You guys suck sometimes. Both of you.
Dean & Jack letting desperation get the better of them:

To quote Dean from season 4, "Yeah, you guys probably need a somethin' little more than sorry."
//
And see, if Wayward Sisters had been picked up, the only thing to do would be to create a scenario where Kaia is desperate enough, wounded enough to do the same thing.
;-)
//
BONUS : Kaia will have both Jack AND Dean eating out of her little palm forever after this. And in s15, you can kinda see it...

I need everyone to enter the era of understanding that Cas has zero taste or class. He is a blue collar angel and that is literally the whole point. His fuckass pretentious brethren are the ones who like luxury and think they're too good for lowbrow human experiences. The whole POINT is that Cas is different.
Cas likes beer and grape jelly and reality t.v. He is not watching nature documentaries; he's watching 90 Day Fiancé. He does not have a garden; he has 3 potted succulents at BEST and only because Dean takes care of them. He watches porn for the plot. He likes emojis. He's a jock. His most frequently-worn item during his graceless arc was a hoodie. He's kind of a fuckboi.
I genuinely believe seeing a ham and cheese pinwheel at a party would have caused him to wax poetic about human ingenuity.
Recognition for my working class angel who acquired his taste in music third-hand from a mechanic via the mechanic's construction worker son. He doesn't even like to read. 🙏🥰🙏

dean canonically being against the death sentence is so funny. local man whose job is literally killing living beings that are capable of complex thought and morality when they step out of line or even for merely existing is against the death penalty.

just came here to say that i think the quote “he’s in love, with humanity” (by metatron about castiel) is the perfect encapsulation of castiel’s internal calculus and why I believe he doesn’t want to be a human. I know a lot of people say it’s just “he’s in love with dean” (as a joke or seriously) but I truly don’t think it was just about Dean. Castiel always cared for humanity, back when he saw it as his Father’s creation, and later when he fell and saw the value in it through Dean’s eyes and then his own.
but the thing is, when you fall in love, you love all of it—the beauty, the pain, and most importantly I think, the differences. Loving doesn’t mean that you want to be a part of something, that you want to emulate it, or become it. Loving means you want to step into place beside it, and to fit it into the space beside you. Castiel loves humanity, he does, as a protector does. As a companion, in the way that only someone inhuman can.

Your post about Jack w messy guy liner literally lives in my head rent free
The character styles / fashion choices of the early seasons (e.g Dean's jewellery, the stickers on Sam's laptop, even the way Adam dressed) were infamously abandoned butttt if the fashion remained a more solid thing in the later seasons - what sorts of things do you think would be apart of Jack's styling?
a little something like this and lots of striped stuff

i don’t think he’d be a big jewelry wearer, maybe a few bracelets and one or two small necklaces (definitely occult or zombie related)

You know how snakes famously don't feel love? They'll wrap themselves around their owners because it's warm and they're cold blooded, and they'll even go to sleep feeling safe, but despite all this, they're still incapable of feeling love
Now look at this scene :
Tumblr media
Snake and Jack parallels / motifs? Yes yes yes
People still love their snakes even when they know their snakes don't love them back - and I think that there may be another parallel here about loving without the expectation / need to be loved back (and in both the case of snakes and in Jack's case, it's absolutely not their fault that they can't love them back - like it's not active choice for them)
Because of course snakes deserve love, and by extention, of course Jack also deserves love

"I'm not like Sam or Cas. I... I understand"
Sometimes I think about how completely and utterly unloved Jack must have felt in this moment.
And he's just accepted it. That he's not lovable. At this point he's gone through every single hoop possible to try and be loved and it just hasn't worked out for him.
Think about all the terrible things Sam, Dean and Cas have done throughout their lives - Godstiel destroying heaven ("If I see what heaven's become, I'm afraid I may kill myself"), Mark of Cain Dean killing a bunch of people including humans ("Tell me you had to do this. Tell me it was either them or you") and basically everything Sam did while he was soulless (what comes to mind specifically is when he kills the dude who could have been saved and then got with his wife).
And like, that's just to name a few. But the point of these examples is that depending on whether or not Jack knew about these events (like from stories or something), it may have just made things worse for him.
Think back to when Jack killed his first person, and Dean consoles him by saying that if Jack's a monster, then they're all monsters by that definition.
And now cut to the present scene here
I think from Jack's perspective, he isn't given the same grace as say Sam or Cas because he isn't family, he isn't loved and its not even because of how bad the thing he did was - its because (in his mind) there's something fundamentally different about him. Something that makes him 'other'. Something that makes him fundamentally unlovable.
So what's the point? There's nothing else he can do, he's exhausted all his attempts and now he's folded. He'll do this one thing that will make them happy, and then he'll go away forever. Because the one thing he wants, he now knows for sure he can't have - so what's the point in sticking around on earth?
Of course we as the audience know this isn't true, of course Jack deserves love but this is sort of what I interpret to being going through Jack's head at that very moment - and I think it's why he looks / acts so exhausted in this moment despite having just overheard something awful.

Today, Jack eats a plain tortilla as a snack. Dean walks into the kitchen, sees the half eaten tortilla in their hands, and immediately pivots back into the hallway, avoiding what he knows would be a pointless confrontation.
