I haven't seen Thunderbolts yet but am I the only person that gets the same vibes from Terra Kingdom Hearts and John Walker? (In a good way, of course.)

I made this mashup of Emiya (From Fate) and Fate of the Unknown (From Kingdom Hearts) for YouTube, but it kept getting blocked because apparently Emiya is really heavily guarded for copyright even though I got the audio from an unofficial YouTube channel. Anyways I tried to rework it a couple of times to get it through but no dice. Figured I'd post it here instead because I'm not letting all that work go to waste.

Thinking about how Ardyn's battle quote "So you are a chosen king, but you are a second choice at best." from FF15 correlates to Sora Kingdom Hearts.

Normally when it comes to things like favorites, I get really scatterbrained, prone to recency bias, and am unable to nail down concrete placements for things. I've had a moment of clarity, so here's my top 5 characters in all of fiction.
1) Snow Villiers (Final Fantasy XIII)

Snow's just super relatable to me. He's always optimistic that everything will work out and even when things don't, he tries to stay hopeful and keep moving forward. Some people tend to think that makes him naive and immature, or that he's not taking accountability for his mistakes but it sure beats getting depressed and giving up.
2) Wolfgang Grimmer (Monster)

Grimmer is such an interesting character in this series of absolutes. So many characters are either psychopaths or the nicest person ever. Grimmer doesn't fit into your boxes. He's the world's most laid back guy until he isn't, but even then his unlaidbackness is used for good. He grew up so similarly to the worst people in the series but despite not really getting how emotions work, he choses to try and do the right thing everytime.
3) EMIYA (Fate Unlimited Blade Works)

Self-Loathing and the best plot twist I've ever seen! I know there's got to be more to my reasoning than that, yet for some reason, this one is the hardest to put into words, so FOR NOW I'll just say that he's really cool.
4) Ardyn _____ ______ ( Final Fantasy XV)

Charisma. Ardyn is charisma the character. That's very much thanks to Darren De Paul. He's just really likeable on the surface but once you look into his backstory its even better, because he's not even a bad guy. His hand was kind of forced and he was the best of dudes until he literally got blackmailed into being a villain. The Savior of the World being forced to be evil is pretty interesting as a concept. I dig it.
5) Shinji Hirako (Bleach)

It's hard being a Shinji fan sometimes because as cool as he is, the two things he doesn't get are wins and screen time. I love the duality of Shinji. He's often seen being his usual goofy self, but when things get serious Shinji turns sinister really quick. Being the first person to be suspicious of Aizen and the first to injure him is very cool. Shinji has a vibe to him that I haven't felt anywhere else, and I just think he's neat.

Aqua's still cool, but I just realized the irony of her turning down help in fights multiple times to prove how strong she is, when Eraqus and half the fanbase say Terra is obsessed with strength and proving himself.

You know, 3 years ago I had barely played any Final Fantasy but had watched 90% of the Disney content in Kingdom Hearts. Despite this, I was one of the people hopeful that the series would move away from the Disney content in the future.
Ironically enough, I have since played a majority of the Final Fantasy games referenced in Kingdom Hearts, yet I have come to the conclusion that Kingdom Hearts NEEDS neither Disney nor Final Fantasy but both benefits and suffers from both.
No matter what they do, you're going to have Final Fantasy fans complaining that the Disney Worlds are filler or start laughing and saying that they can't take it seriously whenever Mickey or Donald show up and do something actually cool.
There will also be Disney fans that are only playing for the fun cameos, don't pay attention to the plot and are therefore confused. Oddly enough all of this comes together in an interesting way if you consider a major theme being the balance of light and darkness.
The optimal way to enjoy Kingdom Hearts is to accept both sides of the coin, which is very fitting for the themes put forth in the series.

Today I feel like shouting out some of my favorite Kingdom Hearts YouTube videos that don't have nearly as many views as they deserve, so that's what I'm gonna do.

Happy 15th Birthday to 358/2 Days!
Looks rough because I'm no artist in the first place, but it's also not finished. I just got tired of working on it🤷🏼♂️. Might finish someday
(Brownie points to anyone who recognizes the reference for this. I'll give you a hint. It's a certain anime movie poster)

Just realized that Magnifico reminds me so much of Ironwood. RWBY and Disney really both made a villain so well-written, relatable and charismatic, that people went into denial, started turning a blind eye to their faults, hating on the story, and siding with the villain even after they turned out to be control freaks that went from well-intentioned (or at least believing themselves to be) to unhinged. They even both have songs that literally say they're willing to do ANYTHING to protect their kingdom and that winds up being a bad thing.
Look, I agree with Tsukasa from Dr. Stone, but I'm not gonna go around hating on Senku or the series as a whole because of that.
It's worth noting that I feel that Ironwood is a much better person than Magnifico since he does really care about others and isn't just in it for power and recognition, but they do remind me of each other.

Just watched Wish for the first time and honestly don't get the hate that I heard about this movie.
People seriously didn't like the art style? Any frame of the movie could be a painting!
The premise was super interesting and the villain was understandable and charismatic but very much still a villain. Not granting every single wish is understandable but keeping the ones he wasn't going to grant and the way he flies off the handle when he's not entirely in control makes his rule more of a dictatorship than a monarchy and we all know that dictatorships tend to not be for the people's best interest.
Also, really enjoyed little goat guy. They didn't give Alan Tudyk a lot of lines but most of the ones he did have had me at least grinning. Mostly because he's just doing his Clayface voice in this movie and I really enjoyed his Clayface in the Harley Quinn show.
The two complaints I could possibly pose is that the rhyming on some of the songs was off and some of the nods to other Disney movies were kind of underwhelming if you are expecting a big payoff to them. I think the movie would have been a bit better without them. Other than that it was pretty excellent!

Haven't played either of the Hades games but this recent Aphrodite character design controversy kind of got me thinking about something. I'm not going to share my personal opinion on the design but I have seen people pointing out that editing someone's art and saying that you "fixed it" is rude and disrespectful and I would be inclined to agree somewhat.
The question is, what is the difference between changing someone's art and saying you fixed it and changing someone's story and saying you fixed it? Back when Kingdom Hearts 3 released people thought they could write it better and were doing all sorts of rewrites to "fix" the story. That's disrespectful too! Storytelling is a form of art.

A strange observation that I've made is that gamers seem to think they know how to run businesses moreso than other entertainment communities. Rarely will you see animation fans or movie buffs discussing corporate politics from their favorite companies, but people who play video games will immediately tell you that such and such company should do this, this, this, and this in order to be successful. What's up with that?
