Shang wasn’t always the strict guy he is today. Believe it or not, he was a guy who smiled, went out to clubs,talked to friends….even had a girlfriend. But everything changed when his fiance left him. His family very much believed in the tradition of an arranged marriage so when he turned eighteen, he was ready to be set with a match by the town’s matchmaker. He was set up with a lovely girl but the night they were supposed marry she backed out. Her reason? She didn’t even know him, and more importantly didn’t love him. He respected her decision even though he didn’t understand it and let let her go. Shang’s parents were highly disappointed so therefore he was sent to Elias and Flora to set his mind straight. Shang is extremely focused on school work, MMA and making sure his social life isn’t so cluttered. After what happened he spends a lot of time thinking about this “love” concept and has adopted the theory that it’s impossible for someone to be forced to love, so the only logical explanation would be to find someone who appealed to you, talk to them and then fall in love. The only problem with this theory? Shang’s too afraid to talk to another girl because he might fall in love with them but they won’t love him back.

He likes to have a lot of guy friends so girls do not distract him but he could help but let Mulan Fa into his “bro” circle. She’s funny, pretty but acts like a complete guy making her the perfect person to talk to about sports and things of that nature. Mushu is his best guy friend even though he’s always pushing him to date people he really has no interest in. It’s rare for Shang to let loose, but he has his moments especially when Mushu drags him to a party. He’s known as the “party drunk” aka standing on tables, singing karaoke and dancing (if you can call it that). he will threaten to beat you though if you say you’ll post pictures, so heed his warning because this kid is not one to be messed with.
