Behold! Hollowlanders Prism Break! I based him off the Golems found in Crystal peaks, he's probably abit smaller than them I'd imagine. I would've made his crystals purple like the ones in the peaks, but then it wouldn't be Prism Break, y'know? Oh, also my friend king helped with the hand crystals and the colors. (I got stuck on said hand crystals for like a week)

I should see about finding ways to implement the characters i draw for Hollowlanders into my worldbuilding for undergrowth... That'd be fun.

That and maybe drawing a portal of power for them to stand on so their not just a PNG on a blank background lmao. If anyone has an idea for what i could do for that, lemme know!

Hello!

I saw your post about your Hollowlanders project - it's definitely a really cool combination of different video games.

I don't know too much about Skylanders since I never played the games, but I remember reading a guidebook on the characters at some point. In it it said that Spyro had some sort of dark magic form if I remember correctly? I'm not sure how to translate his design into more Hollow Knight-ly vibes, but maybe incorporating some void aspects for the dark magic form might work?

Also I think there was a dragon for each element type, so maybe a dragonfly might work for either the water or the flying dragon? Dragonflies are found near water and fly really well, so it could work as a base for either character.

No need to draw these if your focusing on other drawings - I just saw that you were looking for a few ideas so I thought it would be fun to share. I'm looking forward to seeing the next drawing for this series - you do a really good job at mimicking the HK drawing style.

Oooo, i think your onto something there! I believe your referring to Dark Spyro, he was a special variant that was black and silver, and even had some unique traits in some of the 3ds games that set him apart from normal spyro! A few other Skylanders like Spitfire, King Pen, ect also had dark variants, but i never really thought of including those since I didn't want to do reposes and stuff like that since i thought it was abit... redundant, y'know?

But your idea of using void and stuff sounds very interesting! I'll definitely have to consider using that for them. (Definitely gotta do it for Spyro and Dark spyro.)

As for the different dragon Skylanders, I've already got one of them done with the air dragon, Whirlwind. (specifically the original 8 from the first game) I was gonna make them all dragonflies, but i thought it'd be more interesting to make them all based off different flying bugs in general (plus whirlwind gave me more moth vibes since she looks less like a dragon since she's part unicorn or whatever. But I'll definitely see about making the water dragon be based off a dragonfly! (It'd be kinda wrong not to afterall lol)

Also thanks for the compliment! I'm glad people like my art, drawing stuff with the Hollow knight artstyle is my first time really getting into drawing things since i was really young lol.

So good news with the Hollowlanders project for those interested, I've got multiple drawings in the works (i think 5 as of now?) 2 in particular are very close to completion...

In other news, i am still taking requests for what Skylanders to draw next for the Hollowlanders project! I believe someone already requested that i draw Spitfire as one. Still uh, still cracking away at that one (how does one make a blue fire snake a bug? lol)

Also, if anyone would be interested... I'm more than happy to possibly do a collab on some of these Hollowlanders! (Definitely not just trying to find a way to make it easier on myself LMAO 🤣) But for real though, i think it'd be nice to work together with other people that like Skylanders and Hollow Knight. Even if you can't really draw, suggestions and ideas for what a character should be or whatever would still be greatly appreciated!

Been abit since i posted a Hollowlanders drawing (sorry bout that! 😅) but I'm back with a brand new addition to the roster! This time we've got Short Cut!

I decided to make him a Weaver since i thought it'd be a good fit for him since he's a tailor according to his lore (plus he uses a needle and silk in some attacks.) I would've made his scissors a one-to-one replica, but i decided to do my own thing with em.

I also decided to include his puppet minions as lil patchwork Weaverlings! Here's a better view of the lil guy. Not the most detailed mind you, but i think it looks good.

So recently i was talking with a friend about the Sculk from Minecraft since they made a Sculk themed Vessel OC and then i remembered "Oh yeah, i have a Sculk themed Hollow Knight OC to!"

BEHOLD, THE SCULK LORD!

I made him along time ago, back before i started drawing. I made him so i had a character on this one Minecraft roleplay realm i was playing on afew years ago. I won't go into his story here since it's completely irrelevant now since that realms no longer around. (That and all the lore below is for the version of him that appears on the Pale Earth.)

