Happy birthday, blog!

So it’s been a year since I made this thing now. Hoo geez - time really flies. A ton of things have happened since starting this blog; I’ve gained three tattoos, grown into myself more. I’ve been able to visit the Philippines for the first time since high school and reconnect with that part of myself. I was able to work on some amazing projects, too. But most notably, this blog has brought me unexpected love in the form of friends and my beautiful, amazing datemates.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s been a real rollercoaster. I’ve shed a lot of tears in the past few months alone, overworked myself to the point of exhaustion and had to deal with some troubling and awful situations. But all the things I listed before plus the growth I’ve experienced was all worth it.

Even though I’ve spent a better part of this past year not actually doing a ton writing, I still cherish this blog so much. It’s been a gateway to so many great things and I’m so thankful that any of you had any interest in it at all. I’m really happy I got to be a part of this community. You’ve all been really amazing and I thank you for making this experience a good one.

So with that I’m gonna say this is it for dtk-imagines for now. As I said in the last post, I’ll be leaving this up for my reference and yours. Cherry, Plum, Hound and Hunter are all still my darling boys but any new content with them will be posted over at @the-determined-kid , along with any of my Undertale related content. If you need me I’ll be there ☺️

Heyo everybody!

It’s been a long while. I hope you’re all doing well! A week today is the anniversary of this blog (May 14th!) and I thought I’d come by with an update. So much has happened since December. I met my partners, gotten extremely sick and overworked myself a ton and that’s really oversimplifying things. I’ve barely had any time to indulge in my own art and side projects and I’m still trying to find a way back into my groove. At the moment, I’m doing my best just to keep on track. I’ll be honest, I don’t know what I’ll be doing with this place or when I’ll start being super active again. Maybe never, maybe once every blue moon. But I’d like to just keep this here regardless for anyone who’s enjoyed my imagines. I don’t really check this blog anymore either so if you would like to reach me, please do that via @the-determined-kid.  I’ll save all my thank yous and sappy things for next week. For now I hope you enjoy your days - take care of yourself, everyone.

Updates, life stuff.

Hey everyone! So. It’s been a really interesting time for me recently - in the past month and a half I’ve relaxed, planned for travel, had a job fall through, and found a new one. I’ve thrown myself head first into work again and I haven’t had the energy to write. I can’t guarantee more asks but I will say that I’d like to revisit the blog in the new year, perhaps with some other things. So until then, have safe, happy holidays. Try as I may, I've been having a difficult time with writing as of late. I've either been uninspired or focussed on other things. Many apologies to those who have been waiting on asks! MOD APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN

I put a lot of thought into this, and I have to admit that I need help. Currently, I have over 60 asks, which normally isn’t a lot, but I have a ton of fics that I need to update, projects that I want to work on, plus balance school and work. This is causing me too much stress, especially since one of the projects that I want to do requires and empty askbox and it has a deadline. Help would be highly appreciated and very much needed. 

ABOUT THE POSITION

➼ Accepted Mods will be answering requests from the askbox. 

➼ All ages are welcome. I have a system where minors will not be able to view the NSFW asks, so that will not be a problem. The details will be explained once the applications close. 

➼ The position will be temporary. Once all the asks in the inbox are cleared or I am ready to take on the workload myself again, the mods will be released. 

➼ Because Skelltales is my personal blog, I have likes and conversations that I’d like to keep private, so the mod will not have direct access to the blog. I will explain further once all positions are taken. 

➼ I will be accepting 3 mods total. At least one must be able to do NSFW asks.

➼ The Mod MUST have a Discord and a Google account. All communications will be done through both sites. It is free for both to sign up. 

➼ Be able to work with others and communicate in a group setting.

So, for all the skellies: S/O disappeared one day and the police eventually had to give up on the search. A year later though, one night, someone knocks on the door. S/O is standing there, covered in old and fresh wounds, crying but still wearing the same beautiful smile the monster always loved so much. They simply say "Heya love... I missed you so much". (Does any of this make sense? I'm still really tired, sorry. :'D)

US!Sans/Plum:

– One thing you have to know is that Plum was the one who probably called off the search. After months and months, investigation upon investigation, nothing. He tirelessly worked with the police and Alphys and anyone else he could get to pull together and find you. Eventually, Alphys and Cherry confronted him about you, convincing him to drop it, that if you were still out there, you’d be... He was so heart broken that he struggled to find peace in his routine now that you weren’t there.

