting about anyone in particular im just relaying my personal observations

okay so to me, typing quirks affect the way uu type (like my you = uu thing) while speech quirks affect the way words and sentences are formatted (saying pawlease, purrfect, nawt, etc bc those affect the spelling of certain words only; as well as 3rd person), so when i say speech quirk that's what i mean, that's the difference between tq and speech quirk at least to me

anyway i fucking hate it when people layer so much speech quirks into how they post. a few small ones are okay but some mfs gotta stop collecting all tqs/sqs like stfu this ain't pokemon uu don't have a pokedex uu don't have to catch them all. ∆i Cw∆n ' t Rwe∆d W∆t Kyu ∆re S∆ying ∆nd Fw∆nkly ∆ Lwot Of Other People C∆n N∆wt Re∆d It Either Tew Be Meownest . . . ! and this one last thing is such a minor pet peeve and I'm gonna sound like such an English teacher but it annoys me when people put pronouns in the wrong cases, like switching around subjective case (she, he) with objective case (her, him) i see this kinda often with neoprns that match regular prns, like shy/hyr, che/cher (I'm not the only one who sees this as basically she/her right? lmao), etc. it just bugs me when people go like "I'm friends with shy!! hyr loves making gifts for me (: " when it's SUPPOSED TO BE "I'm friends with hyr!! shy loves making gifts for me"

one does NOT say "her went to the park today. i met she there, i had a short conversation with she, and parted ways after her realized her had to be at a meeting in five minutes" in real life, so shouldn't that rule apply to neoprns inspired by regular prns as well????
