Grew up being told all the time that sometimes there are things worst then death and the 'Tony snaps and lives' falls into it so well but there is never enough angst of this. So many people do it to have the fluff but the angst you can do with it is so strong and deserves to be explored.
Tony Stark survives the Snap.
Dr. Strange's strange magic infused with Wakandans modern technology is enough to keep the massive amount of radiation emitted from the Inifinity stones to reaching his heart and most part of his brain.
As expected his left arm has to be amputated. Skin has to be regrown using the Cradle Technology and there was a high possibility that he'd be partially deaf with his left ear completely charred. His vision will most likely be compromised, once again thanks to the high level of radiation from the stones.
Peter takes all of the physical changes in stride. That man saved the universe so obviously there's going to be some leverage, here and there.
But what gutted him the most is -- the slight possibilities of brain damage due to radiation poisoning.
Peter chokes. Tony is the brightest minds of 21st century. Can he take the loss of his full and extensive brain power without crumbling?
Doctors tell him and Pepper that there's no definitive answer for how extensive the damage can be. It can range from retrograde amnesia to a blown out memory loss or loss of motor abilities --- they aren't able to pin down the degree yet and ends with saying that more diagnoses will be done once Tony wakes up.
Its not when Tony wakes up. It's if Tony wakes up.
In the beginning, Peter takes it all with a grain of salt. Tony Stark has defied all oddities throughout years, through and through again. He survived an open heart surgery in the cave and built a freaking suit there to escape. Survived palladium poisoning. Survived his Malibu house's destruction. Survived the loss of JARVIS. Survived his best friend's betrayal with a shield to his chest.
(He doesn't know, but Tony has lived through his kid's death, too. This in comparison, might be nothing to him.)
Tony Stark will survive this. He might not come out completely unscathed, but not as a husk of the man either.
And that's what Peter tells himself each time he visits the unmoving man lying in the cot. His brain activity has been showing slow variation but nothing huge to signal that he can wake up anytime soon.
But with a ventilator helping him to breathe mechanically, a feeding tube joining in, a cathete bag hanging at the side, the stump where his joints end now bandaged with medicines, one half of his face covered with burn salves, pads sticking to his chest to monitor his heart activities and the days rolling by when 3 weeks turn into 3 months with no real progress even with the world's best medical faculty at hand --- Peter no longer knows.
The doctors have said to give Tony his own time to wake from the coma. With the amount of damage the man has sustained, it won't be surprising if it takes longer than 6 months to wake up, if at all.
But Peter registers none of it. His mind has tethered into the reign of loss. He has lost his parents, his uncle had bled out in his arms. And now there's a high, high possibility that he's going to lose Tony.
Peter lives with the fear haunting him when he leaves the medbay each time after the visit. At night, he glances at his phone every once in a while, waiting for his nightmare to materialise and Pepper to call and deliver the death blow. He wakes up with a gasp at times, his hand scrambling to take his phone from the stand to receive information on Tony's condition through FRIDAY.
Why is the human brain so quick to come up with the worst case scanrio when there's a possibility of greener pasture awaiting on the other side?
One night, when the anxiety crosses beyond its threshold, Peter thinks horrified that maybe it'd have been better if Tony has breathed his last at the battlefield. At least he'd have rested in true peace instead of his life being dragged with machine support.
The massive wave of guilt that crashes into him after the thought blows him over completely that he gasps and breaks down into sobs. He no longer knows what to expect out of the situation other than pain and never ending anxiety.
Why does the human brain not rationalise and get rid of anxiety? Peter doesn't know.

Steve was disguised, well if you count a hat and glass disguise.
He was sitting in a coffee shop somewhere in Queens, it was a cold Sunday morning and cofe was nothing but perfect at this time.
Being on the run wasn't so bad sometimes, he got up paid for the coffee, and was on his way out.
Steve wasn't looking but he heard a boy rumbling on his left and suddenly pumped into him, he looked at the brown curls that reached his shoulder, the boy turned around he had sparkling brom eyes that matched his hair
" Sorry," the boy said
"Kid I told you don't walk backwards "
Steve looked in the direction of the familiar voice, he recognized that face through the hat and glass it was Tony they stared at each other for a few seconds, "oh" The boy made a recognition noise, Steve could tell.
"Tony" Steve greeted
Tony nodded in his direction "Captain"
Tony stepped closer and wrapped his arm around the boy's shoulders "Come on kid, we will be late for the movie" Tony said to the boy smiling fondly in his direction.
"Wanna come, Roger? On me" He offered him, but Steve had another place to be "Maybe at another time Tony" .
"Hay Pete? Why don't you go and buy the tickets and popcorn?" Tony said pulling out 100 dollars giving it to the boy .
The boy (Pete?) Was gaping at Steve, he smiled at him and the boy blushed, turned around, and took the money from Tony, he left.
"Is he yours?" Steve couldn't contain his curiosity, Tony chuckled "God no, he isn't "
"But ah, I care about him, he is a smart kid" Tony continued looking at the boy standing in line, Tony was smiling fondly.
Steve's phone rings in his pocket " I'll have to go, see you around"
Tony pet his shoulder and walked after saying "See ya cap" he walked to the boy, and Pete started talking the moment he saw Tony, he was excited Steve could see it from here.
'It suits him' Steve thought and walked away from the pair.