– It’s the middle of the night when you knock. He’s still wide awake and studying some astronomy book, unable to sleep very well since you left. He opens the door and thinks its a dream. He reaches out to your face and, in the most Plum fashion, starts rambling. “Oh i must be dreaming, when did i fall asleep? Oh look at you, exactly how i remember.. but i wonder why my dream decided to have you hurt?”

– He only breaks out of then when you speak, and then his sockets widen and he realizes you’re real. You’re real, and you’re here, and he’s touching you oh my god -

– Plum’s sockets well up with tears and he pulls you inside, shuts the door and then hugs you so tight. Cherry comes downstairs to find him still holding you, crying. He has so many questions but oh, he’s just so happy you’re alive right now. They can wait.

US!Papyrus/Cherry:

– Cherry’s anxiety spiked up like mad when you disappeared. He looked everywhere, letting search teams do their thing but mostly trying to find you himself. After a couple of months of dead ends and false leads, he got discouraged. Sans tried to keep him hopeful but when even he stopped doing that and started to look sad for his brother, Papyrus lost all [HOPE] of finding you and fell into something of a depression.

– He’s just on the couch when you knock. He hasn’t left the space except when Sans makes him go change and freshen up. Whatever is on tv isn’t something he’s paying attention to. He’s zoned out with lollipop wrappers all over the living room. It almost doesn’t register when you knock.

– When he answers the door, the sucker falls out of his mouth. There’s an immediate ‘what the fuck’ and he closes the door again, thinking he’s started to hallucinate now. He tries to go back to the couch - but that’s when you knock again.

-- Now he questions himself. He opens it, slowly; and when you speak - you speak with your voice he thought he might never hear again - he doesnt let you finish. Cherry just sort of falls forward into you and wraps you in his arms. You sink to the ground at the doorway, a tangle of limbs and whispers. There are so many questions, and he asks each of them slowly while his head is in the crook of your neck. With each word you say, tension melts away from his bones and he thinks things might be okay.

SF!Sans/Hunter:

– As with Plum, Hunter was a part of all the groups that were leading searches. The main difference is that he attempted to lead all of them, which was not contested because he gave no other choice, anyway. Many of his acquaintances allowed it, attributing it to grief. Unlike Plum, Hunter continues this way for about a month and then suddenly just stops. Calls off the search teams, demands for posters to be taken down. His [HOPE] is lost - and it isn’t that he doesn’t care anymore. It’s just that he was already so used to quick deaths and disappearances (whether it was from his own recruits and teams or just the environment of the Underground anyway) that if you hadn’t been found after a month, then you couldn’t be anything other than dead. He channeled his sadness into his work, burying himself in it as he tried to move on.

– When you show up on his doorstep it’s when he’s got all the traps deactivated for a routine check. He comes to the doorway, prepared to reprimand Hound for coming in during the check up - but then is faced with a bruised you. He only trips over his words for a moment before his face contorts into something angry and betrayed.

– He yells at you, yells as he walks out of the house and makes you back away on to the side walk. He screams about your irresponsibility and carelessness. Why didn’t you call him? Did someone take you? Are you hurt? Who did this, are they dead?

– The shrieking comes to a stop when he finally takes a moment to really look at you. You’re here, even though he thought you dead so long ago. He’d accepted it, and now… He grabs you and roughly brings you into the house. It’s only when he sits you down on the couch that he roughly pulls you into an awkward embrace and tells you to never leave again.

SF!Papyrus/Hound:

– Out of all the boys, this one might have held out the longest. Unlike his brother, he’s done his best to put the constant string of death as a thing of the past. The Surface is supposed to be better, and he’s experienced that it is by now, so he has more [HOPE] for your return. He joins the search parties and does his best to help with what information he has. He has to be convinced by his brother to finally stop, though - and it’s around the 7 month mark. Hunter has to point out that no new evidence has turned up, the searches have been called off, and that he should start to learn how to live with the idea of you never returning. He manages to get Hound to stop, reluctant though he may be. He returns to his day jobs, devastated but deep down still hopeful for you to turn up one day.

