Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals, we have our answer:
This scene is killing me!!! Does Crowley respond "we don't dance" like it says in subtitles or "you don't dance"? The subtitles for episode 5 are terrible and I keep hearing "you".
I want Archangel Aziraphale to do terrible things (like going against the Geneva Convention level attrocities) all in order to realize that Heaven is not in fact “the side of good”. I want this genderless ethereal being man to have to actively put the earth and those he loves in harms way by orchestrating the Second Coming. I want him to yell at someone who doesn’t deserve it. I want him to have to send an angel to hell. I want him to realize why Crowley hates Heaven so much. I want him to hate Heaven more than Crowley (if that’s even possible).

My sister went through all the stages of grief with this finale (as I suspected she would). She yelled at Aziraphale (for being an idiot), then an at me (for making her watch it) and finally at Neil Gaiman (because I told her it was his fault sorry for ratting you out Mr. Gaiman).
It was glorious. I highly recommend sharing the pain of this season with friends and family.
I've been forcing my sister to watch Good Omens season 2, she is so invested in the little gay men. We watch episode 6 today. She knows nothing.
This mf was definitely planning on Aziraphale and Crowley falling out over the whole promotion thing. Besides the whole thing coming out of nowhere, it also intentionally pits them against each other.
When The Metatron introduces the idea to Aziraphale, he uses a few clever tactics to get Azi on board:
He brings Aziraphale a coffee (I'm don't completely agree with the coffee theory, but the coffee is still important).
He compliments Aziraphale and tells him that he is the only angel for the job.
He makes the ability to make Crowley an angel again the main selling point.
These first two tactics are love bombing. With gifts and flattery he builds trust with Aziraphale and paints himself as good person, the kind that Aziraphale still idolizes and wants to be. But by bringing Crowley into this, Azi is seemingly about to get everything he has ever wanted (I mean look how giddy Azi gets when he tells Crowley the "good" news).
While Aziraphale is so distracted by his own excitement to realize Crowley would hate this plan, The Metatron has already anticipated his reaction. He also knows that Crowley will turn the offer down because:
"...he always did want to go his own way".
We have a MAJOR manipulator on our hands.
The whole purpose in choosing Aziraphale to replace Gabriel is to break him and Crowley up, because they are stronger together. I mean they stopped Armageddon and performed a massive miracle together with seemingly little effort and The Metatron noticed. This is intentional. Probably a little personal too.
This picture has me absolutely feral. The glasses, the hat, it's all so perfect👌. Forgive me for the person I will be when this season drops next week.
Crowley buys books for Aziraphale, but always manages to buy ones he already has. Aziraphale keeps these books in the back for extra safe keeping.
Aziraphale has poor circulation so his hands are always freezing cold. Crowley complains about his ice cold hands constantly, but secretly adores them.
Exorcisms don't actually work on demons at all. They just get bored and leave.
Aziraphale is horrendous at cooking, the few times he tried he almost burned down the bookshop. He sticks to making just cocoa now.
Agnes Nutter knew that Anathema would burn the second book of prophecies, in fact she left most of the pages blank, knowing they'd never be seen.
Crowley loves reality TV. Aziraphale keeps telling him that it's all scripted, but Crowley loves all the drama that humans stir up.
Neither of the ineffable husbands have any idea how computers work.
Newton and Anathema like to go on quiet walks through the village, but Newton has severe hay fever so the walks don't last long.
Guys...it's literally raining hearts in the opening. We are in for a treat.
Here you go. The Good Omens S2 Episode 1 title sequence, by Peter Anderson Studios, music by David Arnold. We warned you it was madder than the S1 titles, and it is. I think it's really good.
Just remembered this clue for season 2 of Good Omens, while reading the book and stumbled across this passage. My bet is it is a reference to Crowley’s alphabetized music. But I guess we just have to wait and see.
