My first reading in a long while. I’m trying to start to get back into a magical practice. Have been focusing on other more material things lately, but I’ve been missing having magic be a part of my life. Standard 4 card quicko divination: 1. Situation 2. Challenge 3. Advise 4. Result I must admit my heart sank a little when I turned these cards over. 3 reversed and then culminating in The Tower? Wow. But now doing some reading up I’m actually feeling this is a pretty darn accurate reading and also one filled with a lot of hope for the future. The Situation card: reversed Judgement. This reflects my own self-doubt. Earlier in the week I cast a spell for the success of a project I’ve been working on for many months now. This card for sure has the meaning of showing me my own insecurities about the the project’s success. Even though I understand these kinds of thoughts of doubt are normal, I think I’ve been trying to suppress them, yet here they are rearing their ugly head through the cards, lol. The challenge card: reversed Page of Pentacles. Here we see the striving for material success, yet coming up short. How to reach the level of success that I want, and that has yet eluded me for other creative undertakings? The advice card: reversed Devil. And what is that advice? Non-attachment. Something that I find to be the most difficult part of the magical process. The release from chains of attachment is very hard yet has such a good result if you can attain it, and on so many different levels; emotional, physical, mental, and material. I’m also reading this card as a way to remind me to get back into my regular meditation practice, something that along with my magical practice has been less of a priority lately. Finally, the result card: The Tower. This shows and impending paradigm shift. I think if I can come to a true understanding (gnosis) of the non-dual nature of the universe then it will really be like a tower, in this case the edifice of popular conception of reality, will have fallen. Well, that is it for now. Wish me luck any wayward readers that might happen upon this little post. Much love ❤️

It’s a strange footnote of history. Something happened in World War II that doesn’t make any sense. Germany never invaded Britain. It seems crazy, considering the scope of the German war machine, and considering that Britain was the primary foe standing in the way of the Nazis’ push for world domination.
What stopped them? Here’s one possibility. Qabalistic magician Dion Fortune organized an extraordinary act of magick to stop the Nazis from touching British soil. She engaged the aid of several prominent magicians of the time, and invoked the ancient spirits pledged to Britain’s protection. The night that Germany’s Operation Sea Lion was due to launch, a cabal of magicians gathered in the New Forest and at the cliffs of Dover to perform a ritual to stop the Nazi invasion.
Might we apply the magickal strategy of Dion Fortune and her colleagues to defend America from the Trumpocalypse?

My best friend just taught me the greatest tarot trick: Is there something in your life that isn’t going your way? Shuffle your cards, sift through them and find the Wheel of Fortune card. The cards found on either side of it are insight into what you need to do to change your circumstances.

The 3 “ations” of Spell Casting
Tumblr media
A handy trick for spells is by remembering these 3 simple steps before casting them: Visualization, Concentration, and Evocation
Visualization- Know what you want. Picture your intention clearly. See it like it already happened, and not like it will happen or is happening. Set it in your mind like a truth.
Concentration-
Focus clearly on your desire through the whole spell. Use tools, symbolism, words, herbs, etc. as anchor points in a way to help focus your energy into your intention.
Evocation-
Pull energy out of yourself, or from forces around you like nature, spirits, gods, magical beings, magical tools, the elements, etc. to power your spell. Actions like chanting, dancing, or drum beats can also be used to build and evoke energy.

A sigil I made today, for something coming up in a few days. Magick takes time to act most of the time, so I've found it best to plan ahead.