Imagine being some random rich person at a Gala and seeing Bruce Wayne in a suit with his shirt probably unbuttoned to his naval
And Bruce is a chill guy so what’s the harm in looking down right
Free titties
And omg the titties
So you stare
And your staring
But you feel a weird chill
You look over Wayne’s shoulder and….
Oh.
My
God
All of Wayne’s freakazoid weirdo ass kids are staring into your soul
And omg why does the little one have a sword abort abort abORT ABORT ABOR-
Bonus:
*internal dialouge*
Damian: never look at my father with such disease in your eyes, your worthless soul does not deserve his beauty
Dick: fuck off fuck off fuck off get the fuck away from my mother father Bruce before I tear out your eyeballs and feed them to you, wait for them to shit out and the feed them to you again and then-
Jason: *pure mindless rage screaming*
Tim: if you know what’s fucking good for you, you’ll stop right there
Steph: *will never admit it but people objectifying Bruce makes her so uncomfortable in a way she will never look at because fuck self reflection* but so help her you leave that poor man alone he’s dealt with enough objectification for a life time
Cass: mama 🔪🔪🔪💣👊 I protect
Duke: I’ve known this man for a few months and he’s such a wet cat, I’m going to kill everyone in this room and then myself if you don’t take a FUCKING STEO BACK RIGHT NOW ISTG MOTHER FU-
Just the kids lowkey treating Bruce like a helpless 1920s damsel in distress in their minds makes me giggle
I the sense of the dynamic you get between slightly grown men and the mother who raised them in hard times in movies eg: I know you lived a hard life and can probably and have killed a man but I will treat you like delicate glass because I love you and you seem so fragile to me and because I’m grown and big and strong now and can protect you like how you protected me but no one protected you but I’m emotionally stunted and can only express this feeling via slightly aggressive affection and protection

I have a crazy theory about Ultron in the MCU.
Tumblr media
Okay, hear me out.
We all know that in the MCU, Ultron is Tony’s creation. But in the comics? He was made by Hank Pym.
What if that’s true in the MCU too?
Think about it. Back in his younger days, when Hank was still Ant-Man, he was trying to compete with Stark. Maybe that’s what pushed him to start something no one had ever succeeded at before: creating a self-aware AI.
He builds Ultron. Brings it online. But something goes wrong. Ultron starts showing dangerous, anti-human behavior. A strange anger. Uncontrolled. Almost… familiar. Like the suppressed rage Hank himself struggled with for years. Hank panics and tries to shut it down… but fails.
Ultron feels betrayed. Abandoned by his "father". He turns against humanity with a personal grudge. Hank and Janet team up to stop him—and after a long, brutal fight, they finally succeed.
But a powerful AI like Ultron never truly dies.
Remember in Ant-Man when Hank said he left S.H.I.E.L.D. because they were stealing his research? What if Project Ultron was one of those?
Years pass. Ultron is locked away, buried deep in old S.H.I.E.L.D. servers—forgotten by most, but not truly gone.
And then comes the leak.
In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Natasha Romanoff—Black Widow—dumps all of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s classified files onto the internet. Every locked folder. Every dark secret.
What if the dormant Ultron code was in there too? Buried in that massive data dump. Hiding in plain sight until Tony—or maybe even J.A.R.V.I.S.—found it.
Not knowing it wasn’t some half-baked idea...
But the ghost of a monster. Waiting.
Tumblr media
As we saw in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony had the idea of Ultron but didn’t know how to make it real. What if he get that idea from there?
What if he found some of the early Ultron blueprints—confiscated by S.H.I.E.L.D. long ago—and unknowingly tried to revive something far more dangerous than he realized?
Oh, and let’s not forget: Ultron especially hates Tony Stark. Like, personally.
And who we know in the MCU that hates the Starks more than anyone else?
Tumblr media
“Ultron can’t tell the difference between saving the world and destroying it.”
“Where do you think he gets that?”

