Yesterday I went outside, for the first time in a while. It felt different. Everything feels different now. Somewhere between good and bad. Not too much of either. The trees seemed taller, the buildings duller, the cars louder than they were, two years ago. Two years. It's been two years I think. Two years of everything and everyone changing, but I've stayed the same. I probably haven't. I've probably changed to a great extent too. Maybe I haven't changed at all. Maybe I've changed so much that I didn't even notice. A lot of things have gone unnoticed by me lately, and that seems to be the only thing I've noticed. Days go by all the same. The same routine, or lack thereof. Days turn into weeks, into months and when the year ends I somehow always look back and think ' I've changed so much' but then the new year begins and i realize I haven't changed at all. What is change anyway? And why do i constantly seem to yearn for it? Does it make me feel alive? Or is it to prove to people that i'm growing as a person, that im more sure of myself than i was three months ago. I'll never know. Because i've changed so much by not changing at all.

My Favorite Looks From The Met Gala 2024 (and why) pt.1

When I heard that the dress code for the 2024 Met Gala was ' The Garden Of Time' ( inspired by the story of the same name by J.G. Ballard about a garden where the flowers have the power to turn back time ) I immediately expected to see loads of fairytale inspired floral gowns fill the red carpet. However, most celebrities either don't take the time to properly understand the theme or interpret it in pretty bizarre ways. Some of them did actually manage to get it right according to me. Here's my top 10 looks from the 2024 Met Gala and my ratings with regards to how well they fit the theme and how much I liked the look overall. (these are in no particular order btw)

10. Bad Bunny

Co-host Bad Bunny donned a custom Maison Margiela jacket with matching trousers, custom Tabis and the most noticeable part of the outfit, a medieval inspired hat. This was one of the more on theme looks we saw this year and he looks like he walked right out of ' The Garden Of Time'. Benito is known for his eye catching style so I don't think anyone expected any less.

On theme: 9/10

Overall: 8/10

9.Irina Shayk, Iman Hammam, Anok Yai and Karlie Kloss

I'm counting all their outfits as one look because I think it makes the most sense when it's all put together. Irina Shayk, Iman Hammam, Anok Yai and Karlie Kloss all wore custom Swarovski ensembles, each representing a different element from the garden. Irina Shayk represented 'Air' in a dress made completely out of clear Swarovski crystals. Iman embodied the 'Sun' in a yellow two piece paired with matching ear cuffs and bracelets. Anok Yai stunned in a ombre bodysuit made using 98000 crystals in different shades of blue and a statement necklace, representing 'Water'. Karlie Kloss represented the flowers in the garden with a dress embellished in baby pink crystals and 3D flowers (this was my favorite look of the four). I think the whole concept of each of them representing an element was pretty well thought of and the intricate crystal outfits were very fitting with the theme, but Karlie's outfit was the only one that stood out to me individually.

On Theme: 8.5/10

Overall: 6.5/10

8. Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey wore custom Alexander McQueen to this years gala and while nothing will ever top her 2018 Met Gala look, this ensemble came pretty close. The outfit inspired by the iconic 2007 runway look features a silk dress and a tulle veil placed on a headpiece made from hawthorn branches. I think this is a very Maleficent-esque look and it couldn't suit her any better and completed with the boots and the rose bag it was one of my favorite looks of the night.

On theme: 8/10

Overall: 8.5/10

7. Tyla

Tyla wore a Balmain gown that was sculpted to her body. The look complete with an hourglass bag and dustings of sand on her arm is meant to represent the 'sands of time'. I think this was one of everybody's favorite looks of the evening. She stayed fairly on theme and the outfit and concept was pulled of very well.

On theme: 7/10

Overall: 9.5/10

6. Elle Fanning

Naturally, you would expect sleeping beauty to nail this theme. This Balmain gown was the most on theme look of the night, clearly inspired by the crystal flowers from the garden. Apart from that it just looks absolutely stunning and complete with the songbirds on the shoulders it's a masterpiece.

On- Theme: 10/10

Overall- 8.5/10
