Prompt 8 - #picturebooks
I was sitting on my bed, searching for #picturebooks on Tumblr, I came across a plethora of old, new and upcoming #picturebooks all appeared. I was pondering at the extensive amount of #picturebooks that existed in todays’ world. Within the search, I saw a plethora of #picturebooks that I haven’t read before but looked interesting. I did some research on some of the #picturebooks that caught my eyes and many of them looked very interesting that I could use these #picturebooks in my future teachings in schools. Many of the reviews came from their personal books that they have written or read and they wrote a review about the book. I came across a #picturebooks that dated back before I was born. I saw #picturebooks that were very familiar such like the Dr. Suess series, Todd Parr series and other #picturebooks that I remember that I saw throughout my placement.Â
Overall, the first thing thing that captured my eyes was the colourful Dr. Suess book that is called ‘Oh, the Places You’ll go’. This #picturebook is colourful and the illustration is unique. this #picturebook delves into how the protagonist explores and visits places through discovering new places around his town.Â

Prompt 7 - Education Resources for schools teachers and students - ABC EDUCATION
I was searching through the activities, books and videos relating to the history of the Aborigines, and I came across a digibook about ‘Righting wrongs in the 1967 referendum’. This book that I chose captured my eyes and I wanted to know more about the Referendum in the 1967. This digibook is aimed for year 6 students and talking about the history of the civics and rights of the Torres Strait Islanders and the Indigenous Australians. This resource is very useful for year 6 students because it provides detailed information about the history of the democracy issues of the Indigenous Australians and each chapter talks about a certain topic relating to the Indigenous Australians and how they came to Australia and they claimed the land we are on today. Each chapter has a powerful images or videos that shows and links back to the Indigenous Australians about their rights and civic laws. I believe as a future teacher, reading this digibook to the class each Inquiry lessons will definitely give the student an insight of the history that the Indigenous Australians had been through and what allowed them to claim the land we are on today, and getting the students to understand that it’s not easy to have rights in a democratic world.

Prompt 6 - Australian College of Educators DebateÂ
Here is the RAN table with the notes and ideas about the debate whether which is best for students to learn first, phonics or meaning when reading a picture book. This table talks about the things I knew about whilst watching the video, the things that had misconceptions through both debates and the ideas that I just learn in watching the video and finally the questions that I pondered whilst watching both debates. Finally, I believe that to be able to read a book we need to know the phonics of a word to get the meaning of the whole sentence that is presented to us in the book.Â

Prompt 4 - Placement Reflection
I had an amazing time at my bilingual placement school. The school was small and contained and the staff were all so very friendly. The positive experience that I had was that I got to experience teaching at year 3&4 classroom and a year 2 classroom. They were very different in their learning styles. The recent placement at a year 2 classroom, I got to see students reading every morning after their morning duties. The students read for 10 minutes straight. Majority of the students in year 2 read chapter books that were recommended by their teacher and once they read a chapter or so, they have to record it in their readers book to indicate how many pages or chapters they read every day at school and at home. This was a different learning experience for me. There was no negative experience in my two weeks at placement.Â
Every Tuesday, in my placement school the year 2 students did guide reading with an adult and SRA a comprehension test which they do individually. This enables and helps the students with their reading and comprehension skills in the classroom.Â

PROMPT TWO
This poster represents the reading strategies that can be used in the classroom in all year levels. The 'reading strategies' enables and guides students in their understanding of their chosen text when reading through guided reading or independent reading. This poster makes the connection between each stem of thinking and it helps the students think about their chosen book and understanding the book effectively. In my classroom, I will definitely implement this and guide each student in the reading to further develop their thinking skills and strategies. @ecl310deakin

Prompt One
When I was at the age of 8 years old, my dad would read me ‘The Spot’ series before dinner and before sleep. It became a tradition and I got used to someone special reading to me before dinner and bedtime. I loved it as it was soothing to hear vocabulary and sentences which I can remember and also it wasn’t the same book over again but a different book every day. Thinking back to those amazing memories, I wish I had someone reading a book that I love now before dinner and before sleep. @ecl310deakin