Tony Stark was raised to be productive and charismatic. He was raised to be smart, know it, and use it.
The moment he decided to put his time travel invention to action, with a quip to match in order to make his teammates less wary, he made his father proud.
He wasn’t raised to die but he certainly wasn’t raised to live. Some part of him knew that his own survival instincts betrayed the values with which he was raised.

Tony being repulsed by injuries and zoning out anytime a teammate is in pain, because it reminds him of his surgery in the cave. He never really remembers it in detail, until someone else is screaming. Then he can feel it in his chest.
It’s selfish of him, to make their pain about him. Better to avoid it altogether. At least they think it’s just selfishness. At least they think he’s just callous.
One thing is certain, though. He will never scream like that again.

Pepper: Tony, you’ve been in the lab for two days! You need to sleep!
Tony: Come on, Pep— I’m not even tired and I’m almost done! Just one more day…
Pepper, leaving the lab:
Pepper, storming in five minutes later with Peter by her side:
Peter, sniffling dramatically: Mr. Stark, I’m tired :(
Tony, throwing all his tools down immediately and hurrying out of the lab: Welp, you heard the kid. Friday, dim the lights and cue up Star Wars. I’ll grab the weighted blankets. You grab the hot cocoa. We meet on the couch in five—
Pepper, slipping Peter ten bucks: Thanks sweetheart
Peter, now ten bucks richer, binging Star Wars, AND hanging out with Tony: Thank me? This is the best day of my life

Marvel Prompt~🎉
*Tony tinkering in his lab, just enjoying himself. He moves to open a cabinet on one of his workbenches to grab some tools.*
*Clint is laying in the cabinet, snacking, having made a nest in said workbench.*
Clint: "..."
Tony: "..."
Clint: "... I can explain-"
Tony: "Why always do you pick the most random ass spots to make a damn nest?"
*Clint pouts.*
Clint: "Cause it feels better to have a nest in a random spot that is cozy, than a more logical spot."
Tony: "..."
Clint: "..."
*Tony shuts the cabinet and just let's Clint keep his nest. Clint is cheering inside, happy he wasn't being evicted.*
Clint" "Yay! :D"

“You can’t fix everything,” Clint said and shook his head. Tony lifted his head and glared at him.
“I’m Anthony Edward Stark, I have four doctorates and a bunch of masters, if there’s one person on this planet who can fix it then it’s me,” he hissed.
“Come on, Tony,” Clint sighed. “Just… let me throw it away and…”
“No,” Tony persisted. He removed the magnifiers for a moment and rummaged in his toolbox. When he found a tiny screwdriver he put them back on and went back to work.
“Four doctorates, huh?” Clint suddenly asked. And Tony looked up once more.
“Yes, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineerings and medieval literature,” he said and shrugged.
“You have four doctorates and everyone calls you Mr. Stark?” Clint asked incredulously. He leaned over the workbench to look at Tony, who worked concentrated. But this made him look up again.
“How long do you know me?” He asked out of the blue. Clint shrugged.
“Since New York, six years,” he said then.
“And you still think I place any value on people telling me I’m smart?” A small mischievous smile was on his lips.
Clint chuckled and shook his head again and Tony went back to his work.
“So… uhm… medieval literature?” Clint asked after a few minutes and cocked his head.
Tony sat up and looked at him, a smirk on his lips.
“Yeah, knights and damsels in distress, baby,” he said.
“Seriously?” Clint blurted.
“Yeah,” Tony nodded and - with a tiny blush - he added, “and I was a huge fan of a certain archer who stole from the rich and gave it to the poor.” He winked.
“That’s the reason for the armor?” Clint winked back. Tony cocked his head and looked at him, his brows furrowed.
“Huh,” he said, “I’ve never seen it from this point of view. But it makes sense. The armor was the first thing that came into my mind in that cave.”
“When I was a boy I waited for a knight in shining armor to save me from my dad,” Clint admitted. “But those fuckers always wanted to rescue damsels and not little boys.”
“Want me to put on the armor?” Tony asked and Clint shook his head, leaned over to him with a smile and kissed his cheek.
“No, not necessary,” he said. “I found my knight, and you know what? He already saved me.” He smiled and when Tony looked at him, he kissed him again. “So… uhm… I leave you to your… work,” he said and rose.
And halfway on his way to the door he heard Tony’s “HA!” behind himself and the typical Tetris music started to play, “I knew I wouldn’t be bested by a twenty-five years old Game Boy!”

Peter: wait… you missed me?
Tony, just back from a three day long Avengers mission: Absolutely not. Why would you even think that?
Also Peter, stuck in a hug so tight from Tony that if he didn’t have super powers he’d probably have broken bones: no reason
