On the topic of Adaine... she IS going to die eventually. I know theres a really common really depressing trope in FH related things, which is that Adaine will continue living forever, watching all her friends die. This is a really really interesting idea, btw, and I'm not knocking anyone who plays around with it, cause it's often REALLY cool! (And also I could be missing something, bc with the whole forest of the nightmare king thing we might have conflicting info on this.)

However, in Freshman year when the bad kids meet the past oracle, she does say "all oracles must die" or something to that effect (affect? Affect is a verb, right?), so I'm pretty sure it's canon that Adaine, bc she's the oracle, is going to die at some point. (Which is kinda a shit deal imo but it's okay). Also she'd probably permanently die in battle at some point, but we already know that.

God forbid a woman do ANYTHING. God forbid a woman has fun with her sexuality while shes young! God forbid a woman who is known for her more scandalous songs makes a fun album cover! God fucking forbid a woman posts a quick video explaining she doesn't support trump or ICE! God forbid a woman speaks up! God forbid a woman stays quiet! God for-fucking-bid a woman exists in the public eye, or is perceived at all.

God forbid a woman exists in a way that doesnt represent every single other woman. You have to be sex positive! But oh my god you have young fans!!! Don't pose like that! It isn't a reflection of ME and MY life! People obviously equate what you do to what every woman wants, and that's entirely YOUR fault!!! Why spend my precious time educating the minority of people when you could just sit still and be quiet.

God forbid a woman wants to clarify something in a quick video! Because thats SOOOO much different than putting "I don't support trump" in your bio, right??? I mean yeah everyone is attacking you because they misconstrued an earlier statement about how you don't like stuff both candidates are doing, and CLEARLY that means theyre both equally evil, but come on!! You should post a ten minute dissertation on your politics, even if you have trouble putting it into words and it's a deeply emotional topic! And also, CLEARLY when you, an artist who is famous for QUEER POP, said "people like us" while gay people are under attack, you meant people with little money!!! And how dare YOU, someone who had very little money a few years ago, say THAT!!! I mean, you could've just sat still and been quiet.

Chat I fear I have the best friend ever.

So it was my birthday somewhat recently, and my pookie who lives a few states away sent me mail that just got here. Some important info; my friend has never watched d20, has never played DND, and has only heard about fantasy high through my incessant ramblings about it over discord.

Well, they sent me a couple things. One of those fuzzy worms, a bracelet, and 2 letters. On the back of one of the letters was this;

My ✨️official✨️ rant on Kipperlilly Copperkettle in relation to the bad kids and rat grinders:

WILDLY unpopular opinion, the bad kids/intrepid heroes were correct in leaving her dead, both narratively and morally.

OKAY hear me out PLEASE! I LOVE Kipperlilly's character. Imo, she's VERY well written and crafted. I also don't necessarily believe she's evil, or unfixable, or anything like that. I won't say she's a good person, because she isn't, but she's also not definitively a bad one. I actually got attatched to her too. So... why on earth would I think she should be left for dead? Well... there's a few reasons.

1. She is not trustworthy.

2. She isn't a good person, just a good character

3. It wouldn't make any sense story-telling-wise.

Let me elaborate:

1: Kipperlilly was SHOWN to be untrustworthy. She didn't have a rage star in her chest like the others. She chose to have the rune in her chest without the alternative literally being death. Every other rat grinder had a horrible, horrible choice to make; save your soul or your life. Lucy chose to save her soul, her essence, her innocence. In the words of (I think Ruben?) Lucy "stuck to her guns". The others chose to save their lives. To go back to loved ones, each other. I don't think either choice was wrong, really. These are kids who had never faced the possibility of death, and may have been the only ones in their grade to never do so. When confronted with it for the first time, it was a lose-lose. They didn't know what would happen when they came back, didn't know the extent of the rage stars or what they'd be made to do. Kipperlilly never had this choice to make. Don't worry, I'll address the fact that she was being manipulated by an adult. Kipperlilly was angry from the start. I'm almost positive that, with what the bad kids learned after stealing her file, she didn't always have that rune in her chest. She got it later in her time at Aguefort, evidenced by the fact that Brennan says there's a notable switch in what she's saying about the bad kids- "it's not fair" to "I hate them". Anger issues and jealousy OBVIOUSLY don't condemn someone to death, but that isn't all. She either murdered Lucy or let her get murdered. Lucy, her BEST FRIEND. Think about what could make you kill your best friend, because I'm willing to bet it's next to nothing. Even though she was being manipulated and groomed, she did kill Lucy/let her die for power.

TLDR P1: There's no evidence that Kipperlilly would be different had they resurrected her. With all that the bad kids have seen, they just can't risk that.

2: This is a BIG problem in I think every fandom: Kipperlilly is not a GOOD person, she's a COMPELLING one. She is not a morally good character, she's a deeply interesting one. I don't hate her, please don't get me wrong. And like I said, I don't think she's a bad person necessarily. But I do worry that a lot of the reason there's so much defense for her is that people like her and so they want to convince themselves she's perfect. No character is perfect, that would make them SO boring. Kipperlilly isn't perfect by ANY means. I don't want to make it sound like shes remorse-less either, because we don't know that. I'm sure she felt IMMENSE guilt for Lucy, but an apology or feeling awful about something like that doesn't change that you did it.

TLDR P2: A lot of things defending her may come from the fact that she's a compelling character, rather than a good person.