Oh, and before i forget, my friend Chomper helped with the Sculk details and armor bits on the drawing! Also the capes shape is was outlined by a friend I had made on that Minecraft realm, but i sadly don't remember their username.. (It's been like 2 or 3 years in my defense!)

He's an ancient Roach necromancer (or as i call them, a "Necroachmancer", heheh) who once ruled over an ancient civilization near the bedrock of the world. He eventually discovered an ancient, primordial fungal mold-like entity (literally just the Sculk but edited to fit in the world of Undergrowth, gotta work on it still.) He then began studying this being, and eventually discovered a way to "control" it in a sense. By merging his mind with this entity, he would essentially die, but then be reborn as an immortal Sculk/Roach hybrid. He then let the Sculk overtake his own kingdom so that it may feed on the souls of all the bugs that once lived there. He used his newfound control over the Sculk and his power of necromancy to create an army of Sculk infused Husk soldiers so that he may lay claim to the surface would above, but was defeated long ago by a group of heroic warriors.

That's all I've got so far for him atm. But expect more from Sculk lord and his minions in the future!

Finally got around to finishing the design for one of the characters that lives on the seas of the Pale Earth. Introducing Captain Honeydew!

She's the Captain-Queen of a band of Bee pirates, and one of the most well known pirates across the Silver seas (and thankfully one of the "nicer" ones.) She's also blind in one eye, missing her left arm, and antenna due to a rather violent encounter with another pirate character of mine, Dr. Sawbones. (I'll get to finishing his design... eventually)

You might've seen her in some of @rhyme-tyme's pirate stories (...i think, i don't remember if she's in any of the ones he's posted lol). She acts like a mother figure to his pirate Vessel OC, Marauder.

I'd write some more stuff bout her or her crew, but i haven't really sone much thinking bout anything involving the Oceans of the Pale Earth, let alone the people on them. (I've got alotta stuff to write about, ya know!)

Looked through my art gallery as of recent, and realized "Wow, i've got alot of unfinished sketches and stuff that needs to be finished still."

So i figured it'd probably be nice to show off some sketches of stuff here an there since i procrastinate alot on drawing alot of stuff lol. (Some of this stuff is like a year or two old, jeez..)

Here's an early sketch of a Daddy long legs spider OC I'm in the process of making! He's unnamed as of rn, but i do have abit of lore for him, being that he's a businessman from the more "Old west" regions of the Pale Earth, and is one of the heads of a massive Trading company that's prominently ran by spiders. (i wanted to make a "Silk road" reference lol.) He's also got no legs, and uses pin needles as prosthetic legs that he controls with silk!

I'll definitely need to make more characters related to this trading caravan... Maybe a diving bell spider as a water merchant? That'd be neat!

Aptonoth are large, herbivorous, scarab-like creatures somewhat related to the Stags used for urban transit. They can be found in most environments, save for volcanic areas, areas with extreme cold, and near the ocean.

They have two dual-pronged horns on their heads, and large elytron that cover their soft shell. Despite having the hard yet brittle forewings, Aptonoth are flightless, and their wings have evolved into a fan of sorts used solely by herd leaders in courtship and aggression displays.

This monster is typically timid, running away from threats rather than becoming aggressive. In remote and rural areas, Aptonoth are commonly seen bugs of burden.

Aptonoth, as food, are a staple for most carnivorous and hematophagous bugs.

Radiance's redisign - moth of dreams and mind control I combined her original design (from Hollow Knight) with Oltura's (final boss in Monster Hunter Stories 2) I have always thought that, with the Radiance, there was a missed opportunity of using the theme of the eyes on a moth's wings, something that is so easily associated with mind control. The pattern of the irises on the wings recalls the shape of a dreamcatcher, as used in Hollow Knight for "dream particles". I also imagined an older version of her (pink one) before she started abusing her powers and creating the infection.

Soo uhh, here's a random doodle I made in the meantime while i spend like a solid 60+ hours fighting infested boybands on Warframe lol.