My last two readings. Top photo is the most recent. Still sticking with the 4 card method of Situation, Challenge, Advice and Result. I’m not going to get too in depth to these, but I do want to record a couple of things I find interesting.
I’ve been struggling this week to decide between two creative projects. One I’ve been working on for years, though I’m not really sure if it’s going anywhere. I must admit, though, when I’m working on it, it’s still fun. Then there’s this new project, full of energy and possibilities, also quite fun. But I only have so much time, between work, family, friends, yet other more personal projects, etc… Something has got to give somewhere and I’m not sure I can do both. Even the prospect of mentally holding space for both seems daunting.
The cards assuredly reflect this. It’s fascinating to see that Page of Pentacles show up both this morning and yesterday. This page is a representation of new energy for a worldly endeavor. The Situation today is The Chariot, indicating the effort it takes to control these forces in our lives, coupled with the Challenge of the 7 of Swords, displaying my fear that either or both projects will steal parts of my life away from me, away from other work I might need to be doing. The Result of the reversed 7 of Wands shows the heated competition that’s taking place within my mind now on what path I should take.
I find myself still in a state of indecision. The next step will be to try the divination method suggested by the kind and wise @sapphula-divine in response to my query before making up my mind.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I will try out your method. It makes sense to me. Appreciate it!
Divination Methods?
Does anyone know of a good way to divine which creative project to put my energy behind? I’m having a hard time deciding between competing opportunities. A tarot method would be good, since that’s what I’ve been studying, but I’m open to other methods as well.

My readings from the last two days, the top one being the most recent. I've kept to using the same 4 card formula: Situation, Challenge, Advice, Outcome.
As is probably pretty obvious, yesterday when I did the reading I was in a pretty fragile state. I was in the aftermath of the fall of Tower from my last post. The Two of Swords in the Situation slot coupled with the reversed Seven of Cups in the Challenge position indicates a question of what to focus on. The Advice is there in the Five of Cups, to remember that not all the cups are spilt, even if those aren't the ones your currently focussing on. The Result, the reversed Nine of Swords tells me, time will heal all wounds. Even though it feels shitty now, have patience and it will feel better.
Today's reading reflects a more balanced state of mind, though one still feeling the last shockwaves of The Tower. The comined effect of the reversed Ace of Swords next to the Nine of Pentacles, given that they're in the Situation and Challenge slots shows some difficulty in formulating a plan in regards to manifesting material prosperity. The advice I'm taking is to be confident of victory, act as if I've just won a great battle, like I'm riding my horse through the doting throngs as shown by the Six of Wands. In some ways it does really feel that way. The last several days has shown me that magick is a powerful force. Spells do work. This knowledge is a little frightening as well. We are more powerful than we are taught to believe in this society. The realization of this makes me more cautious in my approach to manifestation. It also has the effect of making part of me want to hide from the world, let my intoverted self take over, hence the reversed Queen of Wands. The upright Queen of Wands is outgoing, confident, master of her domain, reversed she is more reticent, cautious, and unsure, and that's how I feel today. But I'm going to keep that image of the victorious lad in the Nine of Wands in my mind, and feel blessed on lessons learned and continued growth.

My most recent reading. Situation, Challenge, Advice, Result. It's times like these that convince me that the universe has a sense of humor. Starting with the 4 of Wands reversed, the situation is unsettled, a symbol of disunion. The Challenge also has a reversed card, The Sun, indicating a lack of illumination, warmth and reason. Next, as advice, the cards give me The Tower. Here is where the humor comes in, and insight as well. A lot of people, myself included, spend tons of energy building up defenses around ourselves. This is a natural thing to do. Life is difficult sometimes and we all learn ways of defending ourselves from the pitfalls and petty destructions of living. But what if the path to gaining the world lay through not building up ever more defenses? What if real power lays in letting those protective towers fall down? Lately I've been reading Dr. Rick Strassman's book, DMT the Spirit Molecule. It's such a fascinating book overall, but the section that I want to refer to here is the chapter on how DMT, for some people, mimics a Near Death Experience. For the volunteers undergoing the DMT studies, the ones who embraced what they thought was their own death had much better psychological results than those who fought against the tide. Life in "normal" states of consciousness is like that too. It's by going through the times when the towers in our lives crumble and fall away that you can manifest the life you want. That last card in the reading, the 2 of Wands, signifies this. It's a discovery of power, of drawing magickal forces out of the world of spirit and manifesting it on our material plane. To do so, let The Tower crumble. One final note of caution. Power can be wielded harmfully or benevolently. Once magickal power is attained, don't become so arrogant and impressed with yourself that you forget to be kind. Don't forget that magic mantra Stan Lee wrote for Spider-Man, with great power comes great responsibility.