3: Okay, final part! Pretty much the reason I'm even making this post is to defend the bad kids/intrepid heroes, because some people think that they were cruel for not bringing her back. Here's the thing, narratively, it would've made zero sense for them to revive her. They seemed a bit loathe to even bring the others back, considering all they went through. Kipperlilly was not only more concious for what she was doing, but she also pretty much voluntarily did it. Heres the thing- she WAS technically manipulated and practically groomed by Porter, which is why I don't want to say she herself was evil. I agree that she was a kid being used. That doesn't mean everything she did is excuseable, though. Kipperlilly wasn't loyal to the one person (we know of) who cared about her. Not to mention she was literally jealous of the bad kids TRAUMA. She was a traumatized kid, sure, but... so were the bad kids. BY shit she did. My final point (promise 😭) is that it's cruel to blame the bad kids for not reviving her. She was trying to kill them, and just like in every other battle, they had to protect themselves and the world. What evidence did they have that she wasn't going to be evil when she was brought back? That she wouldn't do it all again? Buddy clearly is working with Kalina, do we REALLY think that Kipperlilly wouldn't too? Narratively, it wouldn't have been a satisfying ending. They brought the other rat grinders back because the rage stars would be gone. It was akward, sure, but they had reason to trust them. Could you imagine how it would've gone with Kipperlilly if they'd saved her? "Hey, I know you chose to work for evil... but you probably won't do it again!". Okay, I'm being so dramatic but you get my point 😭. I adore fan work (whether fanfic/fanart) where Kipperlilly IS good, where things are different and she's redeemable. This is NOT a post meant to hate on those works, because I love them and they're amazing!!! I just don't like when people call the bad kids evil for not bringing back someone who was responsible for a LOT of evil, and could likely cause a lot more. Imo, Kipperlilly being brought back just wouldn't have been a satisfying ending within the story we were given.

TLDR P3: Keep making fan works where Kipperlilly is good/saved!!! I love reading/viewing them, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with making them! I just think that in the story we're presented with, letting her remain dead was the kindest and most sensible ending.

I REALLY hope this doesn't come across as mean or passive aggressive, because I fucking adore this fandom (and honestly adore Kipperlilly too!). I'm so so sorry this ended up being so long 😔. If anyone actually read the whole thing tysm! I'm really sorry if the conclusion I reached wasn't satisfying to you, and I'm always up for a (civil 😭) discussion about her!

So I've seen people who aren't from the US interact with my blog before, and for anyone wondering how bad the school shooting problem actually is here, this is a list of REAL THINGS that have happened at schools I've been at.

1. We have automatically locking classroom doors. These doors have a magnet that block them from closing, which says on it that during a lockdown/code red (aka a shooting), it should be removed for a quick way to lock the doors.

2. Teachers have had to designate certain roles to certain kids in case of a shooting. Two kids move a bookcase against the door, and the rest go and grab gardening supplies (shovels, hoes, etc) to protect us.

3. We have signs on classroom doors that have a "hide, run, fight" protocol on them. I'm a little sick to my stomach whenever I read them, because what they instruct you to do is literally hide if someone gets in, if you can't do that run from them, and if you can't do either of those, fight the intruder to the death.

4. I've been explicitly told that in the case of an ACTUAL shooting, do not follow school protocol. In my tiny school (6 classrooms), I would have such a small chance of not being found. Instead, I've been told to make a break for it the second we get the announcement, run to a nearby house, and tell the person "there's a shooter at my school, can you please let me in?"

5. My friend and I had to make a pact that, in the case of a shooting, the last thing we would think of was a specific song that made us both cry (Til Forever Falls Apart, if you were wondering)

6. I've been told by a teacher that we are not allowed to contact our parents in the case of a shooting. No last "I love you" text. This is so that parents won't try and get to the school and accidentally distract the police from doing their job.

7. Because of #6, I keep a small bag in my backpack. This bag has a mask in it so I can try and keep blood out of my mouth, essential oils so that I can focus on a strong scent, a small and silent fidget toy so I won't cry and make noise, and a note saying "I love you" followed by the names of everyone I love.

I can't find the picture I took of the "hide run fight" sign, so that one is from google, but the other 2 are pictures I TOOK.

"Made in the U.S.A" because of course it was. Where else is there a need for these signs. We are mad, yes, but we are mostly terrified.

At my school we have these posters on the paper towel dispensers. Just regular shit, like "wash your hands for 20 seconds to stop the spread of the flu!", but one of these posters is a little different. At first glance, it's a pretty normal sign, telling you the symptoms of different ailments and when it's okay to return to school.

Did you catch it? Because no teacher, supervisor, or county official has, and it took my friends and I about a year. Let me zoom in to help

I feel like there's this big misconception that gets spread when someone who will become a dictator, participate in genocide, or other morally awful things is ELECTED into power. There is this assumption that, because the majority of people in this country were complicit, all people in this country were complicit. That is not true. We are as-if not more- scared and broken as people who have to watch this from the outside. I want, for the sake of hope in humanity, history to remember that there are those in this situation who did everything in their power to stop this from happening.

I hope history remembers that we did try, and we will keep trying. Until he is out of office for good or until we are dead, so many of us will keep fighting.

But what else is there? Well, I'm an American. I am a queer American, specifically an asexual lesbian. I am too young to vote and I live in the south. I am scared. The chances of us winning are slim to none in this election. He has 267 electoral votes as I write this. He needs 270 to win.

I am scared shitless. I do not have faith in my country. In my state. I was promised the "American Dream" when I was born, and I have watched that dream die every single day under his, under trump's, influence.

I am scared of being killed. In school, for being queer, for being a woman. I am scared for my friends who aren't white. I am scared in every single cell of my body. I am scared in the way that a rabbit is when it sees the shadow of a hawk. I am scared in a visceral, animalistic way. And I am not dramatizing or catastrophizing. I have watched this man say that he will close borders and deport every single illegal immigrant, even if that means legal immigrants are caught up in it. I have watched him say the most demeaning, psychotic shit to women because he knows he can get away with it. I am scared for my life and the lives of my friends.
