I think about the change for Backslide constantly.

Tyler going from muttering "I don't wanna-" and into that fading whisper, almost ashamed, of "backslide" in the studio recording-

To the gutteral SCREAM of "I DON'T WANNA-" in the live shows. Full of ANGER. I love it.

The shift from being ashamed, almost afraid-

To being angry. Not WANTING this. Wanting better. To do better. Being angry that it does happen, sometimes- even if we know it's okay, it's frustrating.

And Tyler invokes that PERFECTLY with this switch in the concerts.