– When you knock it’s another day, he thinks it’s the neighbour coming to complain about his brother’s noise in the garage again, so he ignores it and keeps reading his book. But when the knocking is persistent and decidedly calmer than what he normally has to deal with, he gets up to answer.

– There aren’t even any words for the expression he makes. He flashes through many at once - shock, confusion, happiness. The emoting is all you can get out of him for a long while, and when you speak he scoops you up and gives you the most careful hug - as though you might disappear again. You feel tears soak your clothes and he stands there and holds you for an indefinite amount of time. You’re home, he knew it. He knew you were alive. He’s so happy his soul feels like it’s going to tear right through him and light up the room. He’s never letting you go.

The us + sf skeletons react to chara coming home crying with a black eye & when they asked what happened, they said that they were beaten up by some mean kids who hated them because they were raised by monsters.

US!Sans/Plum:

– The moment they enter the house, Plum wastes no time and ushers Chara to the couch. He gives them a long hug and, when they tell him how it happened, he turns serious. While he’s patching them up, he assures them that he’ll take care of it. After they’re cheered up with some laughs and hugs, of course.

– The next day, he finds himself sitting at the desk of Chara’s teacher. He has no ill feelings towards them, but he does make it clear that he believes they should not condone that kind of thinking. He encourages them to try and correct it when they see it.

– If the parents happen to be in the room, or if there is another meeting held with all of them there, Plum actually does his best to convince them to think differently of monsters. He’ll probe them with questions and counter the thoughts their express very carefully. He knows it’s a fine balance between them just hating them more and changing their ways, but he figures that it’s worth a try for Chara.

US!Papyrus/Cherry:

– When Chara comes in, Cherry pats the space on the couch beside him and sits quietly as Chara explains the origins of the bruises. They don’t hear the crack that comes from his sucker as his jaw tightens around it.

– Cherry’s pissed. What kind of parents teach kids these things, that it’s okay to go harassing and beating up another kid about their family? As he tends to Chara’s wounds, he can’t help but think about how hard the kid worked to bring all of them to the surface. It’s not right.

– The next day, shows up to the playground and sits these kids down to talk. And by sitting them down, I mean that he uses his magic to float them all to the same bench that he and Chara are in front of. He tells them to apologize, sincerely, and promise to not touch another hair on their or anyone else’s head. The rest of the rest of the school year is free of any other incidents.

SF!Sans/Hunter:

– Hunter’s furious. All this work to bring them to the surface and this is what the child gets? No, they deserve more than an apology. He leaves Chara in Hound’s care and sets out the door to give people several pieces of his mind.

– He goes to each other the kid’s houses to confront the parents. If they don’t answer or try slam the door in his face, he stands on the lawn and projects his voice so that the whole neighborhood can hear him yell about how they need to control their child and just accept reality, because the monsters deserve to be on the surface as much as they do. “ARE YOU NOT ADULT HUMANS? GROW UP!”

– Sans forces the parents AND the kid to apologize to Chara - who he brings along to each house. He’s going to be known in at least two different neighbourhoods.

SF!Papyrus/Hound: 

– As with Plum, when Hound finds out he also tries to take care of Chara first. He brings them to the bathroom and cleans them up, reassures them that everything is okay. While he doesn’t go to the school, he does end up making sure that he takes Chara to and from school for the following weeks.

– And he might ask the teacher is he can supervise during the day – perhaps he even pops up as the new playground monitor if the principal hires monsters (and they probably should if they dont wanna get an earful from Hunter). He wears the reflective vest over his own and sits by the slides as Chara plays.

– Hound would never hurt the offending kids. He didn’t even become a monitor so he could intimidate them; he’s really just there to make sure Chara has a good time. And maybe, just maybe, even show those kids that monsters aren’t really as scary as they look.
