@franzliszt-official It's been published as a book ... Now what really matters is did you snap at him? 👀
I started reading the letters exchanged by Wagner and Liszt and since my hyperfixated brain is going feral about them I would love to submit a Wagner quote but I can't think of anything even remotely funny, just cathartic pieces of microfanfiction where Liszt finally snaps at him.
Oh yeah, and love your blog. It's kept me sane on more than one occasion. :D
chaotic weener
but hey, if you ever get to think of a quote, don't hesitate to submit it!
thanks for tuning in! 🤩

I need opinions because I'm really unsure if I'm overreacting but ... Can you maintain that an unhealthy dynamic was a clear one-sided abusive situation with an identifiable perpetrator and an identifiable victim AND also say that it's at least partially the victim's fault for enabling the abuser and teaching them that it's okay to treat the victim like that? Especially considering emotional manipulation and gaslighting are MEANT to slowly turn the victim into an enabler and erode away their self-confidence to a point where they don't realise it.
Like, there's a difference between learning to recognise and stand up against toxic behavior and being at fault for being an enabler, right?
And then if you ARE partially at fault, it's not such a clear black and white dynamic, or am I tripping?

“First of all, I don’t see how that’s my concern. He’s the last person I want to see right now. Or ever. Second of all, seriously, J? Remember the last talk we had about not letting malignant narcissist dad run your entire life?”
“I know. I know. I don’t plan to. I’d just like to be able to talk to him about some stuff, you know. Last time I tried he didn’t listen.”
“And he won’t now. Trust me. I’ve learned that the hard way.”
“And, more importantly, I’m afraid he’s planning something. He’s been awfully preoccupied with rainbows lately, and somehow I doubt he just wants to come out. Please, Luci. I don’t want to look for him alone. Or ... face him alone.”
“Ugh ... alright then. I’ll help you find him.”
“You need to find God,” says the man at the door. “No I’m good, thank you,” you say, starting to close the door. “Please!” says the man urgently. “God is missing, please find him!”

“How are you holding up?”
"What do you think?"
“Well, judging by your rather concerning lack of denial I’d say like a fish on dry land?”
“That’s been banged against the ground repeatedly but is somehow still alive.”

"Please, if you would just hear me out, I really need you to -"
"I have nothing left. Nothing. I... I want to, but my wallet's empty, and my head's empty, and I'm... Empty. I... I have nothing."
"Come on, don't say that. You can at least listen to me, you know how much I care about you and how much I need you. Come on, let's meet up tomorrow, I'll explain in peace and I'm sure you'll understand. You can do that much, right? It's just one meeting."
"... Okay."

"I can take it, you know."
"What?"
"Whatever it is that you're keeping bottled up. If you want to talk about it, I can take it."
"... All of it?"
"All of it."

"Why are you torturing yourself?"
"I'm not torturing myself, I'm keeping myself sane. This, this is a good kind of pain. It's appropriate, it's pure, it's what anyone would and should feel. I just have to keep feeling it, and then maybe I'll forget everything else."

“Hey, can you read what that sign says?”
“Yes.”
“... Well?”
“You can’t read it?”
“No.”
“Are you illiterate?”
“What? No. You know I’m short-sighted.”
“That you are indeed.”
“Shut up!”
...
“Well, what does the sign say?”

"I thought you didn't want to have your mental breakdown on the floor?"
"The kitchen floor. I never said anything about the bathroom. The bathroom floor is a perfectly reasonable place for a mental breakdown."

“How are you feeling?”
“On a scale from one to soggy cereal that’s been left in the sun and forgotten for a week I’d say I’m somewhere around an old receipt that fell into a puddle a day ago.”
“Well, that’s an improvement at least.”

"I'd die for you, you know."
"I, too, would die because of you."
"Awwww."
"I'm more sure of it with every word you say."
"Aww- wait, what?"
"I wish to be deceased."
