A one shot ~ Anniversary

Chris walks around awaiting for MC to get dressed. Today was their anniversary. Chris feels around his pockets looking at the clock above their bed.

"Honey you almost done?" Chris asks.

MC looks around the ice and sees the nobles falling all around her. She hold in her laughter as she watches Kiara slide across the ice on her stomach. A blur goes past her face “What?” The blur comes from the left then Hana’s smiling face stops in front of her.

“Looks like Olivia stole Liam from you”

Olivia claps her hands to get everyone’s attention “It’s time to head to my spectacular lodge to warm up!”

Drakes nods “Thanks for the race I had fun”

MC grins “You’re not as bad as you seem”

Drake chuckles “You’re getting soft on me Brooks”

They head back to the lodge with Maxwell and Hana they sit by the fire sipping a mug of hot coco

Maxwell smiles “Did you have fun today MC”

MC grins “Today was super fun now it’s time for hot chocolate”

Hana grins “This is wonderful just look at the little marshmallows shaped like hearts”

Drake rolls his eyes “Yes just adorable”

Maxwell looks over “Watch out we’ve got incoming”

MC sighs as Olivia struts in “Well hello my dear guests hope you’re enjoying my spectacular hosting”

MC plasters on a smile “Oh it’s wonderful” She mutters under her breath Not

Maxwell nods “I always enjoy my time here with you Olivia”

Drake doesn’t look up “It’s something”

Olivia narrows her eyes at him “Did you see that we had eclairs Drake they always remind me of dear darling little Savannah She’d gobble it down like a saw through”

Drake frowns “Don’t talk about my sister”

“Why ever not she was such a fixture at court then she up and disappeared you never told us what happened to her and usually gossip is quick to spread”

“She left cause of people like you”

Olivia sighs “She was always a sensitive sort” She grins “Ladies like that don’t last long here”

Drake sets down his mug “You know what I just remembered something I’ve got somewhere I need to be excuse me”

He walks towards the door

Olivia tries to hold in her laughter “Oh wait Drake dear I wasn’t finished talking to you!”

MC sets down her mug I’m so sick of this bitch She stands then pushes Olivia out the door

“What are you doing?! How dare you touch me?! You commoner! You” MC slams the door in her face

Maxwell laughs “Never seen anyone who had the guts to do that!”

“Someone had to get rid of her”

The Press Secretary Part 12

Summary: Chris the mayor of town is married to his wife Becca. When he hires a new press secretary who happens to be his lost love old feelings resurface and Chris finds it hard to resist the desire he once had for her

Chris sighs as he walks down the street his jaw clenched Ugh I’m so sick of her I regret the day I even married her His phone rings in his pocket and he pulls it out and frowns at the caller id Great just what I need “Hello?”

“Chris! Becca just told me everything! How dare you sleep with another girl?!”

“Mr. Davenport…”

“Come over to the house and you better have a good explanation for this!” The call clicks off

Chris sighs Ugh he’s even worse than Becca Chris calls for an Uber and heads over to the house

Emily sat in her living room she sighs I feel bad I shouldn’t have done that while he was still with her and his wife is powerful I probably messed up his entire mayor election She sighs Maybe I should end things with him to avoid a scandal but I can’t do that to him I love Chris I want to be with him I don’t know what to do

Chris walks to the house and knocks on the door the door slowly opens and the scowling face of Becca’s father appears “Come inside and we’re gonna discuss this”

Chris sighs and heads in he walks into the living room and turns to face him

He pours himself some scotch “Now what did you do to my daughter?”

Chris sighs “I’m sure she told you already”

“I want to hear it from you”

“I’ve been sleeping with my press secretary for a couple of months now”

He takes a sip “Why?”

“I’ve had feelings for her since college I know I shouldn’t have done it while I was with Becca”

“You’re damn right you shouldn’t have!” He walks up to him “She told me about you wanting to divorce her”

“Sir I’ve had that way before I was sleeping with her me and Becca can’t be compatible we fight all the time”

“You can’t divorce now everything we’ve built up together to get you to where you are today”

Chris rolls his eyes “Yeah I know you and Becca have been holding that over my head for so many years”

“Because it’s true you need the two of us to make you mayor again if you listen to us”

“I’m sick of this! I don’t need either of you!”

“Chris we made you and you think you can get far without my connections and all the help we’ve given us you’re nothing without us!”

“I rather be nothing than be your pawn I want nothing to do with the two of you!” Chris walks to the door

“You walk out that door and I’ll expose you you’re not gonna win the election you’ll be on the streets or working at a convenience store!”

“That’s just fine with me!” Chris slams the door “Jerk” He runs his hands through his hair “I don’t care anymore even if I don’t win I can still be with Emily that’s all that matters to me”

Emily sighs as she looks at her phone Nothing yet please let Chris be alright There’s a knock on her door and Emily goes to answer it she smiles “Chris”

“Hi”

She steps aside to let him in “What happened? I’ve been worried about you”

“Well Becca ruined my stuff and both her and her dad threatened to ruin my campaign”

“Oh Chris I’m sorry I didn’t mean to”

Chris smiles “Hey look at me it’s worth it long as I have you it’s worth it nothing is your fault don’t feel bad let them do their worse”

“You sure Chris?

“Positive I love you Emily”

Emily smiles “I love you too Chris”

He kisses her deeply then pulls away “Now I know I have to leave the house do you mind if I stay here for a while I need to find an apartment”

Emily smiles “Of course and I’ll help you out”

“Thanks Em you’re the best”

Chris’s phone buzzes in his pocket he frowns as he looks at it “Great”

“What happened?”

Chris hands her the phone “They’ve already started”

Emily looks at the article headline

Chris pulls into his driveway he sighed as he put his car in park "Another day of dealing with those teens really hope they don't kill each other before the game" He chuckles to himself as he gets out his car.

He walks into the house and he's hit with a an amazing smell he grins "Something smells amazing" He drops his clipboard then walks into the kitchen he smiles when he sees his wife MC in the kitchen washing the dishes. He walks up behind her and wraps his arms around her "Hey you"

She smiles "Hi Chris welcome back"

"You making your muffins what's the occasion?"

"Just wanted to surprise my husband"

Chris smiles "I love you baby thank you" he kisses her cheek

Apples

MC gets out the truck and grabs the basket of apples then heads into the house. She drops them into the sink and begins washing them

"You got the apples great"

She smiles as she sees her husband Sawyer "Yup what are you doing with these?"

"So many things you can do with these" He grabs one and takes a bite "Especially with one as sweet as these one apple pie coming up"

MC laughs "How about something other than apple pie?"

Sawyer raises an eyebrow "What's better than my apple pie?"

"My apple tarts"

Sawyer smirks "Naw the judges will love mine better"

"We'll see about that!" MC throws the dish towel at him as he laughs "Everyone's gonna love mine and you'll be eating my dust" MC walks towards the door "Now I'm going over to Juilette's I don't want you sabotaging me"

Sawyer laughs "I don't need to baby I'll win without it" She reaches for the apple but Sawyer pulls them away "And these are mine"

"I picked them"

"But you brought them to my kitchen"

"Fine keep the apples I still got more or I can use Juliette's peaches"

"That's not fair!"

MC playfully sticks out her tongue as she walks out the door giggling