Say hello to the Briarcreep, a close relative of the Mosscreep! (As in it's the exact same thing, but with a rose bush)

I had a random idea to make a biome that's like a giant rose garden, but with BUGS. Basically take Queens gardens, but add abunch of roses i guess lol. I'll probably work on making it more interesting later down the line.

2: TIKTIK SUBSPECIES/VARIANTS WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT AGH! I ABSOLUTELY need to start working on writing down some things for the desert Valdran lives in!

It’s been a while since I posted anything with my HK ocs, so I thought it would be fun to draw Beryl with some tiktiks.

Not only is this a bit of propaganda art for the @hk-oc-tournament that I entered Beryl in, but also a bit of worldbuilding, too. I thought that it would be neat if the tiktiks that live in the desert surrounding Spineridge were a bronze colour instead of silverly like you see in Hallownest, evolving this difference in colouration to have better camouflage in the more warm-toned sands.

It’s been nice to get back into drawing – I’ve been pretty busy lately so drawing some cute tiktiks was just the break I needed.

Soooo.... I got distracted from drawing things like Hollowlanders cuz of Monster hunter wilds, whoopsies. But can ya blame me? IT'S A FUN GAME AND I'VE NEARLY GOT 100 HOURS IN ALREADY!

*ahem* Anyhow, i think I'm ready to start drawing again, preferably Hollowlanders cuz i find em fun and somewhat challenging. (looking at you, Water Skylanders) And you figured it'd be a good idea to maybe take some requests for some of them! Plus it'd be a way to get some ideas for how I'd draw some Skylanders for this whole Hollowlanders thing, cuz some of these guys...IDK what to do LMAO (looking at you, Gill grunt and Echo, curse my idea to make all the water element Skylanders be based off aquatic things like crabs lobsters and dragonflies.)

BEHOLD, THE COMPLETED BESTIARY OF MY WORLDBUILDING SETTING! (Well, the base of it specifically.)

It was made by my good friend @jiffy-jeff, who went above and beyond on this design! It'll be wonderful to write about the different creatures of the Pale Earth, and their ecology in a more informative way. (Plus style points lol)

Only thing left to do for it is make an icon for most of the creatures, habitat icons, and a symbol for the equivalent of a Hunter's guild for this setting.

Oh, and here's a little "behind the scenes look at the Bestiary before it was finished, obviously made by Jeff. Plus it also helps show off where everything is since the finished one is just a blank template.

I can't wait to start flexing my worldbuilding skills with creatures and ecology again. Been way too long.

Got another Hollowlander drawing somewhat done, so it's time to show it off! This time we've got a Sensei from Imaginators, that being King Pen! (Ironically the only Skylanders game i never played sadly)

I loosely based him off of Giant water bugs since... y'know, WATER. That and the fact they're cool looking, and have them big ol' claws for hunting prey.

Not sure exactly what kinda lore he'd have, but oh well, that's stuff to think about later.

I'm not the only person drawing Hollowlanders! One of my friends (who'll I'll just call Chomper for now since that's part of his username on discord 'n stuff) also drew someone!

....Specifically Wham-Shell! He's still good ol' reliable crab man with a mace, but now it's a....macecrab? (Y'know... cuz he's a crab...and lives in the ocean..)

Btw, Chomper doesn't got any socials rn, so make sure to leave some comments to let him know you like his art! He's one of the best artists i know, and helped get me into digital drawing!

Welp, it's official, im on a Skylanders nostalgia trip, so Imma abunch of em in Hollow knight style! Next one on the list is one of my very first Skylanders from Spyro's Adventure, that being Whirlwind!

I decided to make her the child of a moth higher being of the sky and clouds and a mortal beetle they fell in love with, making Whirlwind a Demigod similar to Hornet! (The beetle specifically is why she has the horn if it wasn't obvious) I also took some inspiration from her awakened form in Ring of Heroes so she'd have a cool helmet.

I wonder if i should make this a little art series i do, kinda like @upsidedownsmore's Hollowframe series, (check it out if you haven't, it's great and one of my main inspirations for getting into drawing.) Would i call it "Hollowlanders"? That does sound kinda cool...
